Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy Launches in the West April 9th

Capcom has announced that they will be releasing Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy in the West on April 9th where it will only be released digitally for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. While a digital only release will disappoint some the price point is being kept to a modest $29.99 though it is worth noting that the Japanese release features both English and Japanese text support with physical versions being available for the PlayStation 4 and Switch platforms.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy follows rookie lawyer Phoenix Wright as he works through his early years across three games, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Justice For All, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Trials and Tribulations, that have all been touched up graphically and given a few other improvements such as quick-save options, truth gauge, and clearer indicators of when a scene is fully investigated.

Pokemon Sword and Shield will be set in the Galar region, an expansive region with diverse environments ranging from an idyllic countryside, contemporary cities, thick forest, to craggy, snow-covered mountains.

It is currently unclear how many new Pokemon will be added to the series with this entry but so far we do know of the three starters that players will be able to choose from. These are the grass type Grookey, fire type Scorbunny, and water type Sobble. The pair of games is set to be released later this year and you can check out the official announcement video below.

Samurai Shodown Releasing Early Summer 2019

After being announced with very little information and then given a release window of sometime during the second quarter of 2019, it looks like Samurai Shodown will still be making a splash at Evo this year as it has been revealed that it will be part of the line-up. SNK also has confirmed that the game will be playable for the first time at the end of March at PAX East.

Despite all of these little reveals, currently we only know that Samurai Shodown‘s latest release is being developed using Unreal Engine 4 and will be at least released for the PlayStation 4 with only around five characters currently confirmed for the roster. For now though you can check out a new short trailer below.

Overkill’s The Walking Dead Console Release Cancelled

After a troublesome release on PC it seems that any future that Overkill’s The Walking Dead has come to an early end. The Walking Dead’s IP holder Skybound Entertainment has announced that they have terminated all contracts with Starbreeze Studios and will discontinue all efforts on Overkill’s The Walking Dead.

Skybound went on to say that “We did our best to work with Starbreeze and resolve many issues that we saw with the game, but ultimately Overkill’s The Walking Dead did not meet our standards, nor is it the quality that we were promised. We are exceedingly sorry to our fans and share their disappointment in the game. We remain dedicated to providing our fans with the most premium quality content we can offer, and will continue to look for alternative video game options for the IP.”

Following this announcement the developer, Starbreeze Studios, has stated that it will likely be removing the game from PC due to issues with Skybound and that they will try to find a solution to finish the game’s “Season 2” that was meant to be released in the future. Mikael Nermark, acting CEO Starbreeze, has apologized saying that they “are deeply sorry for the issues this may cause anyone who has bought the game looking forward to the resolution of Season 2 and are working urgently to attempt to resolve the issue. Please keep an eye on the official OTWD channels for further news.”
