Wargaming and Frag Lab Announce Development of a New Next-Gen F2P MMO Shooter Built with Amazon Game Tech

March 15, 2019 —Wargaming is proud to announce that the company is partnering with Ukrainian developers Frag Lab to build a next-generation free-to-play shooter using nearly a dozen Amazon Web Services (AWS) products, Amazon GameLift dedicated server hosting, and the Amazon Lumberyard AAA game engine.

Frag Lab is a 125-strong studio, based in Kiev, established by a team that previously worked on the Crysis franchise, Battlefield 2 and most recently, Warface, a free-to-play online first-person shooter.

“When Frag Lab approached us with their vision of what they wanted to develop, we felt that it perfectly matched our core values, and their passion was palpable,” states Shahzad Khan, Product Director, Wargaming. “We knew by combining their experience working on a successful shooter with our unrivaled free-to-play expertise, together we could bring this vision to life.”

Wargaming and Frag Lab are using Amazon GameLift to operate and scale their multiplayer servers alongside nearly a dozen AWS products like Amazon Route 53, Simple Storage Service (S3), and Elastic Container Service for Kubernetes (EKS), and is creating the game with the Amazon Lumberyard game engine.

Back 4 Blood Announced for Xbox One, PS4, and PC

It looks like a new zombie shooter is on the way and it just so happens to be coming from the developers of one of the most popular team zombie shooters in memory. Warner Bros. has announced that they will be working with Turtle Rock Studios, known for their work on Left 4 Dead and then the unfortunate Evolve, to produce a new game called Back 4 Blood. The game will be released sometime in the future for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and according to the company it will combine “the best of what made the co-op zombie shooter so successful with new features and state-of-the-art technology.”

Currently there has been no information released about what the game’s exact setting or storyline could be but the developers have stated that Back 4 Blood will have a campaign, PVP, and be a “premium AAA title.” No release date was given at this time though Warner Bros. has stated that more information will be revealed in the future.

World End Syndrome Arrives in Europe on June 14

Those in Europe can expect World End Syndrome, a new mystery/romance visual novel from Toybox Games and Arc System Works, to be released on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on June 14th courtesy of PQube where it will be available both digitally and at retail with a special art book and collector’s box for the retail release of the game. World End Syndrome has previously been confirmed for release in North America by Arc System Works but no release date has been announced at this time.

World End Syndrome takes place in a coastal town known as “Mihate Town.” The game follows a protagonist as he get transferred to “Mihate High School” in town and begins his new life, where he meets the heroines: Maimi Kusunose, a cheerful girl, and Miu Amana, a quiet girl.How you interact with the girls through unforgettable summer experiences and incidents that happen in the peaceful town will drastically change the ending.

Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle Announced, Western Release Planned

About a year ago Attack on Titan 2‘s video game was released in the West and now Koei Tecmo has announced plans to bring an enhanced version, Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle to the West as well. The game will be released on July 5th in the West for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC but if you happen to already own the original game then you can upgrade through a “Final Battle Upgrade Pack” that will be released as paid DLC though no price for this upgrade was announced.

This new enhanced game will follow the story through season 3 of the Attack on Titan anime while highlighting both key moments as well as other conflicts that were never shown before. Final Battle’s Story mode plays through selected characters’ points of view with major heroes active in Season 3 – now playable for the first time – boosting the total number of playable characters to over 40. In addition to the content covering all three seasons of the popular anime series, developers will also include original episodes to create a more fulfilling experience.

Two new gameplay styles will also be added into the game and they are an anti-personnel combat feature using anti-personnel omni directional mobility gear and an all-new wall reclamation mode focused on recovering outside territories. Here, players will have an ability to choose a leader of their squad, pick out the members they want to include – even members who were never together in the original work, and set out to reclaim the lands from the Titans. Thunder Spears will also be equipped for battle for the first time, allowing the take down of the Armored Titan when a normal blade just won’t cut it.

Now that we know that Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth is set to be released in the west this summer Atlus USA has released a new story trailer for the game where we see the Phantom Thieves as they head forth on another adventure only to find themselves trapped within a series of labyrinthine movies, each with its own unique twists and turns themed after various movie genres.

Along the way, you’ll encounter other like-minded heroes who possess the will and strength to help you in your journey. But who is this mysterious girl Hikari, and how will the cast escape from this cinematic entanglement that transcends time and space. Destiny Connect: Tick-Tock Travelers Heading West this Fall

NIS America has announced plans to bring Destiny Connect: Tick-Tock Travelers to North America and Europe where it will be available both physically and digitally for the Switch and PlayStation 4 sometime this fall. The game takes place in the town of Clocknee where the city is celebrating advent of a new millennium when time suddenly comes to a halt and a horde of hostile animated machines appears.

It’s up to a young girl named Sherry, her friend Pegreo, and Isaac, the time-traveling robot, to unravel the mystery behind the strange events. Together, they’ll revisit the past and peer into the future, learning some very interesting things about their families and their peculiar town. Destiny Connect: Tick-Tock Travelers will have a launch edition that features a copy of the game, a “Farewell 99” poster, and a set of flippable COGS that look incredibly similar to POGS while a special $64.99 limited edition will include a hardcover art book, soundtrack CD, slammer coin, a collector’s box, and the aforementioned launch bonuses.

The Alliance Alive HD Remastered Western Release Announced

After the original 3DS version was released in the West last year it looks like fans of FuRyu’s The Alliance Alive won’t have to wait too long for The Alliance Alive HD Remastered to make its way overseas. Now handled by NIS America the game will be released physically and digitally for the PlayStation 4 and Switch as well as digitally on PC in North America and Europe.

Releasing sometime this fall the story of the game follows a group of unlikely heroes that band together to spark a fiery revolution after an age of darkness fell upon the world. The Dark Current, a cataclysmic event caused by the Daemons’ emergence, has decimated the population and divided land into separate regions, leaving the survivors to be subjugated by Daemonic overlords.
