SKY NOON PRESENTS THE AIR POWERED ARSENAL OF THE REIMAGINED WILD WEST
Saddle Up for the Closed Beta This April and Join the Official Discord Channel Launching Today
Independent game developer Lunar Rooster and indie games partner Reverb Triple XP have released today an all new trailer for their reimagined western Sky Noon that showcases all of the various weapons and tools that are at player’s disposal. From the huge AOE blast of the “Jail Breaker” Hand Cannon, to the automatic fire of the “Road Runner” Machine Pistol, there’s a weapon for every player’s style in Sky Noon. But remember pardner – in this first person action brawler, these guns aren’t equipped with bullets! They all hold powerful rounds of compressed air bursts perfectly suitable for blasting opponents off the floating islands!
Gamers ready to cowboy up into Sky Noon are in luck! Reverb Triple XP will be taking sign-ups to a special Closed Beta that will take place this April. Please sign-up HERE to take part in the Sky Noon Closed Beta and stay tuned for more details on the official Sky Noon Discord channel.
Wooah Nelly, that’s right! The Official Sky Noon Discord Channel also launches today and gamers should join the Sky Noon posse for future news on the game, social events, and giveaway promotions: discord.gg/skynoon
Some of the rip-roaring weapons and tools featured in Sky Noon:
Machine Pistol aka Road Runner: Target other players with endless bursts of air as the Machine Pistol is fully equipped to handle a large quantity of air rounds.
Shotgun aka Typhoon: The range of the Shotgun may be short, but with a wide spread shooting capacity, players will be able to efficiently take down their opponents.
Revolver aka Ol’ Faithful: For the player who has dreamed of being a western sharp shooter ala John Wayne, the Revolver is the perfect weapon to pick off your enemies with precision.
Hand Cannon aka Jail Breaker: The Hand Cannon is the gun for players who want to send their opponents blasting off into the clouds with a powerful BOOM!
Grappling Hook aka…The Lifeline: Players can use the grappling hook to latch onto buildings, crates, or the floating islands themselves to save themselves from being eliminated!
Sky Noon takes place in a reinvented Wild West universe where the frontier floats among the clouds. Powerful cartels crave to control the most precious resource in the West: water. Players take the role of hired gunslingers that battle opposing fighters across floating islands in the sky. There are no health meters in Sky Noon; instead, to eliminate enemies, players use various super-power compressed air weapons to send them flying out of their boot spurs! Grappling hooks and lassos must constantly be used to prevent players from falling off into the great blue sky. Combined with other items like steam-powered jetpacks, jump pads, and teleporters, cowboys need to be quick on the draw and light on their boots in the fast-paced, aerial mayhem of Sky Noon.
Sky Noon will be launching on Steam Early Access in Q2 2018. Cowboys looking to join the gang should follow the game development on Twitter, “Like” us on Facebook, connect on Discord, and visit the official site, SkyNoonGame.com.

Doug Cockle — the English voice of Geralt of Rivia — returns in SOULCALIBUR VI to reprise the role. Gamers will also be able to fight in Kaer Morhen — home keep of the School of the Wolf. Accompanying players in battle will be “Hunt or be Hunted” — an iconic composition from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt soundtrack.
“SOULCALIBUR is well known in the fighting games genre for including iconic guest characters. When we were approached with the idea of doing a crossover, we thought our community would really enjoy playing as the witcher,” said Marcin Momot, Community Lead at CD PROJEKT RED. “We’ve collaborated with BANDAI NAMCO artists to faithfully recreate Geralt, and shared original Witcher 3 assets like Geralt’s model, animations, and weapons. I think BANDAI NAMCO did an outstanding job of capturing all the details and introducing The Witcher to SOULCALIBUR in a way fans of both series will enjoy.”
“All SOULCALIBUR characters have strong convictions and complex backgrounds and this is why it is a great honor for the whole SOULCALIBUR team to welcome Geralt as the guest character in SOULCALIBUR VI.” said SOULCALIBUR producer, Motohiro Okubo. “Thanks to the great cooperation with CD PROJEKT RED, we’ve been able to fully integrate Geralt’s fighting style and appearance. We can’t wait for SOULCALIBUR fans around the world to welcome Geralt to the stage of History.”

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – MARCH 15, 2018 – After 28 years of leadership in the gaming industry, Jack Tretton has set his sights on working with a number of innovative software developers in hopes of helping them grow their business. Interactive Gaming Ventures will provide experienced indie developers with much needed investment capital and management strategy to help them achieve greater scale and success. Over the last four years since starting his own consulting firm, Tretton realized that despite a rich talent pool of creative independent developers, many face challenges getting financial support for their projects and lack the long term experience of providing go to market solutions and corporate relationships to maximize their success. With funding in place, Interactive Gaming Ventures will seek to identify the best possible partners to achieve commercial success for all parties.
“Traditional private equity and venture firms appreciate the 100 billion dollar size of the gaming industry, but most lack the understanding and the comfort level to invest in it,” said Jack Tretton, Managing Partner, Interactive Gaming Ventures. “We provide these studios structure, cash infusion, and use our relationships to ensure that they are getting an appropriate share of voice from first parties backed by investors that know the industry and seek the outstanding financial returns that a well run publisher can provide.”
Tretton is joined by Managing Partner Doug Kennedy, the CEO of Studio Wildcard who drove its mega-hit ARK: Survival Evolved to more than 13M copies sold. Kennedy co-founded Reverb Communications, veteran PR agency, that helped launch mega hits Guitar Hero, Rock Band and PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS. In 2009, Kennedy launched Reverb’s indie publishing initiative to discover small, funded studios and bring their games to PC and console. Tretton and Kennedy’s combined 50 years of experience bring a high level of expertise in all aspects of successfully bringing games to market.
Interactive Gaming Ventures will provide the following resources to 2-3 select studios per year, allowing them to focus 100% of their attention on building games:

War Thunder Moves To Dagor 5.0 Engine: Improved Graphics and Sounds
Massive Update 1.77 ‘Advancing Storm’ enhances visuals, audio, and enters next-gen armored warfare with M1 Abrams, Challenger 1, Leopard 2K, T-64B & more
Thursday, March 15th, 2018 — Gaijin Entertainment today announced the release of major Update 1.77‘Advancing Storm’ for its vehicular combat MMOG War Thunder. “Advancing Storm” introduces the PC and console versions of War Thunder to Gaijin’s new and improved Dagor 5.0 engine, capable of near photo realistic environments and vehicles. The update also adds nearly two dozen new vehicles, including five next generation tanks on Rank VI: the M1 Abrams, Challenger 1, Leopard 2K, T-64B and AMX-30B2 Brenus.
Among the graphical improvements introduced with Dagor Engine 5.0 are technologies like Global Illumination (GI) and Contact Shadows. Together with photorealistic weather effects, volumetric fog and smoke, War Thunder is now visually more much more life-like and detailed. Also new is Temporal Anti-Aliasing (Variance Clipping TAA), an anti-aliasing algorithm that greatly reduces the visible “noise” on distant vegetation, smooths the appearance of objects, and adds more detail to surfaces. Furthermore, the creation of landscapes was improved with the addition of visible reliefs via displacement mapping, resulting in much more visually diverse environments. Roads, for example, now have potholes, ruts and may show puddles of slush, water or mud – with the latter depending on the current weather and type of terrain. These landscape changes are visible to players on all graphics settings.
Accompanying the visual improvements is a complete redesign of in-game sound effects. Each shot effect is now created from several layers of sounds that correspond to peak and residual effects. Thus, experienced tankers are now able to determine the caliber of the cannon that fired the shot, even from distance. The effects themselves received additional details, so players can now hear the sound of cases dropping as they fire, or the working loading mechanisms of their cannons. Aircraft sounds are more vibrant and powerful. Further improvements are also planned for future updates.
Several next generation main battle tanks of the 1970s and 1980s now reinforce the arsenal of War Thunder on Rank VI: the U.S. M1 Abrams, British Challenger 1, German Leopard 2K, Soviet T-64B and French AMX-30B2 Brenus. All of them boast powerful weapons, armor, high speed, and mobility. Noteworthy here is the special cannon of the T-64B that allows it to fire ‘Cobra’ guided anti-tank missiles and the AMX-30B2 Brenus’ powerful reactive armor. Some of the vehicles introduced with Update 1.77 are still in service today.
German pilots can look forward to the heavy Heinkel He 177 A-5 Greif bomber, which was created by a War Thunder player under the Revenue Share Partner Program. You can follow up on the He 177’s creation process on War Thunder Live: http://live.warthunder.com
Update 1.77 ‘Advancing Storm’ features plenty of other graphical improvements, vehicles and changes. Read more on the official War Thunder website: http://www.warthunder.com
