Ys Seven Arrives on PC on August 30

Not long ago XSEED Games announced plans to release Ys Seven on PCs and today the company announced exactly when this port of the PSP RPG will be released on Steam, GOG, and The Humble Store. Starting on August 30th the game will be available on all of these digital storefronts at a price point of $24.99/€24.99/£19.99 though it will be sold at a temporary discount of 10% off for one week after launch. This version of Ys Seven will feature localization adjustments, HD upscaled graphics, and run at 60FPS. The Steam version of the game will also come with the ability to earn achievements, Trading Cards, and use cloud saves.

This first fully 3D entry in the Ys series follows the story of Adol and Dogi, who end up being charged with espionage after saving a local girl from harassment by a commanding officer in the city of Altago. Once the king of Altago learns of the duo he quickly releases them and tells them of an ancient shrine that was uncovered after a recent earthquake, and asks for their help in investigating this mysterious new find unaware that this will begin a long journey with the fate of all Altago hanging in the balance.

Gal Gun VR Released on Steam

Late last year we learned that Inti Creates was working on a special version of Gal Gun that would work for virtual reality headsets and it seems that the company has not only managed to complete the game, they are already prepared to sell it as Gal Gun VR has launched on Steam for PC without any forewarning. Gal Gun VR as it is called is $29.99 and requires the use of either the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift headset to play.

Although some gameplay elements appear to be altered, the premise remains similar to previous entries in the series with players being shot by Cupid’s arrows and fending off the confessions of every woman around him in an effort to find his true love before their effects wear off and leave him alone forever. You can check out the release trailer below.

Nights of Azure 2 Battle and Level Up System Detailed

A new batch of information, as well as a new set of screenshots and a fancy little trailer, has been released for Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon and this time around Koei Tecmo is focusing on the game’s battle systems as well as how players will be leveling up in the game when it is released in the West. In the game players will encounter a large number of unique fiends that they will need to take down and they will need to rely on their close bonds with their companions to emerge victorious.

The battle party will always feature Aluche as the player character, an NPC that the player can choose, and a pair of Servans to help them out. Each member of your team will have a unique selection of skills to the equation, ranging from different fighting styles and weapons to the beautiful Lily Burst, a power-up that combines the extraordinary abilities of Aluche and her humanoid companion into a devastating blow.

Aluche’s Servan allies are also useful assets to the team, with their incredible Servan Actions, which can help turn the tide of battle in her favor! The invaluable Tricker types are able to gain an advantage by unleashing their elemental abilities, dealing critical status effects to their foes. One such Tricker is the mighty canine companion, Scharf, who sends electrified spheres onto the battlefield to paralyze and inflict lasting damage on enemies! Trickers can change form as they evolve, and can grow more powerful through Reincarnation, which drastically increases their stats, allowing them to access new types of attacks and unlock incredible abilities.

As for the Aluche, she soon discovers that the blood of slain fiends can be used to heighten her body’s strength, and players are able to choose new abilities fitting their preferred play-style from a wide selection of varied combat styles. You can check out all of the screenshots and the video below and keep an eye out for Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon when it is released in the West for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 24th in North America and October 27th in Europe.

LIFE IS STRANGE: BEFORE THE STORM ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH BRITISH INDIE-FOLK BAND, DAUGHTER

LIFE IS STRANGE: BEFORE THE STORM ANNOUNCES PARTNERSHIP WITH BRITISH INDIE-FOLK BAND, DAUGHTER

Original musical score goes on general sale September 1st 2017

SYDNEY, 8th August 2017 – SQUARE ENIX®, publisher of award-winning and best-selling videogame franchises such as FINAL FANTASY® and TOMB RAIDER®, today announced that the original musical score for LIFE IS STRANGE™: BEFORE THE STORM, the next game in the award-winning, multi-million copy selling, episodic LIFE IS STRANGE franchise, will feature music by British indie-folk band Daughter. The original music score entitled “Music From Before The Storm” will be released via Glassnote Records/4AD on September 1st  2017. The game features all the tracks on Music from Before the Storm as well as additional licensed tracks including two classic tracks from Daughters back catalogue.

The game was officially unveiled as part of the Xbox E3 Briefing in June. The first of three episodes will be released on Xbox One®, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Windows PC on August 31st 2017.

“Life is Strange is a game that evokes a lot of emotion in people and, alongside great storytelling and characterisation, it’s music that plays a huge role in this”, said Jon Brooke Vice President for Brand Marketing, Square Enix London Studios. “It was really important for us to find a great collaboration for original music alongside our licensed tracks to capture the raw emotion of our game and Daughter fit that bill perfectly. Once we’d heard all the tracks for the game we really wanted the album to have a full release so our fans could enjoy them over and over. We’re really thankful and excited to be on the brink of a Life is Strange Daughter album release, we hope everyone enjoys the tracks as much as we expect.”

“We are so proud to have written the soundtrack for “Life Is Strange: Before the Storm”, said Elena Tonra, Daughter Lead Singer. “It was our first experience working on an original soundtrack, and are so honoured to have been given the opportunity to work with the team. We loved the story on first read as it centres around realistic female lead characters who are emotional, intelligent, sensitive and badass in equal measure. I think the characters themselves have really inspired the soundscapes we have created. It was a pleasure to be involved.”

“We wanted to have fun with this project so we made something we felt could be a soundtrack for the characters in the game themselves”, said Igor Haefeli, founding band member. It was also important for us to make sure this collection of songs and pieces of music stood on their own so we really went that extra mile. We hope players and non-players alike will equally enjoy it.”

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Absolution DLC Available Now on PS4, Xbox One and PC

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Absolution DLC Available Now on PS4, Xbox One and PC

Absolution Features Content for All Types of Players, Including Four New Multiplayer Maps that Reward a Variety of Different Call of Duty Play Styles

New Zombies Co-Op Experience “Attack of the Radioactive Thing!” Takes Players to the 1950s, Stars Cassandra Peterson Reprising Her Iconic Role of Elvira, Mistress of the Dark

August 9, 2017 – Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Absolution, the third DLC Map Pack for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Published by Activision and developed by Infinity Ward, Absolution features four new, diverse multiplayer maps that are designed to showcase the diverse play styles experienced within the game. The DLC pack also includes “Attack of the Radioactive Thing!” with actress Cassandra Peterson starring as Elvira in a 1950s Creature Feature zombies experience.

Attack of the Radioactive Thing!, the next action-packed chapter of the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare zombies story, once again features the return of Willard Wyler, the merciless movie director villain portrayed with voice and likeness by Paul Reubens (Pee-wee’s Big Holiday, Gotham). Wyler has trapped the four protagonists inside an all-new horror film in the style of the classic, Creature Feature movies from the 1950s. Players will fight against a new array of zombie enemies across a ravaged beach town where a government science experiment has transformed the residents into flesh-devouring zombies and introduced a new biological menace into the city. Additionally, horror movie icon Elvira, played with voice and likeness by Cassandra Peterson (Elvira: Mistress of the Dark, Elvira’s Movie Macabre), will help players survive and give them gameplay tips and side quests with her unique Elvira style. New weapons, traps and more, will augment the hallmark Call of Duty zombies action fans know and love, with Seth Green (Robot Chicken, Austin Powers) as “the Scientist;” Ike Barinholtz (Neighbors, Suicide Squad) as “the Rebel;” Jay Pharoah (White Famous, Saturday Night Live) as “the Soldier;” and Sasheer Zamata (Saturday Night Live, Pizza Mind) as “the School Girl,” all making a return to the ongoing story in this all-new experience.

In addition to Attack of the Radioactive Thing!, Absolution will also include four new multiplayer maps:

  • Bermuda – A shantytown created around the remnants of a crashed ship, Bermuda allows players to duck, dive, and wall ride from the fish market to the lighthouse in this small to medium sized map that’s been water-wasted and sandblasted.
  • Permafrost – Set within the chill of a frozen city skyline, Permafrost lets players stick to the ground and pick their plan of attack in one of three main lanes. They will traverse the map, moving from street side to train station, and hobo village to wrecked theatre house in this small, tight-quarters map.
  • Fore – In Fore, the only thing miniature about this large map is the golf courses players will be fighting in. Fore features great visual variety as players swing around the sights and sounds of areas that brandish magical forests, giant creamsicles, and elevated castle walls.
  • Ember – Located near an old town castle, Ember is a remake of the Modern Warfare® 3 classic map Resistance, featuring old world aesthetics retrofitted with modern technology. The surroundings include lava, gallows and a torture room, where players will want to stick close to their teammates.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Absolution DLC Map Pack is available via the Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Season Pass, which can be purchased on its own or obtained as part of the Legacy Pro or Digital Deluxe editions of the game. Season Pass gives discounted access to all four Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare DLC Map Packs released during 2017 (discount based on a Season Pass suggested retail price of AUD$64.95/NZD$69.95 and four individual DLC Map Packs at a suggested retail price of AUD$19.95/NZD$22.95 each). Upon purchase, Season Pass owners also receive three new base weapons, as well as 10 Rare Supply Drops and 1,000 bonus Salvage Credits to craft new prototype weapons.

Call of Duty Documentary ‘CODumentary’ Releasing Worldwide by Devolver Digital Films on September 19th

Call of Duty Documentary ‘CODumentary’ Releasing Worldwide by Devolver Digital Films on September 19th

Feature-length documentation of game’s meteoric rise to global blockbuster status to release on major VOD platforms worldwide and on the Steam Store

AUSTIN – August 8th, 2017 – Devolver Digital Films announces CODumentary, a documentary following a story centered about the blockbuster video game Call of Duty, releasing worldwide on VOD on Tuesday, September 19th at 10 AM PST.

The 93-minute feature documentary, created in the UK by Jonathan Beales, explores how the video game Call of Duty grew into one of the biggest global entertainment franchise blockbusters of all time. Video game publisher/film distributor Devolver Digital will release the documentary worldwide on the Steam Store and on VOD via Amazon on September 19th, to be followed by releases on iTunes, Google Play, MGo, Playstation, Xbox, TubiTV, Indie Reign, and the Indie Rights Vimeo Channel, as well as a DVD/Blu-Ray release with dates to be announced.

The documentary details how Call of Duty, created in 2003 by Infinity Ward, faced strong competition in its early days from a host of similar high quality WWII games yet managed to rise to the top and sustain its position with a growing global fan base.

Critically acclaimed by both fans and media, the release of Modern Warfare in 2007 took the multi-player competitive element to a whole new level through a fast action innovative game-play design structure.

Filmed across North America, the UK & Europe including the D-Day beaches, the story in CODumentary is told by developers, fans, professional players and numerous games experts, who describe in rich detail what makes the game so special and why it’s been so successful from launch to the present day. Jonathan Beales is an industry professional with over 31 years experience in video games media & marketing spanning print, radio, web and television.

“One of the biggest challenges making the film was encapsulating a 15 year timeline into 93 minutes,” says producer Jonathan Beales. “I was very fortunate to work with a lot of great people whose input and contribution really helped make this happen. It’s a rich story of evolution told through the eyes of games developers, fans, industry experts and professional players. It’s a big documentary and we wanted to put the fans first so took the opportunity to host two full screenings at DreamHack Atlanta that were a big success.”

Beales continued, “It’s been a great 5-year journey and though documentary is centered on video games, the story is always about the human input and endeavor involved. The rich experiences of developing games, playing them or waiting in line to buy them will always remain center stage.”

Grimecraft’s Latest Remix Features LEGION’s International Heartthrob Sensation, August Gaunt

Grimecraft’s Latest Remix Features LEGION’s International Heartthrob Sensation, August Gaunt

Sworn Enemy of the Agents of Mayhem, August Gaunt Taps Gaming’s DJ Powerhouse for Epic Boomfest

Larkspur, Calif. – August 8th, 2017 – August Gaunt, the chiseled icon and prestigious LEGION lieutenant facing misguided opposition and baseless accusations by the Agents of Mayhem, has now been remixed by producer and award-winning DJ extraordinaire Grimecraft.

SoundCloud Link: https://soundcloud.com/deepsilvermusic/agents-of-mayhem-mixtape-grimecraft/

An expert in spinning foot-tapping beats and channeling classics into fresh, electronically-charged melodies, Grimecraft is the perfect complement to the world’s reigning king of pop, August Gaunt. The rising producer fainted a single time during August Gaunt’s gracious offer to collaborate, a physical feat that’s only surpassed by his masterful contribution to this new global summer anthem.

“I’ve been told some people don’t have lucrative Silicon Valley deals to cover their San Francisco winter homes, so letting Grimecraft work with the best vocals in the business felt like the right thing to do,” August Gaunt said as he deafeningly revved Tiffany, the vehicular crown jewel in his garage. “Giving back just feels good, you know? And the free PR boost should help make up for my next inevitable VIP rager.”

The collaboration graces fans ahead of August Gaunt’s upcoming charity concert with K-Pop sensation Aisha, which will be another prime example of music’s baby-faced salvation giving back to humanity despite enduring a ridiculous pursuit by MAYHEM, a band of misfits (including an alleged ex-adult film star) out to “save the world” who couldn’t harmonize to save their lives.

For future tour dates and chances to donate toward August Gaunt’s next artistically-freeing mansion, keep refreshing www.aomthegame.com. For chances to liberate August Gaunt from MAYHEM’s harassment by taking down the team from inside, check out Agents of Mayhem on August 15th.
