Crytek Reveals Extraordinary Plans for Warface at Gamescom 2017

Crytek Reveals Extraordinary Plans for Warface at Gamescom 2017

Special Mission: Pripyat, takes Players Into the Sinister Setting of the Chernobyl Ravaged Ghost Town

On the occasion of the annual gamescom in Cologne, global publisher My.com and developer Crytek studio, known for the Far Cry and Crysis series, revealed first details for a new special mission coming to its online shooter Warface. Set in the most renown city of the Chernobyl exclusion zone, “Pripyat” will mark a new milestone in the franchise featuring a rich narrative and new gameplay mechanics for players to discover later this year.

The special operation will be a new large-scale mission, which transports players to the actual site of the Chernobyl disaster. Currently being developed for a late 2017 release, this update is slated to be one of the most ambitious missions that the game has seen to date in both its plot and graphic realism.

Pripyat’s atmospheric setting is sure to make an impression on players, especially fans of post-apocalyptic settings. To ensure the recreation of the authentic environment, developer Crytek visited the exclusion zone several times and studied the terrain allowing them to accurately capture the frightening atmosphere of this tragic place.

“Pripyat is an infamously dangerous place, and now we will give players a chance to find themselves right in the heart of this abandoned city. Once this special operation goes live, it will mark an important milestone in both Warface’s gameplay and plot and will set the stage for a whole series of future plot-related updates, said Michael Khaimzon, creative director of Crytek. “In other words, Pripyat launches a new era in Warface, and our players should be ready for the disclosure of many plot details and secrets.”

In addition to new plot points, “Pripyat” will include an entirely new set of enemies and bosses with uniquely refined combat styles for players to face off against, forcing them to hone their skills and teamwork.

Warface is a popular online co-op shooter from Crytek studio with more than 48 million registered users worldwide. In the beginning of 2017, global publisher My.com took over the publishing and operations of Warface in Europe and North America. The new publisher actively invests in the game on the international market, developing its eSports activities and tournaments including the recently announced first international tournament season Warface Open Cup, which will launch in Europe and in the USA. The winners will proceed to the LAN-Finals in Moscow in early 2018. Teams from Europe, North America, Brazil and Russia will be competing in this tournament.

Since the game is the final odyssey for Kazuma Kiryu, it’s only right to send him off with our first-ever Yakuza premium edition. Unwind after a long day of babysitting and skull-cracking with the “After Hours” premium edition for the suggested retail price of AUD$139.95 in their respective regions. It will contain:

  • Hardcover Art Book – The intense human drama and magnetic world of Yakuza 6 will be on display in this stunning art book. We’ll have more details on what will fill the pages at a later date.
  • 2 Bar Glasses (280ml) – Designed with Kiryu’s ferocious dragon tattoo, these bar glasses are the perfect receptacles for your beverage of choice.
  • 2 Ice Stones – Cool down your drinks with a pair of heat action branded ice stones! One features the flame heat action icon, while the other has the Japanese “kiwami” heat action icon. Chilling has never been so… extreme.
  • 2 Coasters – A true yakuza knows how to relax with class, so coasters are a must have when lounging after hours. Protect table surfaces with style by placing your glasses on top of official Tojo Clan branded coasters. Plus, you won’t need to play the “is this my drink?” game because of their inverted colours!
  • An Outer Box – All of these essential tools will be housed within a collectable outer box.

If indulging in libations isn’t up your alley, you can pre-order or grab the limited launch edition of the game which contains a sleek hardcover art book that also doubles as the disc holder!

In Yakuza 6, Kazuma Kiryu will find out exactly how much people are willing to sacrifice for family – be those ties through blood or bond – when he investigates a series of shadowy events that involve the ones he holds closest to his heart. Fresh out of a three-year prison sentence, an older and weathered Kiryu comes to find out that his surrogate daughter, Haruka, has gone missing from the orphanage he looks after. The trail leads him to his old stomping grounds in Kamurocho, where he discovers that she has been struck by a car and now lies in a coma. To make matters worse, Kiryu learns that Haruka now has a son that he must look after. With baby in hand, Kiryu journeys to the seaside town of Onomichi, Hiroshima to unravel the truth about Haruka, her son, and a sinister secret that the Hiroshima yakuza are harbouring.

From the unparalleled realism of the new setting of Onomichi, a beautiful, sleepy port town in Hiroshima Prefecture, to the latest evolution of Kamurocho, the biggest red-light district in Tokyo, Yakuza 6 is the ultimate iteration the game’s blend of gritty crime story, hyper-explosive combat, and all the vices and distractions those locales have to offer.

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life features:

  • Enter the “Dragon Engine” – Explore the world of Yakuza like never before. Yakuza 6 is the first current-gen Yakuza title that was developed from the ground up for the PS4, introducing the seedy Japanese underworld with detailed visuals, lifelike animations, a new physics engine, interactive storefronts, seamless transitions and more. That’s right! Fights can start on the streets and end in a pile of shattered glass, scattered snacks, and bruised bodies on the floor of the nearest Poppo convenience store.
  • Explore Kamurocho Reborn and the Scenic Views of Onomichi – Speaking of Dragon Engine, the hypnotic lights, opportunistic inhabitants, and hedonistic distractions of Kamurocho look better than ever. Revamped minigames like karaoke, batting cages, darts, hostesses, and the SEGA arcade have been streamlined for maximum pleasure, and new additions like the RIZAP Gym, Cat Café, and Clan Creator are the purrfect distractions after a long night of bashing heads! But it’s also time to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life to play tourist in beautiful Onomichi. This tranquil coastal community is home to plenty of local activities like bar mingling, spearfishing (think action-packed rail shooter … with fish), and more!
  • Let the Bodies Hit the FloorYakuza 6 Kiryu is a 100% certified thugifed OG, so that means he’s a battle-hardened veteran when it comes to the art of street fighting. Although he utilizes one fighting style this time around, you best believe Kiryu hits like a truck. Devastating combos and bone-breaking Heat Actions make a return, but now the Dragon of Dojima can fill up a meter to engage Extreme Heat Mode. When activated, Kiryu glows blue and unleashes heavy-damage combos with his fists or any “tool” that’s close at hand. Painting painful masterpieces has never felt so good.
  • Fully Voiced Japanese Audio – For the first time in series history, every line and piece of dialogue is fully voiced in Japanese. Let the dramatic story and absurd humour of the series unfold like an interactive foreign film experience.

The game has not yet been rated and for more information please visit: http://yakuza.sega.com.

SOLD OUT announce new action RPG title from TOADMAN INTERACTIVE

Immortal: Unchained, is a hardcore action RPG set in a dark, sci-fi universe – a unique take on a well-known sub-genre, blending a third-person action shooter with a hardcore RPG, coming to PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One in 2018.

This is the end; the game’s central character is unwillingly unchained and released by the warden. Given only the instruction that time is running out for the world and that your skills are now needed. You must set off with no memory of who you are or what you do and find any information you can from the game and the characters you meet. However, the truth is not always clear as characters will always put their own agenda first and discovering the truth is just as much a challenge as the gameplay and just as much of a reward.

Immortal: Unchained is a fresh new take on the emerging souls genre, “said
Sarah Hoeksma, Marketing Director, Sold Out. “It is not for the faint-hearted and is a seriously challenging game. The story and range combat really sets us apart from other games out there and we’re really excited to finally be showing Toadman’s first IP to everyone at Gamescom.”

From the writers of Battlefield 1 and The Witcher, the game features a diverse arsenal of unique weaponry for ranged and melee combat to aid you in exploring the world as you encounter brutal enemies and gigantic boss fights. Immortal’s range combat mechanics allow for tactical point-of-contact shooting to play strategically for your needs, when slowing down an enemy or disarming them may be more beneficial to gameplay than simply blasting them away.

Immortal will be available on the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system and Xbox One in Q2 2018.
