Doctor Who ‘Whoniverse’ Convention is Cancelled

doctor-who-matt-smith
Some truly unfortunate news for Doctor Who fans in Australia has come in from Hub Productions. Sadly Hub Productions have had to cancel their Whoniverse convention due to a family emergency preventing Matt Smith from making an appearance.

Matt Smith released a statement on the cancellation:

I am deeply saddened to have to advise that I will not be able to come to Australia for the Hub Productions’ Whoniverse event. Although I wish it were otherwise, due to a personal family emergency it’s not possible for me to leave England at this time. I truly regret the situation, and the disappointment it must be causing, but I’m hoping to be able to reschedule as soon as possible for the future; I look forward to see you all then.

This is obviously a disappointing turn of events for Doctor Who fans excited to see Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill at the Whoniverse event. But with the promise that they will return in the future, there is still hope for Whoniverse pop-culture event to be held. Stay tuned for more information on this as it comes to light. Be sure to let us know what you think in the comments section below.

Predator Hunts Down a 3D Release

Predator-3D-Lenticular-Cover-01
If it bleeds…

Mark February 26th on the calendar because Twentieth Century Fox have announced that they will be releasing the classic sci-fi hit Predator in Blu-Ray 3D (hopefully to greater response than their previous 3D endeavour). As if the original version didn’t keep you entertained, the extra dimension is set to add that little bit extra to the movie. Gun fights, explosions and that alien guy…Predator I believe. The power of 3D should help you feel closer to the action, like you’re right there in the jungle…with the dangerous hunter from space…cool? If you’d rather watch the film in a more classic style, it is also available in Blu-Ray 2D form. Both versions of the film are packaged in a limited edition lenticular case, for that bonus cool factor.

Arnold Schwarzenegger wages an all-out war against an unstoppable enemy in this pulse-pounding action thriller – now in spectacular 3D for the first time ever! On a rescue mission deep within a Central American jungle, a team of U.S. commandos find themselves hunted by a terrifying creature more powerful and deadly than any on Earth…because the Predator is not of this Earth.

Check out the screenshots below and let the pop culture nostalgia wash over you. It’s time to watchsome good ol’ fashioned Schwarzenegger action…Get to the chopper!

Pac-Man Museum Out This Week on Multiple Platforms

pac-man-museum-logo-01

Pac-Man is one of those games that no matter how many times it is released, how many collections we see, or how many consoles we already own it for, is always welcome. There is just something fresh about experiencing the game on a different platform, and the collections always make things even sweeter considered the bundled package it typically comes in.

Namco Bandai have now re-released a good grouping of the Pac in several forms, with the launch of Pac-Man Museum this week on the Playstation 3, Xbox Live, and Steam after quite the delay.

Here are some details of what to expect:

The iconic yellow PAC-MAN has led a long legacy of providing sensational arcade entertainment for multiple generations, and the eternal race through ghost and pellet-ridden mazes continues to this day. PAC-MAN MUSEUM features a comprehensive collection of nine classic PAC-MAN titles ranging from the early 1980’s retro games to newer smash-hits such as the critically acclaimed PAC-MAN® Championship Edition™* and PAC-MAN Battle Royale.

PAC-MAN Battle Royale brings the multiplayer madness from the arcades into living rooms as it debuts on consoles today for the very first time. The gameplay takes the classic PAC-MAN formula and turns it on its head as players compete against up to three friends with each player controlling a PAC-MAN character to frantically gobble up pac-dots, fruits and each other! Players will chomp their way through fast-paced maze action with the potential threat of both ghosts and opposing Pac-Men at every twist and turn to see who will be the last PAC-MAN standing.

Ms. Pac-Man is also available for free as a bonus to those who pick up the game at launch for a limited time, so grabbing this title soon is well advised. You can snag Pac-Man Museum for $19.99 (Ms. Pac-Man will be $4.99 after it gets a price), and enjoy another jolt of nostalgia today.
