Zero Escape Officially Titled Zero Time Dilemma in the West

Zero-Escape-Dilemma-logo

Back in July Aksys Games and Spike Chunsoft announced that they were working on Zero Escape 3 for the PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS and at the time we only knew that the game would be released with a new art style.

Now the companies have provided some additional details, such as the fact that the Western name for the game is Zero Time Dilemma and upon release it will be available at retail and digitally in North America for the PlayStation Vita and 3DS while Europe will be getting it as a digital only title and that both regions will be getting it in summer 2016.

To go along with the announcement of the new name Aksys has also provided a bit of an outline for the game and you can check that out below:

Building on the success of its predecessors, Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, and Virtue’s Last Reward, series mastermind Kotaro Uchikoshi has pulled out all the stops to deliver the most compelling and mind shredding gaming experience ever seen on a handheld platform. Choice is your only method of salvation and your only means of escape. How much of your humanity will you sacrifice to earn your freedom? As a new age of ruin looms large on the horizon, you must make impossible decisions and weather unimaginable consequences as you straddle the line between absolution and damnation. Plan your escape.

Rise of the Tomb Raider’s Launch Trailer Makes A Mark

rise-of-the-tomb-raider-screenshot-032

With Rise of the Tomb Raider set to be released in a little under two weeks for the Xbox One, Microsoft and Square Enix have opted to release a bit of an early launch trailer for the game showing off primarily cut-scene footage and giving us a glimpse at why Lara is finding herself in the situation that she is in in Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Considering the high amount of cut-scenes shown off in the video alongside a bit of gameplay footage one may wish to avoid it in case they want to go into Rise of the Tomb Raider with as little storyline knowledge as possible, but for those who wish to check it out you can find it below accompanied by Karen O’s “I Shall Rise” song.

Yakuza 5’s Side Activities Highlighted in Latest Screenshots

While the Yakuza may be known as a huge criminal organization in Japan, they still need some time off for fun and that is something that has always been available in the Yakuza game. The same will be true when Yakuza 5 is released in North America and Europe as Sega has released a number of new screenshots showing off the various side activities players can take part in.

These activities range from being outdoor actives such as hunting bears or fishing to more casual mini-games such as playing in an arcade, taking pictures in a photo booth, bowling, playing darts, participating in idol activities, and more. It is worth noting that Yakuza 5 still does not have a solid release date for the West but is planned to be released before the end of the year as a digital download for the PlayStation 3.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 to Include English Subtitles in Asian Release

Dead-or-Alive-Xtreme-3-screenshot-(59)

Over the past few years we have seen a boon in niche Japanese games being localized for Western release but we have also seen the rise of some annoying censorship issues. Some of the censorship does make a bit of sense while others are absolutely ridiculous and a few titles have pushed the limit so far that they weren’t even touched for Western release. As such with Koei Tecmo working on bringing Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 to the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita the company has been rather mum about releasing the game in the West, with only the passing mention of a “modified” version if it ever is released.

As such many have turned directly to importing Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 and there is some good news for those that do. According to Koei Tecmo and Play-Asia, the Asian version of the game will support English subtitles when it is released on February 25, 2016, allowing for a far smaller barrier for those who don’t want to wait to see how the title may be handled, if at all, by localization.

Shenmue III Development Update With New “Testing” Screenshots

Shenmue-III-screenshot-(08)

After blowing away their funding goal Ys Net has been focusing on developing Shenmue III and now that they are three months into the title they have an update for fans. So far the company has said that the story and scenarios are out of the planning stages and are being implemented into the world of the game.

The update does note that the main focus of the work at the moment is on map testing to make sure that no maps turn out too big or too large but that wasn’t all they had to share with fans. As you can see from the above two images, they have released some new images of Shenmue III that are all “still in testing” with Ryo’s character model being an older one and a few other models, such as the black suited men, being simple placeholders for now.

If you are curious as to why the battle screenshots shown above and below are awkward looking, it is due to an extreme angle being used to avoid spoiling anything that may be contained in these scenes.

Atelier Sophie’s PlayStation 4 and PS Vita Versions Compared in Latest Trailer

Atelier-Sophie-The-Alchemist-of-the-Mysterious-Book-screenshot-008

Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book marks the first time that the series is appearing on the PlayStation 4 and is also the first time that one of the core games was developed for the PlayStation Vita right from the start rather than as a delayed “Plus” version.

As such Gust and Koei Tecmo have chosen to release a comparison trailer showing off how the two different versions of Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book will look when it is released in Japan on November 19th. The video mostly features combat footage and starts out with a boss battle but roughly halfway through the comparisons begin with the only version not shown being the PS3 version.
