BioWare Veterans Reveal Hindsight 20/20

Choice-Based Action-Adventure Explores Morality in 2020

AUSTIN, Texas – April 24, 2019 – Hindsight 20/20, the single-player action-adventure game with morality-based decisions from BioWare, ArenaNet, and Sucker Punch veterans at Triple-I Games, releases on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation®4, Xbox One, PC and Mac in 2020.

The peaceful town of Champaner holds life sacred above all else. A calamitous virus capable of turning people into blood-thirsty beasts called Raakshasas threatens Champaner’s harmonious ways. In response, King Marcos orders the kidnapping and execution of all Raakshasas including Seth, the leader of the beasts. Seth flees and forms a rival town called Gibsonia, a safe haven for anyone who has or could turn into a Raakshasa. He then opens a powerful rift over Champaner, capable of destroying the kingdom at any time.

At the center of this developing war is a fated one-armed man named Jehan who lived in Champaner, until his father was killed. Jehan’s malleability and freedom of choice form the crux of Hindsight 20/20. Will he uphold the values of his hometown by avoiding bloodshed? Or will the murder of his father fuel him with a rage that can only be quelled with the death of those responsible? Perhaps there is a middle ground, where violence justifies a peaceful end. Survive in a world of grey by deciding who Jehan really is and what motivates him.

Before every battle, choose whether Jehan will be merciful or relentless by wielding either a baton to stun enemies or a blade to cut them down. Conflict is unavoidable in tumultuous times, but using the stun baton convinces residents of Champaner that Jehan respects their beliefs, even if he still resorts to combat. Enemy behavior changes based on weapon choice. Soldiers fight desperately when they believe their lives might be in danger. Earn fearsome, violent abilities by killing, or resourceful skills based on pacifism by choosing the high road.

Decisions have long-lasting repercussions. When a best friend considers suicide due to Raakshasa infection, talking him down may seem like the “right” thing to do. But if he turns and kills, who is at fault? Sparing Jehan’s father’s killer preserves Champaner’s values, but he may return, stronger and more ruthless than before. Hindsight 20/20 explores themes of morality at times of crisis, segregation, regret, peace, and self-criticism. Sometimes the smallest actions have the largest consequences. Drastically different endings inspire multiple playthroughs.

Resolve conflict through ruthless or merciful means, solve environmental puzzles, complete side quests and forge Jehan’s personal path in a fantastical world that merges technology and magic. The stylized aesthetic inspired by classic Zelda games is punctuated with a wide-ranging musical sweep of tragedy, majesty, and primal forces.

Hindsight 20/20 was born when I really came to terms with what that phrase means as a philosophy,” said Hemanshu Chhabra, creative director at Triple-I Games. “So many of us look back on decisions they regret, so I wanted to make a game that encapsulates this feeling and allows players to go back and really see what differences they could have made.”

Hindsight 20/20 will be available in English on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation®4, Xbox One, Windows and Mac in Q1/Q2 2020.

Doraemon Story of Seasons Announced for Release in the West

Surprisingly it has been announced that Doraemon Story of Seasons will be released in the West as Bandai Namco has announced plans to release the game for the Nintendo Switch and PC in North America and Europe. This marks the first real time that a Doraemon game has been localized, least of all one that is combined with the Story of Seasons (formerly Harvest Moon) franchise, making it a game that many thought had no chance of being released in English. The game will be digital only in North America while Europe will be given a retail release of the Switch version of the game.

Doraemon Story of Seasons lets players dive into a new world that combines relaxing gameplay with a story of farming, friendship, and helping others as Noby, an average boy with a heart of gold, to help bring a destroyed farm back to life while also creating bonds with other townsfolk while building up the land with Doraemon (whose unique gadgets can help in unexpected ways), Sue, Big G, and Sneech.

Mortal Kombat 11 Thaws Out Frost in Latest Trailer

After keeping her under wraps for quite some time, up until the point of launch in fact, Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios have released a trailer for Mortal Kombat 11 introducing the return of fan favorite Frost.

Unlike the other fighters in the game Frost must be unlocked by playing through part of the game’s Story Mode and as you can see in the video below as she takes on her teacher Sub-Zero, she packs quite the punch as her new cybernetic form allows her to perform a number of unique attacks that fit well with her ice abilities. This reveal of Frost marks the full current roster for the game though DLC for additional fighters is planned.

Date A Live: Rio Reincarnation Introduces Yoshino

Idea Factory International has continued their series of character introductions for Date A Live: Rio Reincarnation and this time around the second heroine has been introduced as Yoshino and her puppet friend Yoshinon. The company describes her as being known as “Hermit” and is the second Spirit whom Shido saves. She is calm and reserved, preferring to let her puppet friend, “Yoshinon,” speak for her with levity and jokes. Given the number of Spirits with strong personalities, Yoshino’s presence is something of an oasis for Shido’s heart. The angel she manifests is “Zadkiel.”

Date A Live: Rio Reincarnation is currently set to be released on the PlayStation 4 and PC in June in both North America and Europe.

Transport Fever 2 Announced

Good Shepherd Entertainment (Phantom Doctrine) and Urban Games announced Transport Fever 2 will launch on Linux, Mac, and Windows in Q4 2019. No word on the game’s price, but it will be available via Steam.

Transport Fever 2 lets players build their transport infrastructure in the Americas, Asia, and Europe from 1850 to modern day. Players will need to build and maintain a fleet of vehicles, roads, rail systems, and signal systems to create an efficient economic machine. The game offers over 200 trains, trucks, ships, and planes; three climate zones; three campaigns; and a freeplay mode. Players will be able to make their own maps using the built in editor or create full blown mods. Both can be shared with the public using Steam Workshop.

Platform Shooter Zombotron Released on PC

Armor Games Studios and Ant Karlov announced their platform shooter Zombotron is available now for Mac and Windows. The game is priced at $14.99 USD/$21.50 AUD and is on sale at Steam, Humble, and Kartridge. Those who buy the game on Steam before April 29 will be able to snag a 15% launch discount.

Based on the web game series of the same name, Zombotron is a run and gun platformer. The game offers five story chapters following Blaze, a soldier of fortune who goes to the planet of Zombotron to answer a distress beacon. Blaze can destroy zombies with a variety of weapons or use the game’s physics engine to kill them in a variety of creative ways, like crushing zombies with elevators.

Moero Chronicle Hyper Dungeon & Dialogue Screenshots Released

With Moero Chronicle Hyper releasing later this week Idea Factory International has released a new batch of screenshots for the game and this time around the focus is placed on showing off bits of dialogue and the dungeons themselves, though a couple of CG pieces are mixed in as well. In these screenshots a number of the monster girls that will be willing to join Io’s quest are shown off and you can strengthen your relationship with them by giving them gifts and improving their rooms and the more a girl likes you, the stronger she’ll be in combat.

Moero Chronicle Hyper will be available on the Nintendo Switch as a digital download on April 26th where it will be priced at $19.99 with a 30% discount for one week after launch.
