Arkane Studios Developed Prey Announced for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC

prey-screenshot- (4)

After revealing and eventually cancelling Prey 2 a few years ago, it looks like the series is back with a completely new studio at the helm and a fresh idea. Bethesda Softworks and Arkane Studios Austin have announced Prey for release in 2017 on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Arkane Studios is designing Prey to be a first-person sci-fi action game that re-imagines the franchise from the ground up… with an added psychological twist.

In the game players will be controlling Morgan Yu, the subject of morally dubious experiments designed to improve the human race. You awaken aboard the Talos 1 in the year 2032 and must uncover the secrets hiding in the depths of the space station while being hunted by the mysterious alien force that has taken over. You’ll have to rely on the tools you find on the station – along with your wits, weapons and mind-bending abilities – to combat the growing threat and, hopefully, survive.

fallout-4-nuka-world-screenshot- (1)

Bethesda released the last of their previously announced DLC for Fallout 4 last month but today during their E3 press conference the company announced the next three that are on the way. The bad news is, those who aren’t really interested in the building aspect are going to be left out in the cold for the most part. The next piece of DLC, set to be released next week, is a “Contraptions” add-on pack that adds various well, contraptions, to the workshop.

The fifth one happens to be “Vault-Tec” oriented where players can build a vault of their own and manage it in a similar manner to Fallout Shelter, and finally there is a Nuka World which will be released in August, though that one was only briefly shown off.

Bethesda opened up their E3 2016 press conference with a bit of a teaser that very few people caught onto right away. As you’ll see above, the teaser comes in the form of a command prompt screen with various games and events showing a release date with one noticeable title that only has stars in the release date section. That happens to be what will likely be a new game in the Wolfenstein series, Wolfenstein: The New Colossus.

Of course, Bethesda did not officially announce anything for the Wolfenstein series during the event but we can likely expect some sort of announcement by QuakeCon.

Last year among the many high profile titles that were shown off at EA‘s E3 press conference there was a small title named Unravel that captured the hearts of many at the event. Following up on that this year, EA has announced EA Originals, a program that pledges to find and help out small developers in order to turn their projects into reality with all profits going back to the developers once the game is released.
