Amsterdam, The Netherlands – July 13, 2016 – Obsidian Entertainment and global publisher My.com are proud to announce the newest addition to Armored Warfare. Update 0.16 is focused on addressing a selection of fixes for Armored Warfare based upon community feedback, apart from adding new tanks and maps to the game. After carefully evaluating the community’s opinion, the decision was made to shift focus towards streamlining existing content first and foremost.

Update 0.16 features include:

Innovative Sci-Fi Narrative Exploration Game, Event[0], Launching on PC and Mac in September

Innovative Sci-Fi Narrative Exploration Game, Event[0], Launching on PC and Mac in September

Stranded in Space with Only an Unstable AI Computer for Company, Players Must Build a Relationship through Text Conversations to Survive and Return to Earth

PARIS – July 13, 2016IN SPACE, NO ONE CAN HEAR YOU TYPE… Event[0], the award-winning sci-fi narrative exploration game in which players must build a relationship with a lonely spaceship computer to get home, is coming to Windows PC and Mac this September via Steam and the Humble Store by Humble Bundle. A new teaser trailer for the game that poses the question, “What would you say to a computer if your life depended on it?” can be viewed at event0game.com.

The indie game first drew attention as a concept demo that won multiple indie gaming awards, including Innovation at BIG 2015 and Student Award winner at EIGD 2014. The first-person narrative exploration game transports players to the desolated spacecraft, Nautilus. As a player, your only companion is an insecure AI entity named Kaizen with whom you interact by typing messages on computer terminals throughout the ship. The game’s multi-layered story emerges organically as players communicate with Kaizen, freely explore 3D environments, gather information and solve hacking puzzles.

Set in a retrofuture inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey, Solaris and Brave New World, Event[0] is a game about building a personal relationship with a machine using natural language. Kaizen can procedurally generate over two million lines of dialog and the AI entity has a strong personality influenced by human input. Players communicate by typing messages into a computer, and Kaizen responds. As in any relationship, there can be gratitude, disappointment or jealousy, and Kaizen reacts differently depending on its mood. By working through the fears and anxieties of your virtual companion you can ultimately find your way back to Earth—while unraveling the cryptic history of the ship and the 1980s society from which it emerged.

Event[0] began as a six-month student project before evolving into a full title under the auspices of Ocelot Society, which was founded by key members of the team. The game is backed by France’s CNC public arts organization and by the Indie Fund, a funding source for independent developers launched as an alternative to traditional publisher models.

Event[0] takes me back to the kind of magic I felt playing Zork as a kid,” said Ron Carmel, Co-Founder of Indie Fund and Co-Creator of World of Goo. “There are moments where I can suspend disbelief and feel like I’m actually having a conversation with an advanced AI, probing its inner workings with words.”

The game is created using Unity Engine 5 and utilizes physics-based rendering and advanced lighting techniques to create richly detailed environments inside and outside the ship (players can leave the ship for breathtakingly scary spacewalks). Eschewing a traditional game score, all sound, including incidental music, comes from items in the environment. The ship is essentially the AI computer’s body, and reacts to Kaizen’s mood by making different sounds—which can give the player valuable clues.

Event[0] is like our AI child: over the past two years it has grown from a vibrant but limited concept into a fully realized narrative exploration game,” said Léonard Carpentier, Co-founder and CEO of Ocelot Society. “Our team has created an evocative world for players to explore and Kaizen can’t wait to find new humans to become best friends with!”

More information on Event[0] will be released in the coming weeks if Kaizen can be convinced to cooperate.

For updates on Event[0] please visit event0game.com and follow @event0game on Twitter and on Facebook.

Heavy Hitter: Orcs Must Die! Unchained Welcomes Queen Bionka as Playable Hero

Heavy Hitter: Orcs Must Die! Unchained Welcomes Queen Bionka as Playable Hero

Update introduces two new maps as well as guilds and rating system

Karlsruhe, 7/13/2016 Developers Robot Entertainment are integrating numerous new features in patch 1.3 of team action tower defence game Orcs Must Die! Unchained. Mighty yet also a little cumbersome, orc queen Bionka joins the fracas in order to hold a protective hand over the minions. Fans of earlier entries in the series will also be excited to see the return of the classic survival battleground ‘The Baths’ as well as the new ‘Throne Room’ map. At the end of successful survival battles, a 5 star rating system now promotes ambitions for highscore hunters, whilst like-minded players can now organize themselves in guilds at will and head out together on the orc hunt.

A visual impression of patch 1.3 and Bionka’s abilities can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWc98pKhIlk. The full list of all improvements is available in the patch notes: http://en.omd.gameforge.com/revolution.html.

A heart for minions

Unlike her son, Bloodspike, Bionka does not profit from the suffering of her minions, in fact, the opposite is true: She sacrifices her health to protect her minions. Her ability ‘Sing An March’ is one such example of this, where damage done to minions in a set radius around her is reduced. Should a minion die however, the damage is also transferred to Bionka. The orc monarch also regenerates her health faster the more of her own minions surround her.

The new guild feature improves bonds too: From now on players will be able to organize in guilds, to work together towards shared goals within the game and to play for points within the guild ranking leaderboard, which offers exclusive rewards for the top spots at the end of each season.

An overview of the key features coming in patch 1.3:

+ New hero: Orc Queen Bionka
+ Guild feature
+ Two new maps: ‘The Baths’ and ‘Throne Room’
+ 5 stars rating system added to survival mode

ACCLAIMED NEW-GENERATION STRATEGY CARD GAME CHRONICLE: RUNESCAPE LEGENDS GETS MAJOR UPDATE

ACCLAIMED NEW-GENERATION STRATEGY CARD GAME CHRONICLE: RUNESCAPE LEGENDS GETS MAJOR UPDATE – NEW SLAYER MASTER LEGEND, AGGRESSIVE GAMEPLAY AND A HOST OF NEW CARDS ARRIVE.

A new chapter arrives to further determine the fate of Legends, as Morvran – the Slayer Master – arrives with new tactics and strategies to overcome.

Wednesday 13th July 2016, Cambridge, UK – The next chapter of Chronicle: RuneScape Legends has begun with the launch of a major update, six weeks after the critically-acclaimed online strategy card game debuted on Steam for PC. The 1.4 update brings with it the highly anticipated, sixth Legend – Morvran, the Slayer Master. Players will have to use their wits and guile to secure success and reap the rewards, as they strive to add the Legend to their collection.

Morvran’s addition to the line-up of Legends is free, only requiring players to take on and defeat the Slayer Master himself. Bringing with him a new set of unique tactics and strategies to use against their foes, as well as 37 new cards and two additional character skins, players will be able to forge their own quests and customise Morvran to make him their own. As the Slayer Master, the Legend’s aggressive nature and array of violent monster cards make him a formidable opponent for all who encounter him. Players will have to adapt to this new style of gameplay to thrive!

The addition of Morvran precedes the game’s first-ever event, Beach Party, which begins later this summer. Debuting three new, sun-soaked, tropical environments, the event will also see the inclusion of new community quests – where players have to work together to succeed – as well as rewards such as exclusive cards for taking part.

“Chronicle’s launch on Steam was just the prologue of our own quest to continue delivering a strong line up of content for the game. The addition of Morvran as our sixth Legend will shake up the strategies and tactics of even top Platinum-ranked players, but he is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of planned content for the rest of the year and beyond,” said James Sweatman, lead designer, Chronicle: RuneScape Legends. “We’ve had great feedback from gamers across the world since Chronicle launched in May, and we’re looking forward to continuing our journey with them!”

Since launch at the end of May, more than a million games have each been played using Ariane and The Raptor across Chronicle’s many gameplay modes, including the hardcore Ranked mode, and draft Dungeoneering mode. Delivering a unique twist on the card game genre, combining tactical PvE with strategic PvP gameplay as players fight their own cards as well as their opponents, Chronicle is now available for PC from Steam (http://store.steampowered.com/app/205890/).

WHICH AUSSIE LOCATION WILL BAN POKÉMON GO FIRST?

WHICH AUSSIE LOCATION WILL BAN POKÉMON GO FIRST?

  • Australian War Memorial favourite to ban Pokémon Go first.
  • State-wide Pokémon Go ban in NSW not being ruled out.

As Pokémon Go fans swamp many of Australia’s iconic, and not so iconic, locations sportsbet.com.au doesn’t think it will be too long before the calls for it to be banned start coming thick and fast.

After appeals from US authorities for users to stop hunting Pokémon at the Holocaust Memorial Museum and Arlington National Cemetery, the online bookie has opened a market on which Aussie location will be the first to impose a ban.

The Australian War Memorial is the $3.50 favourite, with other Canberra locations also in the mix including the National Library of Australia ($4.50) and Parliament House ($11).

Popular Aussie tourist destinations including the Daintree Rainforest ($14), Uluru ($16) and the Great Barrier Reef ($26) are in the running, as is the MCG ($31) or Melbourne’s Chadstone Shopping centre ($41).

After banning greyhound racing, Sportsbet won’t rule out the NSW Government following up with a state-wide ban of Pokémon, but at odds of $1,001 it appears a remote chance at best.

“Forget the yo-yos and footy cards, Pokémon Go is the latest craze sweeping the nation and we don’t think it will be too long before the fun police start calling for a ban,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Bulmer.

“The Australian War Memorial is favourite and rightly so, but we’d hate to see Aussies denied the chance of hunting for virtual Japanese monsters in the Daintree or Great Barrier Reef.”
