Dreadspire Challenge Dungeon Returns to TERA with Phantom’s Keep Update, Now Live

July Monthly Update Includes Updated Versions of Popular Dungeons and Expanded Guardian Legion Events; Monthly Leveling Event for Lancers

SEATTLE, July 12, 2018 — En Masse Entertainment, a player-driven publisher focused on delivering great games and great service, today released Phantom’s Keep, the latest monthly content update for their flagship True Action Combat MMO on PC, TERA. Phantom’s Keep includes content for both dungeoneers and open world content fans, with two popular dungeons returning with fresh mechanical and loot updates and the addition of a new type of open world Guardian Legion event: The Dragon Hunt.

As the world of TERA evolves, so should the dungeons that players can tackle! Two previously released dungeons, the popular Dreadspire and Manglemire, are back and better than ever with a fresh set of improvements. Players will once again put their skills to the test as they battle their way up each of Dreadspire’s 10 increasingly difficult floors, earnings a chance at newly introduced Phantom themed armor costume if they clear them all. The deviously mad cyclops Manglemore is back with a fresh bag of tricks ready to keep players guessing in the reintroduced Manglemire dungeon, which will be coming back for limited periods as an event dungeon with the first full weekend taking place July 20- 22. Outwit and overpower Manglemore to earn crafting materials to upgrade gear and take on greater challenges.

Also included are the 2018 Innerwear armor sets Catnap and Catspaw. These are available in game in the Undergarment Box and are purchasable with Goldfinger tokens, an in-game currency that players can get from various means, or through the cash shop. Each method gives players access to one of five different types – Empowering to increase power, Fitness to increase Maximum HP, Fortified to increase Crit Factor, Insulated to increase Endurance, and Performance to increase Maximum MP.

The monthly leveling events kicked off in June continue, with the lancer class being the lucky winner for July. Players who create new or level up older lancers they never reached the level cap with will be rewarded with boxes of in-game goodies at various level milestones. These rewards can only be earned once per server during the respective leveling event. The event will end Wednesday, August 1 at 4:00AM PT / 7:00AM ET, when the August event will kick off for another class. Elite Status players will also be able to take advantage of the Elite Discount Sale this coming weekend giving players discounts on nearly every item in the TERA PC store. This sale begins today and will run until Monday, July 16 at 11:00 AM.

Playniac Brings Its Revolutionary Approach to Card Battling to All Major Platforms this Week Filled with Charm, Humor, Depth, and Multiplayer Appeal

LONDON — Jul 10, 2018 — Award-winning games studio, Playniac, is excited to announce that the robot rebellion has officially begun! The unique card battler, Insane Robots, launches today for PlayStation®4 with Standard ($19.99 USD) and Deluxe ($32.99 USD) editions available for purchase on the PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store. The robot rebellion will proceed as planned, also launching for Windows and Mac (via Steam) on July 12, and Xbox One on July 13. For players truly committed to the cause, the Insane Robots — Deluxe Edition includes the base game plus a season pass including six robot pack DLCs upon release.

Initially created as a tabletop prototype with a pile of old business cards, the creators of Insane Robots at Playniac have pulled from both physical and digital design processes, creating a card battling game that captures what players love most about the genre, while removing the elements they hate: namely expensive card expansions, time-consuming customization, farming, and an ever-rising bar that excludes players who don’t purchase more cards. This laser focus freed Playniac to create the perfectly designed battle deck. With only 22 tokens, it is easy to learn and manage, yet full of unexpected turns and strategic depth.

Not to be confused with a collectible card game (CCG), Insane Robots is card battling… HACKED!

Insane Robots finds players leading a robot rebellion through randomly generated survival arenas. Full of fiendish card battles, it’s FTL meets Battle Royale in a card game. Overthrow the malevolent robot despot, The Kernel. Save robotkind in an epic 15+ hour single-player campaign full of peril and twists, as a decaying robot dystopia is revealed.

Master the battle deck and develop strategies in super-accessible multiplayer local and online, as well as single-player robotic skirmishes. Deploy HACKS and GLITCHES in the heat of battle and use your wits to terminate the competition. Battle with over 46 deliciously diverse robots in five hostile environments. Augment devious droids to grow more powerful and trade cutting, robotic insults with opponents along the way.

Key Features Include:

  • This is card battling HACKED with no costly expansions and time-consuming customization
  • Compete in intense local and online ranked 2P multiplayer battles
  • Experience the epic 15+ hour single-player campaign, overthrow the megalomaniacal Kernel and save robotkind
  • Unlock 46 robots and find over 100 augments to boost their abilities
  • Explore your tactical options to survive randomly generated survival arenas
  • Master the 22-token battle deck and define your own style of play
  • A compelling narrative with over 150 branching story events
  • Explore five types of hazardous environment from lush jungles to barren Moonscapes

Developed by Playniac, Insane Robots is rated E for Everyone.

About Insane Robots
The core Insane Robots battle system was originally created in 15 minutes as a tabletop prototype using a pile of old business cards. This was only the start of a substantial physical and digital design process. The Playniac team has been playing and iterating the game since then, running tabletop sessions in their studio and at festivals worldwide during 2013-2014. Development of the digital game started in Jan 2015 and 15 people have worked on it including developer/designer Tom Kail (80 Days, Biome); artists Catherine Unger (Snipperclips, Detecive Grimoire, Haunt the House, The Swindle), Fran Court (Hue, Stealth Inc 2, Frozen Synapse 2, New Art Academy 3DS) and Belinda Leung (Total War, Pokemon Art Academy); illustrator Karen ‘bitmOO’ Teixeira (Twelve a Dozen, Oceans Heart); writers Yasmeen Khan (Fallen London) and James Wallis (The Extraordinary Adventures of Baron Munchausen, Paranoia RPG); and designer/developer Rob Davis (International Racing Squirrels, Cat On Yer Head, Anomaly X). The game’s soundtrack includes tracks by Noise 5000 and legendary French electro producer Kid Loco.

Dark Devotion Story Trailer Reveals an Unsettling World of Deadly Dedication and Sacrifice

May His Chant Guide You

PARIS – July 11, 2018 – Publisher The Arcade Crew and developer Hibernian Workshop revealed the story trailer for the upcoming ethereal Dark Devotion, coming to PC and consoles. The beautifully animated 2D trailer tells of an unforgiving world of divinity and sacrifice where only the most gifted souls (or most tenacious) will discover the entire truth of the mysterious and deadly Temple.

Nominated for Best Graphics and Best Game at Bitsummit 2018, Dark Devotion combines a graceful handmade art style and deep gameplay mechanics, providing players with an unrelenting challenge where you’ll risk everything you’ve ever known and loved.

You are not alone on your journey. Many sanctimonious warriors came looking to solve the mystery of the Temple and to find their salvation, guided by the chant like moths to a divine light. Every conversation with those you encounter – even the Doomed Ones locked with you – could reveal a key piece of information. The Temple itself can seem a terrible enemy, and you’ll need to avoid its twisted traps and overcome obstacles between you and the truth.

Dark Devotion is a story of secrets, perseverance and dedication: every chest or item you encounter holds another secret to the story – letters, weapons and clues dropped around by your misfortunate fellows can be used to help you on your quest.

ABLEGAMERS FOUNDATION AND KEY PARTNERS DONATE $10,000 IN ASSISTIVE GAMING EQUIPMENT TO CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL IN NEW ORLEANS

Video Game Charity Teams Up with Microsoft, Humble Bundle and HyperX to Provide CHNOLA Patients with Disabilities the Tech to Run, Jump, Fly and Play in a Virtual World

CHARLES TOWN, WV (JULY 11, 2018) AbleGamers Foundation — the leading charity organization using the power of gaming to break down the barriers of economic and social isolation for people with disabilities — is overjoyed to announce today that Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana (CHNOLA) is the recipient of the non-profit’s July 2018 Expansion Pack. The Expansion Pack includes a donation of approximately $10,000 worth of assistive technologies, custom controllers, specialized training sessions and video games. Sharing AbleGamers’ vision to allow everyone to enjoy video games, technology and gaming brands Microsoft, Humble Bundle and HyperX have generously sponsored the upcoming event. The latest AbleGamers’ Expansion Pack will enable hundreds of young patients with disabilities at CHNOLA — the only free-standing, full-service hospital exclusively for children in Louisiana and the Gulf South — to find comfort through, and integrate video games, into their treatment plans.

“We’re so grateful for the support of AbleGamers and all the other sponsors who are donating items as part of this Expansion Pack,” said Rene Assetta Guilbeau, Director, Child Life and Creative Therapies at CHNOLA. “Hospitals can be a scary place for children and research has shown that playing video games can serve as a much-needed distraction – or even help as a therapy tool. Providing this specialized equipment will allow our patients to enjoy video games regardless of their disabilities, which will hopefully brighten up their days and allow them to have a little fun.”

AbleGamers will begin installation of CHNOLA’s Expansion Pack on July 12, 2018, serving the hospital’s Gilda Trautman Newman Rehabilitation Center. Accessibility experts from AbleGamers will work with CHNOLA’s healthcare professionals to install and maintain the contents of the Expansion Pack throughout the life of the project. Each pack contains AbleGamers’ wide range of accessible technologies from custom-crafted controllers to professionally made accessibility devices such as Microsoft’s recently announced Xbox Adaptive Controller (which was developed in-part with the aid of AbleGamers Foundation), ensuring fun gaming experiences for patients regardless of their ability.

“Everyone deserves to have fun,” said Mark Barlet, Executive Director and Founder of AbleGamers. “We believe with the right set of tools and training, every hospital can have the ability to use video games for fun and rehabilitation. Some patients have a permanent disability, some have a temporary disability, and others are just sick and need a place to retreat away from the pain. Video games provide that way to escape from your troubles, make new friends, or stay connected to loved ones. That’s why I couldn’t be happier we are able to help wonderful places like the New Orleans Children’s Hospital.”

Some of the video game industry’s biggest companies helped make this Expansion Pack possible through their generous donations:

Microsoft is donating a bundle of family-friendly games as part of CHNOLA’s Expansion Pack and hardware and peripheral maker HyperX, a leader in the gaming community and frequently involved in charitable activities, is providing award-winning Could Alpha headsets, Alloy Elite RGB keyboard and Pulsefire Surge Mouse and mouse pads. Other AbleGamers partners providing support include video game retailer and publisher Humble Bundle, who contributed proceeds from their Humble Monthly Bundle.

In addition to the upcoming Expansion Pack deployment at CHNOLA, AbleGamers is also teaming up with Microsoft Studios for the upcoming Gears Pro Circuit and Halo Championship Series tournaments being held at the New Orleans Convention Center from July 13 – 15, 2018. This unique esports event will feature simultaneous standalone tournaments with non-stop action as players compete for a coveted prize pool. As part of this Expansion Pack, local members of AbleGamers and patients of CHNOLA will attend the event free-of-charge for a weekend of behind-the-scenes looks, gaming and to root for their favorite pro gamers.

First launched in early 2016, the AbleGamers Expansion Pack program provides free customized packages of assistive gaming technologies to facilities with special needs patients as a way to ensure gaming experiences are widely accessible to everyone, including those with physical disabilities. In the program’s first year alone, AbleGamers donated six Expansion Packs to various medical institutions, sending out $100,000 worth of accessible technology such as modified controllers and other devices, as well as providing on-site training and support. With the support of gamers and sponsors, AbleGamers aims to increase the size and frequency of future Expansion Packs. Those who would like to donate can do so at https://ablegamers.donordrive.com/donate.

If you would like to arrange an interview with AbleGamers leadership to learn more about the Expansion Pack program or the non-profit’s work to provide more accessible gaming equipment so everyone can game, please contact Mario R. Kroll or CJ Melendez at [email protected].
