OUTRIGHT GAMES AND UNIVERSAL GAMES ANNOUNCE DREAMWORKS DRAGONS DAWN OF NEW RIDERS VIDEO GAME

Worldwide video game publisher, Outright Games, today announced it has partnered with Universal Games on its newest title, DreamWorks Dragons Dawn of New Riders, which introduces a new story in the popular DreamWorks Dragons universe. Developed by Climax Studios and distributed by BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe and its subsidiaries, DreamWorks Dragons Dawn of New Riders will be coming to PlayStation® 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch™ and PC. The game will launch February 2019 in Europe, to coincide with the release of the new movie DreamWorks Animation’s How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World.

For the first time ever, submarines are available in the new “Terror of the Deep” operation

 

EMBARGO October 31, 2018, 19.00 AEDT Starting from tomorrow, the third mission in the Halloween series will be available bringing with it one of the most requested and anticipated features in World of Warships history: submarines. “Terror of the Deep” puts players in the submerged steel beasts and task them with the new dimension (and challenge): depth!

The spooky new operation will run for three weeks, giving players the opportunity to take on this new challenge and get to grips with the latest addition to World of Warships. There will be five different submarines, each with their own unique commanders and loadouts, to use during the operation:

  • Barracuda (Commander: Victor F. Einstein)
  • Zipper Sub (Commander: Mina Hurray)
  • Gerfalcon (Commander: Ivan K. Ulibin)
  • Seelöwe (Commander: Lazarus Centurio)
  • Killer Whale (Commander: Klaus V. Teslau)

The mission of these seafaring commanders and their subs is to see off the villainous Rasputin—the evil force of the twisted, spooky world.

Players will start off with the Barracuda in their Port and each of the others can be unlocked throughout the event for completing certain criteria. With the addition of the submarines, a new dimension will be introduced: depth. Changes in depth will affect visibility and the possibility to attack depending on whether you are on the water’s surface, periscope depth or deep waters. Also, make sure to keep an eye out for a new type of danger: depth charges.

The Halloween mode is a special entertaining event that allows developers to test and try out new game mechanics and features that could be used in the future. After the operation’s completion, the World of Warships team will evaluate community feedback and consider introducing submarines as the fifth ship class in the game.

With the first YO-KAI WATCH™ game and its popular sequel YO-KAI WATCH™ 2 capturing the imaginations of children across Australia and New Zealand, fans of the games and the popular TV series can now enjoy an all-new story, befriend old and new quirky Yo-kai and experience a revamped battle system.

The story begins when Nate Adams’ father is offered a new job forcing them to leave Springdale and relocate to a town called St. Peanutsburg in the country of BBQ. Having just replaced his inoperable Yo-kai Watch with the new Yo-kai Watch Model U, it’s not long before Nate finds himself caught up in another series of mysteries. One day, FBY agents and hilarious duo, Blunder and Folly, come knocking at Nate’s door asking if he’s aware of the UFO which recently crash-landed in the area. Unable to help, Nate sets off to investigate with his beloved friends, Whisper and Jibanyan, and finds himself getting caught up into an assortment of exciting adventures, while meeting with a cast of bothersome, friendly and quirky Yo-kai along the way.

Meanwhile, back in Springdale, a geeky detective wannabe, Hailey Anne Thomas, gets more than she bargained for after trying to hunt down a limited-edition character figure. After entering a shop with high hopes, a mysterious voice entices her to purchase a Yo-kai Watch Model U. Once Hailey Anne discovers the voice belongs to a Yo-kai named Usapyon and understands why he was so eager for her to buy the Yo-kai Watch Model U, they join forces, inspiring Hailey Anne to open a detective agency to solve the troubles of Springdale.

Why has there been so much mysterious activity in Springdale and St. Peanutsburg lately, and why do Nate and Hailey Anne both possess a Yo-kai Watch Model U? Nate and Hailey Anne must travel their own separate paths to discover their shared destiny and unravel the mysteries in each of their towns. Aside from Nate’s and Hailey Anne’s key objectives, players can immerse themselves in many exciting side quests – also known as Requests and Favours – by answering the needs of the local residents, with the hope of a nice reward at the end. They can also take on a range of mini-games and challenges, which include rafting down rapids in BBQ or unearthing treasure maps as they seek out hidden treasures.

The reimagined battle system is the most exciting and tactical in the series to date, so players will have to think and act fast if they’re to win. Using the new Tactics Board, players have the freedom to place their three preferred Yo-kai anywhere on a 3×3 grid. Yo-kai positioned on the front row will see their physical attacks become stronger and will protect Yo-kai behind them. Players can also place Yo-kai next to each other to trigger Linking effects, resulting in combo attacks. There are lots of possible combinations so experiment with different Yo-kai to discover your perfect team.

Players who are eager to test their battle skills against fellow Yo-kai rivals can participate in a range of multiplayer battles including Local Battle, Friend Battle and ‘Merican Dream Battles. In ‘Merican Dream Battle, players can choose between Casual Battle, which has no rules, and Official Rank Battle, where they can battle to gather Rank Points. Outside of the battle arena, players can trade Yo-kai via StreetPass and trade medals over Wi-Fi or local communications.

Fans of Jibanyan can get creative with a feature called Build-a-Nyan, where they can design their own cat Yo-kai by giving it a name, changing its colour and selecting which tribe it represents. Collect Originyan parts through the game to change its voice and appearance, and befriend cat Yo-kai along the way to pass their moves onto your customised moggy.

By visiting the in-game Post Office, players can present download codes, QR Codes and passwords to the receptionist to redeem special items and Yo-kai. The Crank-a-kai of which Whisper first appeared in the original YO-KAI WATCH™ game and popular TV series makes a return and this time it can be used to receive more items and Yo-kai. Both Crank-a-kai coins – an in-game currency – and Play Coins, earned by walking around with a Nintendo 3DS family system, can be used as tender.

It’s also possible for owners of previous games in the series to link their games with YO-KAI WATCH™ 3 to unlock in-game content. Link YO-KAI WATCH™ 2: Bony Spirits, Fleshy Souls and Psychic Specters to befriend an S-Ranking Yo-kai from each game. Players can also link with YO-KAI WATCH BLASTERS™: Red Cat Corps and White Dog Squad to unlock an exclusive Yo-kai from each of these titles.

TIBURON, CA – Oct. 30, 2018The Blackout Club, a cooperative paranormal horror mystery from Question, a team of industry veterans featuring BioShock 2’s creative director and lead writer and BioShock Infinite’s lead effects artist, enters into Steam Early Access today for Windows PC.

Set in a small Appalachian community hiding a monstrous secret, The Blackout Club follows a group of teens investigating strange occurrences in their town with no cellular or internet access. Brought together by a rash of mysterious shared blackouts, the sudden disappearance of a friend, and the local population’s eerie unwillingness to believe them, the club springs into action.

Together, they uncover a conspiracy of occult-obsessed adults who have turned the town’s population into sleepwalkers. The club must infiltrate labyrinthine tunnels that emanate hypnotic melodies from beneath the town’s seemingly idyllic surface. To save the day, up to four players will sneak out on nocturnal surveillance missions to capture the conspiracy on camera.

Players will need to coordinate with one another to collect evidence and outwit the sleepwalkers, who seem fiendishly alert despite their condition. The kids have a wealth of tools at their disposal, ranging from grappling hooks and fireworks to stun-guns and tranquilizer darts. But while these toys are fun to use, every act of rebellion has a cost, as an otherworldly entity which cannot be seen with open eyes is always watching. It lurks in the shadows, lying in wait to abduct troublemakers who spoil its malevolent plans.

The Blackout Club’s Steam Early Access release includes new content unseen in the Closed Beta and PAX West builds, including new missions, enhanced character customization, new locations to explore, unlockable gestures and emotes, and more. Additional content and features will continue to roll out over the course of the coming weeks and months as well.

The Blackout Club is currently available on Windows PC via Steam Early Access for $19.99. The full game will release in Q1 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.

Battlefield V Cosmetics Only Microtransaction Scheme Revealed

After the public outcry over Star Wars: Battlefront II’s initial microtransaction scheme, DICE is modifying their microtransaction strategy for Battlefield V. In a new article designed to spell out their Battlefield V strategy as clearly as possible, DICE announced they will be going with a cosmetics only model.

Battlefield V will have two currencies, Company Coins and Battlefield Currency. Company Coins can only be earned only by playing the game. The coins will unlock items in the weapon and vehicle Specialization trees that will tune weapons and vehicles to a player’s personal playstyle, such as increasing hip fire accuracy. Battlefield Currency must be purchased with real money and will only be used to unlock cosmetic items. DICE will delay the launch of Battlefield Currency until after Battlefield V is out for a while to prevent any misunderstanding about the role of each currency.

Battlefield V is scheduled to launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Origin Access Premier and EA Access members will be able to start playing on November 9th. Battlefield V Deluxe Edition owners will be able to start playing on November 15th, followed by all other editions on November 20th.

LOS ANGELES – OCT. 30, 2018 – Just over one month after the launch of Netmarble’s all-new, original, free-to-play, mobile adventure role-playing game (RPG) Phantomgate: The Last Valkyrie on iOS and Android mobile devices, the Nordic-inspired adventures of Astrid continue with an all-new update that adds a deadly dungeon known as the Dimensional Rift for players seeking to test their Combat Power against powerful foes.

Starting today, players can enter the ‘Dimensional Rift’ – an all-new series of stages that resets every week, where players can choose from multiple dungeons in order to ascend to higher tiers for increasingly difficult fights with various monsters and bosses, and receive even greater rewards. After starting off at the first floor, players can re-enter completed stages with no limit. By traversing and completing Dimensional Rifts, players can earn the right to summon all-new Phantom Essences not found anywhere else.

In addition, other quality-of-life improvements have been added to Phantomgate: The Last Valkyrie, including:

  • Entry-level improvements, including a reduced Entry Level and Monster Health for Chapters 1-2 and new players being gifted a Four-Star Phantom after clearing Stage 4 of Chapter 1
  • Gate Zone attempts are increased from five to ten times
  • Adventure stages play speed is increased by 10%
  • Direction signs have been added to Adventure stages to guide players
  • Other improvements, including enhanced PVP matching, adjustments to Phantom balance and miscellaneous bug fixes.

Phantomgate: The Last Valkyrie is inspired by the rich tradition of Nordic myth as players follow Astrid, a courageous young Valkyrie who is on a journey to save her mother from the clutches of the mad god Odin. With a mix of side-scrolling, puzzle-filled adventure and a unique twist on classic turn-based RPG combat with real-time PVP features, players will journey alongside Astrid with her collectable companions known as Phantoms (of which there are over 300 to collect) and four other unique Hero characters across beautiful platform levels, with console-quality graphics, challenging puzzles and more in the land of Midgard!
