EVERSPACE™ 2 Kickstarter campaign with first demo version starts on 02 October 2019

After ROCKFISH Games announced its new open-world space shooter EVERSPACE™ 2 for PC and consoles at Gamescom: Opening Night Live, the independent German developer announced today the postponement of the Kickstarter campaign to October 02, 2019. Early Access of EVERSPACE™2 on Steam is currently planned for the end of 2020, with the full version for PC, PlayStation® 4 and Xbox One scheduled for release in the second half of 2021.

“At Gamescom and Pax West, over 1500 space game fans played the EVERSPACE™ 2 demo and were all enthusiastic about it. That’s why we decided to exhibit at the Tokyo Game Show at the German Pavilion at short notice, too,” says Michael Schade, CEO of ROCKFISH Games. “We will then incorporate the feedback into the finalization of the reward tiers and stretch goals of the Kickstarter campaign. In addition, we want to polish the demo a bit more and add graphic options to support a wide range of gaming PCs, so that our backers can get into exciting space battles later this year.” The story of EVERSPACE™ 2 will continue after the events of its successful predecessor. The game will offer not only even more immersive gameplay, but also a visually impressive open-world gaming experience. The Kickstarter campaign is now scheduled from 02 October to 04 November 2019. The demo version of EVERSPACE™ 2 for eligible backers will be available via Steam shortly after the campaign has ended.

World first true crime AR game to launch for Melbourne International Games Week

Solve a historic mystery in the world-first AR true crime mobile game True Crime Mysteries: Misadventure in Little Lon, launching October 6 as part of Melbourne International Games Week (MIGW).

Created by Victorian studio 10Tickles, this immersive augmented reality game challenges players to unravel an intriguing true crime from Melbourne’s notorious red-light district in 1910.

Players are propelled on an exhilarating adventure through the streets of Melbourne’s past, exploring heritage sites where spine tingling events went down. Collecting clues and questioning the delightful deviants who lived in the laneways of Little Lon.

The historically accurate game investigates a series of clashes that landed Ernest Gunter in hospital and led to his eventual demise.

Furious friends and family struggle to gain justice for Gunter, convinced he was hit in an unprovoked attack; while associates of Bourke Street Rat, John Evans, claim Gunter attacked Evans with murderous intent. A stolen kiss, money owed to the mob, a hired hitman. Are they telling truth or lies? You decide!

‘Misadventure in Little Lon’ features sound design by Sianna Lee, and players can find real newspaper articles and artefacts from the Little Lon archaeological dig hidden throughout the game.

Emma Ramsay, 10Tickles Co-founder said, “We are excited to be launching our first game in the True Crime Mysteries series during Melbourne International Games Week. ‘Misadventure in Little Lon’ transports you from this realm to one shrouded in historical intrigue and can be played from anywhere in the world.”

True Crime Mysteries: Misadventure In Little Lon will be available via the App Store or Google Play ($7.99) from 6 October.

Members of the public are invited to the official launch of ‘Misadventure in Little Lon’ where they can meet ‘real life’ characters and the game-makers. Sunday 6 October, 1pm – 5pm starting from State Library Victoria. Register now.

Gears fans assemble: Xbox ANZ create limited-edition Gears 5 inspired jewellery

SYDNEY, Australia, Friday 6 September 2019 – As gamers around Australia prepare to lift their Lancers for the launch of Gears 5, Xbox ANZ has revealed an exclusive range of bespoke unisex jewellery inspired by the iconography of the fan-favourite franchise.

Crafted by fire and cast in ice-cold silver, Australian designer, Jason Moss, took inspiration from the mysterious Locust necklace owned by Gears 5’s lead protagonist, Kait Diaz, to create a limited edition ring and pendent design that any COG would be proud to wear.

Most famous for his custom creations, some of the world’s most recognized celebrities wear Moss’ work, including recent Rolling Stones cover artist, Harry Styles. Designed in his trademark style, these handmade creations reflect the visual themes of the fire and ice locales from the game while leaning into the aesthetic of one of gaming’s most acclaimed sagas.

The pendant pays homage to the iconic Gears COG tag and the trials and tribulations faced by our heroes. Featuring a split Crimson Omen interweaved on a chain necklace, the piece is weighted like the expectations placed on the Gears shoulders to save humanity.

The ring sees an entangled Crimson Omen take centre stage. It features a complex design reflective of the unanswered questions of Kait’s bloodline, and the tensions bubbling under the surface as the squad fights off the Swarm and learns about her past.

Encased in a chamber emblazoned with each piece’s production number, only 100 of each design have been created. Gears 5 fans around Australia can visit the Xbox ANZ Facebook today for more information on how to claim a piece of history for themselves.

“We know that fans of Gears are loud and proud when it comes to their passion for the franchise, and we wanted to create something that would allow them to showcase their pride every day. With so many complex themes weaving throughout the Gears universe, Jason Moss with his experimental, raw style was the perfect artist to bring this collection to life.” says Tania Chee, Xbox Lead for ANZ.

Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can play the highly-anticipated title as part of their monthly subscription from today. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate includes Xbox Live Gold and unlimited access to over 100 high-quality console and PC games. New members can subscribe for just $2 for the first two months, then $15.95 thereafter. Gears 5 is also available at the Microsoft Store and other retailers in Australia from 10th September (RRP AU$99.95).

TAITO’S 80’s cult Bubble Bobble gets sequel exclusively for Nintendo Switch

After more than 10 years, a sequel to the iconic video game classic will finally be released exclusively for Nintendo Switch via ININ Games and Strictly Limited Games.

Stuttgart, Germany – After more than 10 years, Nintendo Switch players can look forward to a sequel of the cult 80’s game series Bubble Bobble by TAITO.
