Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley Dated for Australia

harvest-moon-the-lost-valley-01

Creating farms just got farmier. While us in the west already have Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley thanks in part to Natsume, Nintendo of Australia are finally bringing it to the region for the 3DS, and have announced a release date of June 20th.

Yes folks (or mates), you can craft your own world and adjust your landscape in this entry, with the standard actions of sowing seeds, picking flowers, or fishing also included to create another well-rounded experience. Its good to see Aussies get some love on their handhelds and Nintendo publishing the latest Harvest Moon seems to indicate how much stock Natsume still has on their hands.

Nintendo is currently developing its replacement for the loved loyalty program Club Nintendo but before everyone’s Stars expire on September 30th, Nintendo Australia would like to offer some additional items to its most devoted fan base. Pictured below are several new items coming to the shop in the future including some new items never before available in the Club Nintendo AU store including an adorable Captain Toad Figurine Lamp, Mario themed coasters and Mario Kart trophies!!!

Even more items are on their way though including some very popular old favorites in the Luigi’s Mansion 2 diorama figure and The Legend of Zelda Carry Case as well as some new items including what I am willing to bet will be a very valuable Club Nintendo farewell coin.

Australian Nintendo fans remember your stars expire on September 30th but you might want to save them up as I am willing to bet a lot of these items will be a bit hard on the old Star wallet. Remember, no new Nintendo products will come with the Club Nintendo code so old games are your only way of obtaining these now fairly valuable Stars. If anyone is super keen to get a hold of these items today, check eBay America where most of these items were already released.

The Behemoth’s Game 4 Releases First 20 Minutes of Gameplay

Behemoth-Game-4-promo-art-001

It has been over a year since indie dev The Behemoth — developers behind games like Castle Crashers and Battleblock Theater — first revealed their upcoming game, tentatively titled Game 4, at PAX East 2014. Since then, the game has been playable at a few conventions and we have even seen the opening cinematic for the untitled game.

Today, The Behemoth released a video featuring the first twenty minutes of gameplay from Game 4, introduced by art director/designer Dan Paladin:

We still have no clue when Game 4 will be released, what it will be called, or on what platforms it will be released. If one goes by The Behemoth’s last two games, it will most likely be a timed-exclusive on Xbox One followed by later releases to PC and PlayStation 4. But hey, maybe The Behemoth will launch on all platforms at once this go-around. With Game 4 being a turn-based strategy, it deserves a PC release sooner rather than later. With all that said, I look forward to playing this weird and funny game as soon as I can.

Anime Consortium Japan is getting the jump on streaming licenses this summer anime season by announcing that they will be streaming the anime adaptation of God Eater on Daisuki.net starting on Sunday July 5th.

Based off of the video game series from Bandai Namco and animated by ufotable, God Eater tells the story of a world where in the early 2050s unknown life forms called “Oracle Cells” began appearing to consume all life on earth. These creatures, eventually called aragami, were immune to all forms of conventional weaponry until living weapons created from Oracle cells, called God Arcs, were created and wielded by the God Eaters in an attempt to save the world.

The documentary on the early days of video gaming, World 1-1, launched today on Steam. The film covers the explosive growth that shook the entertainment industry and the near death of the video game industry during that time. Major figures in the industry like Nolan Bushnell, co-founder of Atari, and David Crane, co-founder of Activision, appear in the film.

World 1-1 released in theatres last year, has been screened at video game related events, and has been available through some digital services. Now, viewers will be able to stream the film from the comfort of their own home on Steam. Normally the film is for $7.99 USD, but Devolver Digital Films is celebrating the documentary’s launch by knocking the price off by 33% for the next two days.
