Pre-Order Bonuses detailed for celebrated Atelier series from GUST! 

Hertfordshire, 14th April 2016 – KOEI TECMO Europe today announced new gameplay features and detailed pre-order bonus information for GUST’s upcoming RPG, Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book. The game will bring the charm and magic of the long-running Atelier series to the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system for the first time on 10th June 2016, with a simultaneous digital-only release for the PlayStation®Vita handheld system. 

In Atelier Sophie: the Alchemist of the Mysterious Book the player must always be aware of two elements that greatly affect successful mission completions and material harvesting: Time and Weather. The time of day and the weather conditions should be carefully considered before heading out to a mission as some monsters will only show if the time and weather are favourable. Similarly, some necessary materials can only be harvested in specific times and weather conditions. Atelier Sophie: the Alchemist of the Mysterious Book also introduces a fatigue-based Life Point system, which can weaken attacks when a character has spent too long adventuring, gathering materials, and/or fighting without resting (returning to the atelier). These two new elements add to the challenging nature of this beautiful RPG and are indicative of the reimagined gameplay system of the Atelier universe!

Koei Tecmo released a brand new trailer showcasing these exciting new features, as well as a gameplay video further expanding on the re-vamped Atelier battle system.

Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book offers one of two different bonus DLC packs to players who pre-order the game from select retailers. Those who order through Amazon will receive an in-game background music pack, as well as two delightful Atelier Sophie themes for their PlayStation 4. Independent retailers will be offering a pack consisting of a background music, the Doll Making costume ‘Aqua Suit’, a five-piece set of useful materials and items to be used in synthesis and a theme.

Finally, those who purchase either the digital PlayStation®4 or PlayStation®Vita versions from the PlayStation®Store during its first month of release will receive two Atelier Sophie themes, as well as an in-game bundle of useful items boosting their attack (uni bag), Hit Points (sweets), or Mental Points (sotea) that can be used on their adventures.

Fear Effect Sedna Kickstarter Campaign Launches

The classic PlayStation action adventure series Fear Effect is finally getting a long awaited revival with a little help from the Square Enix Collective project and French indie developers Sushee. Fear Effect Sedna will be a real-time tactical action game starring Hana, Rain, Deke, and Glas from the previous titles. The game uses an isometric view and will support up to five player characters at a time.

“We first announced our intention to open up dormant Western IP right at the start of Collective’s life back in 2013,” explained Phil Elliott, creator and project lead for Square Enix Collective. “We felt that last year was the right time to go ahead with that, and Sushee – although busy with the development of Goetia at the time – was quick to register a keen interest in the idea. Earlier this year, with Goetia nearing completion, Sushee revisited the idea and put together a great pitch that combined a real love of the original games with a new take and appropriate budget – so we’re excited to see how the community will respond, and we’ll watch closely to see whether opening up our older IP for pitches is something we should do more of.”

Sushee has already made an investment to get the game off the ground with Square Enix providing access to the Fear Effect IP and technical and production support for the game. Now Sushee is looking for €100,000 to expand their small team of nine to finish the game. The Kickstarter campaign wraps up on May 13 and the game is expected to launch in May 2017 on Mac and Windows. A limited number of digital pre-order copies are available for €15, with the price going up to €18 once 2000 pre-orders are sold.

New York, NY – April 13, 20162K today announced that NBA 2K will celebrate the renowned basketball legacy of the Los Angeles Lakers’ Kobe Bryant by featuring the 18-time NBA All-Star on the cover of the NBA 2K17 Legend Edition. This special edition of the top-rated NBA video game simulation series for the last 15 years* will highlight Bryant’s career with special Kobe-themed memorabilia and digital content extending his legacy for fans beyond his final NBA game tonight.

Bryant’s Legend Edition cover marks the second NBA 2K appearance for the 15-time member of the All-NBA Team, and 12-time member of the All-Defensive team. 2K will debut the cover star for the standard edition of NBA 2K17 during the NBA 2K16 Road to the Finals $250,000 championship event this June.

The NBA 2K17 Legend Edition will be available in both digital and physical formats on PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One. The physical edition is exclusive to GAME in the UK.

The NBA 2K17 standard edition will be available in digital and physical formats on PlayStation®4 system and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox One and Xbox 360; and Windows PC platforms in September 2016.
