Civilization: Beyond Earth Intro Cinematic Released

civilization-beyond-earth-promo-art-001

2K Games released the intro cinematic to Sid Meier’s upcoming 4x strategy title Civilization: Beyond Earth. The trailer entitled “The Chosen” shows the lucky few who are leaving Earth to forge a new life on new planets. There seems to be a certain level of desperation in the air, as families are separated. Personally, the trailer sent chills down my spine.

Civilization: Beyond Earth serves as the spiritual successor to Alpha Centauri, one of Sid Meier’s well regarded titles that mysteriously never received a sequel. The game mixes traditional Civilization gameplay and design choices inspired by Alpha Centauri. The game will support AMD’s Mantle API. Civilization: Beyond Earth launches on October 24, 2014 for Windows.
