While XSEED Games is bringing both Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair for the PlayStation 4 and Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space for the PS Vita to North America sometime this fall season, European gamers have been sitting in the dark.

That changed earlier today when PQube announced that they will be handling both titles in Europe where each one will be released both at retail and digitally in Q4 2015. Earth Defense Force 4.1 is a complete re-imagining of the original Earth Defense Force 2025 and marks the first time that the series has appeared on modern consoles while Earth Defense Force 2 is a Vita remake of Global Defense Force 2 which was originally only available on the PlayStation 2.

Atlus USA is continuing to show off the seven playable main characters that can be chosen at the start of The Legend of Legacy and this time around they are focusing on introducing us to the templar knight Garnet and the treasure hunter Liber. Previously the amnesiac Bianca and the elementalist Meurs were introduced and you can check that video out here.

Similar to the two prior characters introduced, those who select either Garnet or Liber will be given a fixed three-person party at the start of the game but this party can be modified after clearing the prologue. Atlus USA has released character details for both highlighted characters and you can check those out below while The Legend of Legacy is set to be released on October 13th.

Garnet
A trained templar knight, Garnet is loyal to her holy order, and is exploring Avalon to stamp out the heretics spreading blasphemous rumors about gods returning to the mortal realm. Garnet has balanced offense and defense, making her versatile in party formations. She prefers long swords and shields, and she doesn’t have any elemental affinities at all.

Liber
A treasure hunter with a penchant for danger, and also profiting off said danger, Liber is coming to Avalon not for a noble cause, but rather to line his pockets. Being the resourceful adventurer, Liber is one of the strongest supports in the game and excels with bare fists, short swords, and spears. Plus, Liber has a strong affinity for the wind element.

Earlier this year Aksys Games released Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters in North America but if you debating about picking it up you may want to wait. The reason for that is because this week’s issue of Famitsu reveals that Arc System Works is working on an updated version of Tokyo Twilight Ghost Hunters for release in Japan for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation 3 in November.

Full Star Trek Renegades Film is Now Online and Free to Watch

This makes me happy. Over a year ago, I had the pleasure to interview Adrienne Wilkinson and speak about not only her career, but her involvement in a Star Trek project that would be shopped around as a new series. That project of course was none other than Star Trek Renegades, and is ready to watch for your viewing pleasure.

Here is a brief (and official) snipping of the story:

When planet after planet winks out of existence, yet Starfleet refuses to act, Chekov turns to Commander Tuvok (Tim Russ, who also directs), the new head of Starfleet’s covert operations division, Section 31. Together, they assemble a new elite strike-force, consisting of rogues, outcasts and criminals, led by the fearless yet haunted Lexxa Singh (Adrienne Wilkinson).

The Renegades’ mission is simple: take on an army and stop their leader, Borrada (Bruce Young), from destroying the Earth. Outnumbered and outgunned, the ragtag crew is in an adrenaline-pumping race against time and space. But they soon find their foes are the least of their concerns: the real trouble may be coming from within!

The film clocks in at roughly an hour and a half, and is honestly a blast. I could definitely invest in something like this on Netflix, Hulu, or any major channel. Check out the full film below and click this link to support this crew through a donation and receive a gift of Renegades’ pilot on DVD or Blu-ray. Believe me Trekkies, this might very well be a collector’s item one day as Renegades is full of potential. Grab some popcorn and enjoy!
