nhl-15-screenshot-24

EA Sports has released a new gameplay trailer focusing on how they have taken the next step in making sure that NHL 15 contains a true “next-gen hockey player.” They have done this not only by creating more realistic looking jerseys (though you may notice it glitching out at one point in the video) but by also making each character model more detailed and using three separate layers for the player’s body, equipment, and jersey.

The trailer also shows off how the company has revised the user-controlled celebration system that seems to finally include the very common team hugs that occur after important goals. You can check out the video below and be sure to keep an eye out for NHL 15 when it is released on September 9th in North America for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

Back From the Dead: Grim Fandango Remastered for PC

Grim-Fandango-screenshot-01

Double Fine has confirmed that their remaster of the critically acclaimed adventure game by Lucasarts; Grim Fandango, will be released on PC as well as Playstation. Double Fine announced during E3 that they would be releasing a remaster of the classic game for the Sony PS4 but left journos speculating about whether they would release a version for desktops. Double Fine acquired the license to the intellectual property through collaboration with Sony after Disney closed down LucasArts and liquidated its assets.

Grim Fandago was originally released in 1998 to great critical acclaim and follows the story of Manuel ‘Manny’ Calavera as he navigates the noir, Aztec mythology-inspired afterlife. The game achieved kudos at its release for its art style and direction. It is considered one of the hallmarks of the Adventure game genre and is often considered one of the best games of all time even though it did not perform well commercially at release (And ultimately led to the termination of LucasArts’ discontinuation of adventure game development).

This confirmation, nearly a month after the original announcement, means that the posthumous adventures of “Manny” will be available to PC, Mac, and Linux users when the game is released at some point in the future.

Eric Clapton X Eva Author Collab For The Second Time

evangelion-art-01

Unfortunately this may not be what you’re thinking; the famous musician hasn’t written a song about Evangelion, nor is he in the next rebuild movie (although both would be amazing), but he does share a connection with the mangas’ author and they have reunited once again.

Yoshiyuki Sadamoto has created the jacket art for the album Eric Clapton & Friends The Breeze; the highly detailed illustration shows the singer/songwriter holding the neck of a guitar in a cloudy background. This will be the second time Sadamoto has designed album art for Clapton, the first time being in 1998 for the studio album Pilgrim, check out the image down below to see both album covers.

The Breeze is a tribute album to rock legend JJ Cale who passed away last year; it will contain 16 covers of Cales’ songs performed by Clapton, Willie Nelson, Tom Petty and more. The album will go on sale this month on the 29th, let us know what you think about this by leaving a comment below.
