Espire 1: VR Operative Announced for Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift S, and PlayStation®VR – Launching August 2019 for all Major PC VR Platforms

Publisher Tripwire Interactive and Developer Digital Lode Join Forces to Set a New Gold Standard for the VR Stealth Genre

Los Angeles – June 10, 2019 – Publisher Tripwire Interactive and developer Digital Lode are aiming to create the ultimate VR stealth experience while eliminating the problem of VR motion sickness with Espire 1: VR Operative. Announced today for the newly released Oculus Quest and Oculus Rift S as well as the PlayStation®VR platform, Espire 1: VR Operative is scheduled to deploy for most major virtual reality platforms in August, 2019, including Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift S, Oculus Rift, HTC VIVE, Valve Index and Windows Mixed Reality. Expect more official news regarding a launch date for PlayStationVR and an exact launch date for all other major platforms in the coming months for Espire 1: VR Operative as development continues.

Designed to deliver the definitive VR stealth experience, Espire 1: VR Operative drafts players as drone operators of the future. Players become “Espire Agents” and use cutting edge Virtual Reality hardware to remote-operate the Espire model 1 from the safety of their “Control Theatre.”

The technology behind the “Control Theatre” and the game’s approach to movement lie at the heart of Espire 1: VR Operative’s gameplay and intuitive VR control system. Any time a player performs any artificial locomotion, the game world shrinks down to the size of a floating tablet, with the Control Theatre visible in the player’s peripheral vision. This “VR within VR” system allows for precise, full freedom movement, while maintaining immersion, and eliminating “VR motion sickness” for almost everyone. The Control Theatre is fully customizable to suit the player’s level of comfort, and can be fully disabled for those already comfortable moving in VR.

This unprecedented freedom of movement allows the title’s stealth and action gameplay mechanics shine. Make sure to check out our press kit for series of curated gameplay gifs, showing an Espire Agent stealing a guards gun to neutralize him, using the voice command “Freeze” to immobilize a guard, throwing a spare ammunition clip to cause a distraction, and activating bullet time to headshot multiple guards while dropping down from the ceiling.

Espire 1: VR Operative Key Features Include:

  • The definitive VR stealth experience: Espire 1 brings the stealth genre to the exciting medium of Virtual Reality, delivering gameplay mechanics for the stealth and action genres that have yet to be explored.
  • Full freedom of movement: Espire 1 allows players the freedom to move anywhere within their virtual environment, moving, climbing, and falling with full comfort and no motion sickness for almost all players.
  • Complete single-player story, rich in detail: Espire 1 is being developed as a dedicated single player VR experience with individual story missions and scenario missions that use the story mission environments for short challenges.
  • Voice control: Using the VR headset’s onboard microphone, you can make commands and perform actions simply by speaking. The noises you make could draw the enemy to your location – use this to your advantage.
  • Arsenal of weapons and gadgets: As an Espire 1 VR Operative you will have access to dozens of unique gadgets and weapons such as a tranquilizer pistol and deployable spy cameras in order to complete your mission objectives.
  • Global Leaderboard: A worldwide tally awards players a competitive score based on mission time, movement, stealth, ammo conservation, takedowns and other factors.
  • Intuitive controls that mimic real life: Interaction in this game aims to be natural and intuitive. Instead of memorizing dozens of button combinations for every action, you perform them as you would in real life. You can crouch and enter cover by physically using your body.
  • Smart AI: Enemy combatants in this game actively hunt the player. The AI responds to sight, sound, and other stimuli and will react to with varying levels of suspicion based on your physical stance, movement speed, cover and relative location.

PC Gaming Show debuts new Valfaris trailer and wields ‘Bringer of Mayhem’ weapon prop on stage – assets and info

Upcoming heavy metal adventure bringing the noise at E3 with brand new trailer

E3 2019: 10 June, 2019 – New publisher Big Sugar (formerly Digital Uppercut) is proud to share the news that a brand new all-action trailer for upcoming heavy metal adventure Valfaris has made its debut at this year’s E3 as part of the PC Gaming Show.

Watched by the assembled media at the event and by thousands of online viewers, the 60 second video offers a breakneck look at the type of brutal, over-the-top action players will be able to enjoy when Valfaris launches later this year on PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.

Players can also sign-up for an upcoming closed beta via the Valfaris site, or try the game right now by downloading a demo from the Steam page.

Developed by Steel Mantis, a two-man dev team that previously worked together on Gothic gore fest and love-it-or-hate-it indie hit Slain: Back From Hell, Valfaris transports players to the eponymous space citadel where they must run-and-gun with extreme force to purge the evil that has corrupted it.

Valfaris is my take on some of the games I loved playing when growing up, such as Gryzor/Contra and Turrican,” explains Andrew Gilmour, the creative driving force behind Valfaris. “Relentless action, cool environments, insane bosses, crazy weapons… those aspects have a timeless quality – they kept me hooked then and are still every bit as appealing to me today. I want to capture that special formula of classic old-school fun with Valfaris.”

In addition to showcasing the trailer, a model of one of Valfaris’ most devastating weapons, the aptly named Bringer of Mayhem, also made a cameo appearance on stage at the PC Gaming Show. Check the video below to admire the expert craftsmanship of the model in more detail, and to see the gut-rupturing gun in action, in-game:

About the game
Set in a far corner of space, Valfaris is a heavy metal infused 2D action-platformer and the next game from the team behind Slain: Back From Hell.

After mysteriously vanishing from galactic charts, the fortress of Valfaris has suddenly reappeared in the orbit of a dying sun. Once a self-contained paradise, the grandiose citadel now plays host to an ever-growing darkness. Therion, a fearless and proud son of Valfaris, returns to his home to uncover the truth of its doomed fate and to challenge the arcane evil at its very heart.

Brutal combat. Deadly enemies. Stunning pixel art. Savage soundtrack.

Get ready to rip the galaxy a new wormhole.

Key features

  • Skulls in space! Gore in space! Metal in space!
  • Savagely reduce foes to piles of gibs with an array of brutal weaponry
  • Explore a diverse range of tainted environments as you venture ever deeper into the dark world of Valfaris
  • Dominate ranks of deadly enemies and bosses, from the weird to the grotesque (and some that are just grotesquely weird)
  • Gorge your eyes on devastatingly awesome pixel art hand-crafted by Andrew Gilmour
  • Feel the power of a seismic soundtrack by extreme metaller and former Celtic Frost guitarist, Curt Victor Bryant

Forged from the ground-up by the team behind cult hit Slain: Back From Hell

Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy revealed at PC Gaming Show – a big sequel to a small indie game

Follow-up to Ludomotion’s acclaimed roguelite revealed, Open Access campaign launches on Fig

E3 2019: 10 June, 2019 – New publisher Big Sugar (formerly Digital Uppercut) and indie developer Ludomotion are delighted to announce Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy, a captivating roguelite action-RPG and sequel to the critically acclaimed Unexplored. Revealed during the PC Gaming Show at this year’s E3, Unexplored 2 will build on the solid foundations of its predecessor to deliver a richer, more immersive, and even more expansive experience.

To coincide with the game’s announcement, an Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy Open Access campaign has launched on crowdfunding platform Fig, giving backers immediate access to a pre-alpha test demo, amongst other incentives. More details can be found at: https://www.fig.co/campaigns/unexplored-2

Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy will launch on PC and consoles in 2020.

Steam: http://bit.ly/UnEx2Steam
Fig: https://www.fig.co/campaigns/unexplored-2

Developed by the Amsterdam-based Ludomotion, Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy represents a significant scaling-up across every facet of the original Unexplored.

Major changes in the evolution from Unexplored to Unexplored 2 include the sprawling outdoor setting of the sequel, which leaves behind the original’s dungeon-based confines, and a dramatically different visual style that imbues the world with a wonderfully vibrant and magical sense of place.

Less immediately obvious, but absolutely fundamental to Unexplored 2, is the use once again of advanced content generation. Ludomotion has continued to refine and improve its revolutionary technology, which is now capable of even more impressive results across a range of systems, from world and level creation, to generated stories and puzzles.

“The first game is a dungeon crawler, but Unexplored 2 takes the adventure outside the dungeon,” explains game director Joris Dormans. “You can travel across a whole continent of generated places. There are so many things to see and to do – so much to explore, so many challenges to overcome, so many stories to discover. Unexplored had hundreds of hours of content, but Unexplored 2 will be even bigger.”

In the video below, Joris talks about the scope of the project, shares details about gameplay, and explains the motivation behind the Fig Open Access campaign:

About the game

Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy is a roguelite action-RPG and prodigious sequel to the critically acclaimed indie gem, Unexplored. Leave the Dungeon of Doom behind and venture into a vast, wondrous world as you embark on a heroic quest to destroy the mysterious Staff of Yendor.

Explore beautiful landscapes and discover hidden marvels. Encounter magical creatures and dangerous foes. Make brave choices and put your faith in good fortune. Featuring a unique legacy system, advanced procedural generation technology, and rich, generative storytelling, Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer’s Legacy is an adventure like no other.

Key features

  • Legacy system: the actions of past heroes impact the fortunes of those that follow in their footsteps. Use your legacy wisely to give successive adventurers greater hopes of completing their quest
  • Permadeath in a persistent world: when a hero dies, they stay dead. But you can choose to return to the same world with a new adventurer, forearmed with knowledge of what lies ahead. Or, if you prefer, begin a new adventure in a completely uncharted world
  • Generative storytelling: there is no premeditated script in Unexplored 2. Every adventurer’s ultimate goal may be the same – to destroy the Staff of Yendor – but every hero will have their own unique story of the events and encounters that happened along the way
  • Procedural generation: Ludomotion’s proprietary technology generates content that feels designed by humans, not algorithms, and can create a near infinite number of new lands, new places, new stories, and new challenges to discover

Orchestral adaptive soundtrack: an intricate system allows Unexplored 2‘s music to be arranged reactively, making subtle changes to the score at appropriate times, whether a moment of high emotion, or to provide foreshadowing

Created in an act of vampiric insurrection, players start the game as a fledgling Thinblood whose existence ignites a war among the vampire factions in Seattle. To survive in vampire society, players will enter into uneasy alliances with Seattle’s factions and join one of the full-blood vampire clans while stalking the city streets for prey, maneuvering complex political relationships, and balancing the need for blood against their withering humanity.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 features:

  • Feed Your Power, Own the Night – Immerse yourself in the World of Darkness and live out your vampire fantasy in a city filled with intriguing characters that react to your choices. Your unique disciplines, vampiric powers granted by the clan you join, make you a supernatural weapon in a forward-driving, fast-moving, melee-focused combat system. Your power will grow as you advance, but remember to uphold the Masquerade and guard your humanity … or face the consequences.
  • Descend into Seattle’s Dark Heart and Survive the Vampire Elite – Seattle has always been run, albeit secretly, by vampires. Hunt your prey across Seattle locations faithfully reimagined in the World of Darkness, from the piers of the waterfront to the bars and clubs of Pioneer Square. Meet the old blood founders present since the city’s birth and the new blood steering the tech money redefining the city. Everyone has hidden agendas – so choose your allies wisely.
  • Enter into Uneasy Alliances – Choose a side among competing factions, each with their own unique traits and stories, in the war for Seattle’s blood trade. The world will judge you by the company you keep, but remember no one’s hands stay clean forever.
  • Experience a Reactive, Branching Narrative – Written by Brian Mitsoda, the creative mind behind the original Bloodlines, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 reacts to your every choice in a narrative where different paths, and outcomes, abound.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will launch on PC and consoles in 2020 and is now available for pre-order. To learn more about Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, please visit www.bloodlines2.com.
