Madman Entertainment has released several anime titles in stores across Australia today. The following list details all of their anime releases of August 3, 2016.

  • Cute High Earth Defense Club Love! Complete Season 1 – DVD only. All 12 episodes are featured with Japanese audio and English subtitles. On-disc extras include six animated shorts, the textless opening and ending animation and the TV commercial collection.
  • Girl Friend Beta Complete Series – DVD only. All 12 episodes are presented with Japanese audio and English subtitles. The textless opening and ending animation sequences are included as on-disc extras.
  • Gonna Be the Twin-Tail!! Complete Series – DVD and Blu-ray. All 12 episodes are featured with dual language options. The episode commentaries and textless opening and ending animations are featured as on-disc extras.
  • Log Horizon Season 2 Part 1 – DVD and Blu-ray. Episodes 1-13 are featured with dual language options.
  • Love Live! The School Idol Movie – DVD and Limited Edition Blu-ray. The film is presented with dual language options.
  • Naruto Spin-Off: Rock Lee and His Ninja Pals Part 2 – DVD only. Episodes 27-51 are featured with dual language options.
  • Psychic School Wars – DVD and Blu-ray. The film is presented with dual language options.
  • Psycho-Pass the Movie – DVD and Blu-ray. The film is featured with dual language options.
  • Shonen Hollywood -Holly Stage for 49- Complete Season 1 – DVD only. All 13 episodes are presented with Japanese audio and English subtitles.
  • Your Lie in April Part 2 – DVD and Blu-ray. Episodes 12-22 are featured with dual language options.
  • Yurikuma Arashi Complete Series – DVD and Blu-ray. All 12 episodes are presented with dual language options. The episode commentaries, textless opening and ending animations, promotional videos and TV spots are included as on-disc extras.

RISK® URBAN ASSAULT AND BATTLESHIP® CONSOLE GAMES ARE NOW AVAILABLE 

Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ: HAS) and Ubisoft® have announced that two new console games, RISK® Urban Assault and Battleship®,  are now available for download.

RISK® Urban Assault console game is available on Sony PlayStation® Store for PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, and on Microsoft Xbox Store for Xbox One® and Xbox 360®.

Battleship® console game is now available on Xbox Store for Xbox One® and will be available on PlayStation® Store for PlayStation®4 system later this quarter.

Both console games will be part of the Sony Totally Digital Program until August 24th and the Microsoft Winter Spotlight Program until August 9th.

RISK® URBAN ASSAULT CONSOLE GAME

The RISK® Urban Assault console game is an exciting new version of the RISK® brand set across five iconic cities from around the globe, such as New York, London and Paris. At its heart, it retains the DNA that makes the RISK® game so popular with an additional layer of strategy introduced by commanders, facilities and alliances.

Players will wage war in the campaign mode, where they will need to choose among five different factions, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Players will also choose commanders to employ with unique abilities and new strategies to use such as diplomacy or using city funds. Players will enjoy a brand-new RISK® gaming experience in the new online modes such as League Play, where they will play six games in a league and earn points, medals and gain promotion for winning. Both campaign mode and online modes are playable with up to five players, offline or online.

The RISK® Urban Assault console game is available on Sony PlayStation® Store for PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, and on Microsoft Xbox Store for Xbox One® and Xbox 360®.

 

BATTLESHIP® CONSOLE GAME

Battleship® console game players will deploy their fleet and strategic skills on a modern, dynamic and interactive 3D board to destroy the enemy before their own ships are sunk.

The new Clash at Sea! mode will bring new exciting features to the classic gameplay players know and love. In this mode, players strategize to win by managing their resources and using their fleet’s special abilities to win the game. For players who crave competition and challenges, they will have the ability to play with their friends locally or online in a unique player-versus-player experience as well as track their progress on the global leaderboard.

The Battleship® console game is now available on Xbox Store for Xbox One® and will be available on PlayStation® Store for PlayStation®4 system later this quarter.

Interactive Entertainment, today released the season premiere episode of the highly anticipated BATMAN – The Telltale Series, now available for download.

BATMAN – The Telltale Series Episode One: Realm of Shadows makes its worldwide debut digitally today on PC from the Telltale Online Store, Steam, and other digital distribution services; on the PlayStation®Network for PlayStation 4; and on the Xbox Games Store for Xbox One®. 2K and Firaxis Games today revealed that Pedro II will lead Brazil in Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, launching on Oct 21st for Windows PC.

Pedro II, born in 1839, was the second and final ruler of the Empire of Brazil, a 19th-century state comprised of territories encompassing Brazil and Uruguay. Civilization V players will undoubtedly recognize Pedro II, who led Brazil in the game after being introduced in theBrave New World expansion.

Groomed for rule from the age of five after his father abdicated the throne and fled to Europe, Pedro II was known for his strong devotion to his people despite his resentment towards the monarchy that robbed him of so much of his childhood. Despite this adversity and the crumbling state of the Empire his father left him with, Pedro II managed to steer Brazil towards prosperity until he was suddenly usurped in a surprise military coup d’état and exiled to Europe, where he remained until his death in 1889.

Pedro II earned the respect and admiration of some of the greatest scholars at the time, and is forever remembered as a champion of knowledge, culture and science.

UBISOFT MOTION PICTURES ANNOUNCES “THE DIVISION” FILM WITH JESSICA CHASTAIN AND JAKE GYLLENHAAL

LONDON, UK – August 2nd, 2016 — Today, Ubisoft Motion Pictures, the film and television studio of Ubisoft®, announced a new project, “The Division” with Academy Award® nominees Jessica Chastain (The Martian, Interstellar, The Help, Zero Dark Thirty) and Jake Gyllenhaal (End of Watch, Nightcrawler, Southpaw) attached.

“We are excited to collaborate with Jessica and Jake, two of Hollywood’s most talented actors  and perfect creative collaborators to help bring Tom Clancy’s The Division™ to the big screen,” said Gerard Guillemot, Chief Executive Officer, Ubisoft Motion Pictures. “Attaching Jake and Jessica is part of our development philosophy of working closely with top talent from the earliest stages to collaborate on a high quality film,” added Matt Phelps, Vice President, Ubisoft Motion Pictures.

Ubisoft Motion Pictures will develop the project with Gyllenhaal’s and Riva Marker’s (Beasts of No Nation) Nine Stories Productions, and Chastain’s Freckle Films. The announcement comes after the critically-acclaimed Tom Clancy’s The Division™ video game, developed by Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment studio, sold more copies in its first 24 hours of availability than any previous title in Ubisoft’s history* and recorded the biggest first week ever for a new video game franchise**.

Gyllenhaal can next be seen starring opposite Amy Adams in Tom Ford’s Nocturnal Animals, scheduled to open November 18th 2016.  He recently completed filming on Bong Joon Ho’s Okja and begins filming on Daniel Espinosa’s Life this week.  Through Nine Stories, Gyllenhaal produced David Gordon Green’s upcoming Stronger, in which he also stars.

Chastain will next be seen in John Madden’s political thriller Miss Sloane, and Niki Caro’s adaptation of Diane Ackerman’s novel The Zookeeper’s Wife, opposite Daniel Bruhl. She is also set to star in Aaron Sorkin’s film adaptation of Molly Bloom’s memoir Molly’s Game alongside Idris Elba and Susanna White’s period drama Woman Walks Ahead.

Ubisoft Motion Pictures and New Regency’s Assassin’s Creed®, starring Academy Award® nominee Michael Fassbender, has recently completed principal photography. Assassin’s Creed will be released by 20th Century Fox on December 21st 2016. Other Ubisoft Motion Pictures projects currently in development include: Splinter Cell at New Regency with Tom Hardy attached, Ghost Recon with Warner Brothers, Watch Dogs with Sony Pictures Entertainment and New Regency, as well as Rabbids with Sony Pictures Entertainment.

What would some of our cities look like two years after the “Aug Incident”?

MONTRÉAL, CANADA – 02 August 2016 – Today, Square Enix® and Eidos-Montréal revealed how they imagined some of the major cities around the globe looking in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided®’s interpretation of the year 2029. In addition to Prague, one of the locations in the game, the Eidos-Montréal team of artists shared their vision of what Barcelona, Berlin, Blackpool, Cologne, London, Moscow, Paris, Rio de Janeiro, Stockholm and Sydney would look like 2 years after the “Aug Incident”, the event within the previous entry in the series, Deus Ex: Human Revolution®.

 

In 2027, mechanically-augmented people all over the world suffered from extreme psychotic delusions, lost control of themselves, and started attacking others. Millions died. Hundreds of thousands more were injured and maimed. Two years later, in 2029, society is still reeling from the tragedy referred to by many as the “Aug Incident”. In the wake of this global catastrophe, society has become divided by hatred, prejudice, and fear, with many countries now enacting harsh laws leading to a humanitarian crisis that’s spinning violently out of control.

Over 20 games on display to promote the Italian style in the world 

Milan, 3rdAugust. The Italian Ministry of Economic Development, the Italian Trade Agency ICE and AESVI, the Italian Games Trade Body, are announcing today their presence at Gamescom 2016. The Italian pavilion, located in the trade area of the show, will showcase the widest range of Italian videogames developed in Italy.

“Videogames in Italy are experiencing a constant and steady growth in both the number of productions and market value. Our aim is to promote, assist and encourage a dialogue with the Italian Government as well as demonstrate the same skillset our country demonstrates in other creative sectors, such as the design and fashion industry”, said Thalita Malago, AESVI’s General Secretary.

“Today, the gaming market represents an emergent economic sector where Italy’s innovation and creativity will play an important role” said Giovanni Sacchi, Director of the Made in Italy Export Promotion Department– “We decided to support this international event to give a signal to young Italian enterpreneurs that operate in this sector. We want to take advantage of the many new opportunities that are emerging in this area with the aim of taking our place in the international competitive scene.”

Italy is making a lot of progress in opening up to game developers thanks to new legislation (issued by the Government and currently under the scrutiny of the Parliament) which will allow them to be liable for a 15-30% tax credit on their projects. A deal similar to those celebrated in countries like the UK and France, which have seen huge growth in the local videogame industry as a result.

In the last 3 years the collaboration between ICE (the Italian Government’s Agency for overseas promotion and internationalization of Italian companies) and AESVI has contributed to the growth of the Italian gaming industry in foreign markets. This is thanks to an increased presence at international shows in both the USA and Europe. This is an example of the growing attention the Italian Government is giving to videogames in Italy, as it continues to grow.

This year, the Italian pavilion at Gamescom will showcase the best of Italian game development with a diverse line-up that will cover everything from mobile to VR and traditional console and PC games. AESVI is proud of Italy’s strong game development output to date and is excited to see it evolve in the future.

New Pokemon and Features Revealed in Pokemon Sun & Moon New Trailer

A new trailer for Pokemon Sun and Moon has been released and this is the most exciting one yet, revealing new Alolan forms for a few classic Pokemon, several new Generation 7 Pokemon and heaps of awesome new features as well. This article will break down all this new information including a lot of details that were expanded upon after the trailer had been released. If you want to watch it for yourself the new footage is embedded directly below.

So first off, new forms of old Pokemon. Due to the different mini climates in the new Alola region some already known about Pokemon have taken on completely different characteristics affecting their physical appearance, types, abilities and most likely their base stats. I saw most likely in regard to the stats as the official site mentions Alolan Sandslash is slower than it’s normal counterpart due to it’s increased weight. So far five Alolan Pokemon have been revealed.

Alolan Exxegutor is perhaps the most radically different in terms of looks. It’s type changed from Grass/Psychic to Grass/Dragon and it has the Frisk ability. Alolan Vulpix and Ninetales both go from Fire types to Ice and Ice/Fairy types respectively. They have the ability Snow Cloak which gives them extra evasion in a hail storm. Alolan Sandshew and Sandslash also gain this ability and a new Ice/Steel typing as opposed to their original Ground forms.

Now I’ll introduce you to some all new Pokemon. Starting from the top left we have Fomantis and it’s evolution Lurantis. They are both Grass types and learn an all new move called Solar Blade, which seems to be a physical version of Solar Beam, including the turn it takes to charge up. They get the Leaf Guard ability to protect them from status effects in the sun. Third from the left is Yungoos new evolved form, Gumshoos. It retains it’s Normal typing and Stakeout and Strong Jaw abilities.

Top right corner is Minior, a Rock/Flying type. It has an interesting abilitiy called Shields Down which give it excellent defensive capabilities until it’s HP drops to below half, where it will change into a more offensive form. Bottom left corner is Mudbray, the pre-evolution of the formerly revealed Mudsdale.

Then there is Oricorio, a Flying Pokemon that has a unique secondary typing for each of it’s styles. From left to right, Fire, Electric, Psychic and Ghost. Oricorio has the new Dancer Ability that will copy any dancing move used by another Pokemon such as Swords Dance or Quiver Dance, and give Oricorio those effects. It also get’s the new move Revelation Dance that’s type changes based on Oricorio’s current style. A different style of Oricorio is present on each of the four islands of Alola due to the Pokemon drinking nectar from specific flowers. It should be able to change forms by visiting the different islands although is currently unconfirmed.

Now it’s time for some awesome new features. Poke Ride will allow you to fly on a Charizard, ride a Tauros or surf on a Sharpedo. Don’t quote me on this, but it seems Poke Ride is a way to replace HM’s such as Fly or Surf with a funner alternative. It is said that Poke Ride Pokemon don’t join your team, so you simply call for someone else’s Pokemon as opposed to flying on your own Charizard. Other confirmed ridable Pokemon include Tauros, Stoutland, Lapras and Mudsdale.

Pokemon Sun and Moon seem to feature a slightly different progression system than the past games. It seems the new games won’t have traditional Gyms and instead has something called the Island Challenge. There are four main islands in Alola and it seems you must pass the trial on each one before you can continue to the next. Each trial seems to put you up against a Trial Captain, a challenging Totem Pokemon battle and lastly, a battle against the islands Kahuna.

The first trial of each island is not limited to simply battling with Pokémon. They take a variety of forms, such as finding items or completing tests of knowledge. After you have completed that you will have to take down that islands Totem Pokemon. The first one you challenge will be a Totem Gumshoos. A Totem Pokemon can summon allies in battles, turning it into a one sided affair. They also are surrounded by a unique aura which will power them up in different ways, Gumshoos get’s a defense boost for example.

Lastly, you will battle the islands kahuna. Each of Alola’s four islands has a leader, called the island kahuna, who governs the island. Kahunas are chosen by the Pokémon known as guardian deities, which are also found on each island. Hala is the kahuna of Melemele Island, where you have just moved to, and is also your rival Hau’s grandfather. He is also the person who gives you your first Pokemon.

The final big announcement was the newest additional to the Pokemon battle system, Z-moves. This is what the dances in the last trailer were related to. These are ultra powerful moves that can only be unleashed once per battle (as in only one Z-move per battle total) and there is a Z-move for each Pokemon type. To use a Z-move you first must obtain the Z-Ring which fits on a Trainer’s arm, and one of 18 Z-Crystals (one to match each type). If a Pokémon holds the same variety of Z-Crystal and has a move of that type in it’s current moveset, the two will be able to resonate with one another and unleash a devastating Z-move. Currently we have seen, Bloom Doom, Gigavolt Havoc, Inferno Overdrive and Hydro Vortex, all which look absolutely devastating.

Surprisingly we haven’t seen anything about Mega Evolution so it could be this new feature could be replacing Mega Evolution all together but that is purely speculative for now. Toy company Tomy are releasing a real life Z-Ring which players can wear on their arm. The accessory will be released alongside Pokemon Sun and Moon and will light up, vibrate, and play sounds to go along with the video and sounds in the game.

UPDATE: EB Games Australia has listed the Z-Ring accessory and Z-Crystals for preorder. The Z-Ring will set you back $38AU and comes with 3 Z-Crystals, Grass, Water and Fire. It also comes with a 5cm Pikachu figure. Additional 3 Z-Crystal packs are available at $10 each and contain different types.

That’s everything new we learned in today’s trailer but surprisingly the Pokemon Company have already announced that the next big information dump will take place in only a couple of weeks time on August 12th at 11:00PM AEST. Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon release exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS in most regions worldwide on November 18th.
