Captain Harlock: Dimensional Voyage Licensed by Seven Seas

0

With many licenses already under their belts this week Seven Seas Entertainment has added yet another one to the list by announcing that they have acquired the license to the Captain Harlock: Dimensional Voyage manga that currently has five volumes released in Japan. The first of these volumes will be released in English on October 3rd.

This manga series is an all-new contemporary take on space pirate Captain Harlock from Leiji Matsumoto and Kouichi Shimahoshi. To go along with this license announcement the company has provided a description of the manga that you can read below:

When Tadashi Daiba’s father is murdered by invaders known as the Mazon, he becomes frustrated in the face of the Earth government’s flippant attitude. Landing himself in prison, Tadashi finds himself invited aboard the battleship Arcadia, controlled by none other than the legendary Captain Harlock. Joining his crew on their journey through space, Tadashi’s future will lead him to confront not only the Mazon, but the many other forces across the universe threatening humanity’s very existence.

Gun Gun Pixies’ Latest Trailer Features Dorm Infiltration and More

A new trailer for Gun Gun Pixies has been released by Compile Heart and in it we catch a glimpse at how the game will play. As we’ve detailed in the past, players will be controlling one of two miniature alien girls that have come to Earth in order to study human relations after their own planet Pandemo began to suffer from a communication crisis causing no one to interact or even marry each other anymore.

The video, shown below, features the girls sneaking around the girls’ dorm while avoiding damage from the girls as they move around the room, take out small enemies scattered around, and avoid being caught all while shooting girls with “happy bullets.” Currently Gun Gun Pixies is set to be released in Japan on March 23rd for the PS Vita.

DONTNOD ELEVEN ANNOUNCES the STEAM closed beta FOR BATTLECREW™ Space Pirates WILL Run from January 19th to 22nd

Paris – January 12, 2017 – DONTNOD ELEVEN invites players to participate in a closed beta test for its competitive 2.5D multiplayer shooter, BATTLECREW™ Space Pirates.  Beginning Thursday, January 19 at 11: 00 am (EST) , and running through Sunday, January 22 at 11:00 am (EST), DONTNOD ELEVEN is hosting a test for players in North America and Western Europe. The closed beta test will introduce new gameplay updates as well as additional improvements based on consumer feedback from previous tests.

Sign up here for the chance to participate: http://www.battlecrewgame.com/.

Players who participate in the closed beta provide most precious developer feedback. Following the end of the closed beta, the DONTNOD ELEVEN team will work to implement changes based on consumer input ahead of the Early Access launch at the end of January 2017.

The game takes place in an original and iconic Space Pirates universe, where players can control charismatic heroes, each having their own unique characteristics and skills.

The closed beta will allow gamers to explore 5 different maps through 2 competitive multiplayer modes. They will also be able to work together as a team in 4 vs 4 Gold Rush or compete for glory in the 2 vs 2 Team Deathmatch. In Gold Rush, the player and his team must collect as much gold as possible to win while battling against the opposite team. In Team Deathmatch, players must vaporize as many of the enemy pirates as they can to claim victory.

The biggest new feature being introduced during the closed beta is the ability to create squads. Gamers can now invite their friends to create their own team of space pirates and raid the worlds of BATTLECREW™ Space Pirates together!

They will also be able to partake in the 2 vs 2 Team Deathmatch mode which will be available exclusively during the closed beta. Once the game arrives in Steam Early Access, Team Deathmatch won’t be available until it’s added later on as a free update.

During the Early Access phase, which is planned to start at the end of January, additional content (news maps, new skins…) will be added through different mechanics such as crowd unlocking, community challenges, time limited events, updates, and community polls. These updates will be implemented, while the team continues to improve the game leading up to its full release.

On the technical side, the closed beta will allow the DONTNOD ELEVEN team to test and optimized the client to improve the framerate, especially on low end machines. The developers will also keep close watch on the game statistics so they can improve the matchmaking algorithm to create the most balanced and competitive sessions possible.

Players are encouraged to visit the Official BATTLECREW™ Space Pirates Forums and leave their closed beta feedback and report any bugs they may encounter – http://steamcommunity.com/app/411480

Torment: Tides of Numenera Interactive Quest Video Narrated by inXile Creative Lead Colin McComb; Torment: Tides of Numenera Goes Gold

January 12th, 2017 – Wroclaw, Poland / How do you present the intricacies of meaningful choices and their complex consequences in a game trailer? It is probably impossible – unless it’s via an interactive trailer, where you can make decisions and try out different outcomes yourself.

This is why Techland Publishing and inXile Entertainment have created an interactive quest video for Torment: Tides of Numenera – to effectively demonstrate how combinations of choices allow players to shape their own stories and leave a mark on the game’s world.

The “Interactive Quest Video” can be viewed and played here.
The video may not work properly on mobile devices – desktop computers recommended.

The video is narrated by creative lead Colin McComb, who – not unlike a traditional RPG Dungeon Master – guides the player through the quest, revealing secrets and subtle details of the world of Numenera.

Although it features several different endings, the quest showcased in the video is but a tiny sample of themes, stories, and subplots players will get to experience in Torment: Tides of Numenera. As the game has recently gone gold, players can start their final preparations for February 28th, when this science-fantasy RPG will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
