Swery Opens New Development Studio ‘White Owls’

Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro, best known for creating quirky and memorable games like Deadly Premonition and D4: Dark Dreams Don’t Die, went on hiatus from game development a few months back after leaving Access Games but it looks like he only had to take a few months off before getting back into the swing of things.

Swery has announced that he has founded his own game studio and it is called White Owls Inc. The studio is based in Osaka and features the slogan “From Osaka to all of YOU around the world!.” Currently there is little info as to what to expect from the company though they have stated that they are working on an original project, though whether it is a mobile title, or something for the PlayStation 4 is yet to be seen.

GTA Online Adds Dewbauchee Specter and Collection Time

As an added bonus, GTA Online players will get a 25% discount on all upgrades at Benny’s and the Executive Upgrade that adds a Benny’s Original Motor Works to player garages.

A new adversary mode called Collection Time has also been added to the game. The mode pits two to four teams who start the round off with a money bag each. Teams will need to simultaneously attack other teams to gain more money bags while defending their own stash. The team with the most bags at the end of the round is declared the winner. Collection Time will grant douple GTA$ and RP from now until January 30th.

PERSONA 5 – Palaces Portrayed In New Trailer

PERSONA 5 – Palaces Portrayed In New Trailer

While the Phantom Thieves keep up their guise as normal Japanese high-schoolers during the day, they travel to another world (via smart phone) to unleash their true Personas and raise some hell at night. This world is known as the Metaverse, and it’s essentially the “collective unconscious” of all mankind. In the Metaverse, the most distorted desires of people manifest themselves as Palaces, and it’s up to the Phantom Thieves to infiltrate and defeat the evils within a Palace.

In order to enter a Palace, the team picks a target, figures out certain key bits of information, and plugs it into their Metaverse Navigator app to gain access. Once the thieves are in the Palace, they must fight hordes of Shadows, solve puzzles, defeat the Palace ruler, and steal the target’s deepest darkest desire (which takes the form of Treasure). When the Treasure is stolen, the target’s heart will be changed and they’ll finally understand the evilness of their core desire. Every target in the game will have a Palace with a different look and theme, so be prepared to see some truly twisted stuff! Unfortunately for the Phantom Thieves, infiltrating a Palace is anything but easy. The team will need to use stealth and plan their moves wisely to ensure a successful heist. Sneaking by and/or ambushing Shadows is essential to reaching the Palace Treasure, so be sure to always make the first move. If the Thieves get caught too many times, they’ll be kicked out of the Metaverse and can only return the next day (always keep an eye on the security meter)!

So what do you do once you’ve challenged a Shadow to a fight? The easy answer is to send them to Shadow hell with a variety of attacks, but sometimes a more “diplomatic” solution would be more beneficial in the long run. You can “Hold Up” Shadows to negotiate with them to yield money, items, and even a chance to avoid a battle entirely. Oh, and this time around the protagonist can even convince them to join the Phantom Thieves to be utilised as a Persona! Of course, if you’re more of a shoot first ask questions later type of person, feel free to destroy all the Shadows. We’ve even included the Baton Pass feature that lets an attacking party member switch turns with another character to maximise attacking weaknesses!

Persona 5 is a game about the internal and external conflicts of a group of troubled youth who live dual lives. They have the typically ordinary day-to-day of a Tokyo high-schooler – attending class, after-school activities and part-time jobs. But they also undertake fantastical adventures by using otherworldly powers to enter the hearts of people. Their power comes from the Persona, the Jungian concept of the “self;” the game’s heroes realize that society forces people to wear masks to protect their inner vulnerabilities, and by literally ripping off their protective mask and confronting their inner selves do the heroes awaken their inner power, and use it to strive to help those in need. Ultimately, the group of Phantom Thieves seeks to change their day-to-day world to match their perception and see through the masks modern-day society wears.

Persona 5 will release on April 4th in Australia on PlayStation 4. Pre-orders are now available at participating retailers.

CI Games Announces Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 Open Beta

CI Games Announces Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 Open Beta

Sydney, Australia – January 18, 2017 — CI Games is proud to announce a special Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 open beta available worldwide for PC players on Steam. Beginning Jan. 17, players can register at http://sniperghostwarrior3.com/beta  to be given a chance to experience the beautiful open-world setting of the Republic of Georgia and get exclusive access to two single-player missions: Cut Off and Blockout. The Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 Beta will officially begin on February 3, 2017.

“We can’t wait for fans of the Sniper Ghost Warrior series to get an early taste of what’s to come when the game releases on April 4, 2017,” said Marek Tymiński, CEO of CI Games. “Since this is a technical test, we encourage everyone to give us feedback of their experiences in the Steam forums. We hope they enjoy what they play!”

Below are descriptions of the two missions available in the open beta:

Cut Off

The Separatists control a large antenna array, which lets them use satellites to track enemy movements and communicate with distant outposts. Jon needs to infiltrate this compound and manually reposition the dishes to intercept the satellite signal. Gaining access to enemy communications would give Jon and his team a tactical advantage over the enemy, as well as possible intel on his brother, Robert.

Blockout

Jon’s cooperation with the local resistance, the Rotki Lions, gave him the location of one of the targets from his Most Wanted list – a list containing the names of war criminals that Jon can neutralize to bring justice to the people of Georgia. The target is Ivan Krustchev. He’s hiding out in an abandoned apartment complex, surrounded by his guards. How will you complete this mission? Will you use your sniper rifle from the opposite building, storm the outpost with your assault rifle, or sneak past the guards and quietly take out your target?

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 launches on Windows PC, PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, and Xbox One on April 4, 2017.
