Earlier today Sentai Filmworks announced that they have acquired the license to the anime series Locodol which debuted during the summer 2014 anime season. Along with her upperclassman, Yukari Kohinata, and friends Yui and Mirai, they form “Nagarekawa Girls” to promote the town and its businesses.

Currently Sentai Filmworks has not stated when anime fans can expect the series to be released but they are planning on releasing the series on home video sometime in the future.

Stella Glow Release Date and Launch Bonuses Announced

Atlus USA has announced that they plan on releasing Imageepoch’s final game, Stella Glow, in North America on November 17th. The title will cost $49.99 at launch and will include a number of physical bonus items in all pre-ordered/launch copies of the game.

Those who pick up an early copy of Stella Glow will obtain a large Hilda’s Crystal Garden Cloth Poster, a BuBu Flexi-Charm, and a “Song Magic” CD all contained inside a collectible outer box. More details about each of these bonuses can be found below alongside a new trailer focusing on showing off Stella Glow‘s combat system.

  • Hilda’s Crystal Garden Cloth Poster This is a large poster made of cloth (so it won’t permanently crease by being folded in the package!) that features the striking image of Hilda, the Witch of Destruction posing with her scythe atop a seat of crystals.
  • Bubu Flexi-Charm Bubu is the pet pig of the Witch Popo, and hopefully by now you’ve insinuated that it’s super cute (because it is!). The charm is soft vinyl and since Bubu is such a loyal companion, the charm can be attached to whatever needs more piggy goodness. Oh, and it’s a real porker too at approximately 3″ x 3″.
  • “Song Magic” CD This is a 5-song disc featuring the vocal themes of the five Witches. The CD will arrive in a separate sleeve featuring artwork from the Witch Tuning sequences from the game.
  • Collectible Outer Box Similar to what we did with The Legend of Legacy, all the aforementioned premiums will be included in a large outer box. We didn’t just reuse the 3DS game cover either — the outer box is a new design featuring the protagonist, Alto, and the five Witches. Lisette on the spine of the box is a nice touch, and I once again salute our designers for putting together such a great-looking package.

BECOME THE ULTIMATE AUGMENTED SUPER SOLDIER IN FIRST ASSAULT

Sign up now to join the battle in this new tactical FPS set in a Cyberpunk world based on the critically acclaimed Ghost in the Shell: Standlone Complex.

LOS ANGELES – Sept. 16, 2015 –Nexon America, Inc. today revealed details for Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex – First Assault Online (First Assault). In this tactical team-based shooter, players take on the role of an augmented soldier fighting terrorists on the streets of a future cyberpunk world. The online first-person shooter (FPS) game is being developed by Neople and will be available to PC gamers in 2016. Fans can sign up now for the chance to be part of the upcoming closed beta tests beginning Thursday, Oct. 1, 2015.

Licensed by Nexon from Kodansha Ltd. and Production I.G, Inc., First Assault is based on Shirow Masamune’s acclaimed manga the Ghost in the Shell, one of the core originators of the Cyberpunk genre. First Assault references the anime source material while advancing the dark near-future universe and bringing it to a frenetic but tactical first-person shooter game environment. As an elite, augmented soldier, players will advance and master their character with upgrades and unlocks as they succeed in combat. Each character has exclusive attributes that reflect features of the original franchise, such as Motoko Kusanagi’s ‘Therm-optic Camouflage’ cloaking technology or Saito’s ability to enhance his vision and highlight enemy soldiers.

Players will carry out battle strategies and formations as they choose from among eight initial characters. Adding a unique layer to the experience, each of these can be customized with specialized body augmentations, weapon attachments and enhanced abilities. First Assault also features “SkillSync,” which allows players to leverage shared cyber-abilities with nearby teammates in combat modes to augment and increase their skills.  By using SkillSync in smart and tactical ways, teammates can work together in devastating combinations in battle.

Nexon will host beta events to stress test the servers before the next phase of development. The initial challenge runs from Oct. 1-4, with the second challenge following shortly after. Players who join the beta at this stage will be able to register their name early as well as unlock an exclusive “First Assault” weapon skin

A long way from home: Stranded – MarsONE out now for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Hamburg, Germany – September 16th, 2015
– Today, German publisher Deep Silver FISHLABS and Spanish developers Tama Games and Mutant Games released their first joint project, a skill-based free-2-play game called Stranded – MarsONE, on the App Store. Despite its cute look and cuddly presentation, the charming-but-challenging pixel fest does not primarily cater towards a casual-gaming audience. Instead, it is located in the mid- to hardcore segment and tailored to committed skill gamers.

Set on Mars, the game centers around a little astronaut’s efforts to find a way back home after his space ship crash-landed on the red planet. However, before he can communicate his whereabouts to a rescue crew, he first has to brave his way through 40 dodgy levels spanning across five differing terrains.

Stranded – MarsONE keeps its players hooked with an addictive core gameplay loop, effective one-touch controls, clever level designs and an asynchronous multiplayer mode. In terms of presentation, the title wears its retro colors with pride and delights its players with carefully crafted pixel graphics, well-orchestrated sound design and delightfully staged cut scenes. For a first-hand impression of the game, check out the official trailer on YouTube via http://bit.ly/stranded-trailer.

Features:

  • Unique arcade gameplay combining elements of auto-runners & 2D platformers
    • Charming pixel graphics with delightful retro appeal
    • 40 cleverly designed levels spanning across 5 different terrains
    • Lots of power-ups & customization options
    • Async multiplayer including ghost races & Facebook friend challenges
    • Star-based performance ratings
    • Game Center achievements
    • Spot-on touch controls

Stranded – MarsONE requires iOS 6 (or higher) and runs on iPhone 4 (and above), iPad 2 (and above) and iPod touch 5G. While iOS gamers can already download the game from the App Store via http://bit.ly/stranded-ios-en for free, Android users will still have to wait a bit. The release of Stranded – MarsONE on Google Play is planned for the near future and will be communicated in a follow-up press release.

PlayStation 4 Price Drop Announced for Japan on October 1st

playstation-4-jpn-price-drop

During their pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference last night Sony announced a number of things, including a long awaited sequel to Gravity Rush, that they will be dropping the price of the PlayStation 4 in Japan from the previous price of 39,980 yen to 34,980 yen. This price drop will go into effect starting on October 1st.

It is worth noting that the price of the PlayStation 4 in many areas, such as the United States, roughly mirrors the base price of the PlayStation 4 at $399 before, meaning that if this price drop is applied to other regions then the console will drop to $349. That being said, Sony has not yet announced this price drop for any other regions outside of Japan.
