PUBG MOBILE’S ‘TEAM UP’ TOP PLAYERS TO COMPETE AT PUBG MOBILE CLUB OPEN 2019 GLOBAL FINALS LATER THIS MONTH

Nine celebrities and influencers from around the world drop into Berlin for massive global finals competition

LOS ANGELES – July 18, 2019 – Tencent Games and PUBG Corporation revealed today the top nine finalists who will be competing in the ‘TEAM UP’ portion of the upcoming PUBG MOBILE Club Open 2019 Global Finals. After 10 days of voting from players around the world, more than 220 million ballots were cast to narrow down an impressive roster of 100 players, internet celebrities and influencers. The nine ‘TEAM UP’ stars who have been chosen to represent their respective regions include:

• Giannis Antetokounmpo – NBA Player, MVP of 2018-2019 season;
• Boy Pakorn – Thai singer, actor and model;
• Pevita Pearce – Indonesian actress and singer;
• Chi Pu – Vietnamese actress and singer;
• Kazu – Japanese influencer;
• Mysterious YT – Indian gaming influencer;
• Nero – MENA gaming influencer;
• PowerBang – US gaming influencer;
• Athena – Korean gaming influencer.

On the first day of the PUBG MOBILE Club Open 2019 Global Finals on Friday, July 26, all nine stars will team up to form the ultimate team and compete in a show match. International musician superstar ALAN WALKER will also join for both the show match and an exclusive live performance, where he will debut his new song collaborating with PUBG MOBILE. The TEAM UP campaign makes up just one part of the massive three-day PUBG MOBILE Club Open 2019 Global Finals, where the top 16 teams from around the world will duke it out for ultimate bragging rights and a healthy slice of the massive $2.5 million USD prize pool. Over 90% of all on-site tickets are sold out, but players can still purchase the last remaining tickets here.

In addition to last week’s TEAM UP voting period, players can support their favorite of the top nine TEAM UP superstars to earn exclusive PUBG MOBILE rewards, including a customized PMCO in-game parachute, and the chance of lucky draw with exclusive giveaways provided by the nine stars and ALAN WALKER. From Thursday, July 18 to Thursday, July 25, special PUBG MOBILE missions are available each day, which will reward players with up to four voting tickets per day. GLADIATORIAL VR SIM ‘GORN’ LEAVES THE SHACKLES OF EARLY ACCESS

SOUTH AFRICA – Independent developer Free Lives (Broforce, Genital Jousting) and virtual game publisher Devolver Digital (also Broforce, Genital Jousting) have announced that VR sensation GORN has smashed out of Early Access and launched as GORN v1.0 on SteamVR and Oculus.

GORN is a ludicrously violent VR gladiator simulator featuring a unique, fully physics driven combat engine where combatants creatively execute their most violent colosseum fantasies in virtual reality. The acclaimed VR game entered Early Access in 2017 to high praise and huge success despite players propensity to smash screens and tear down light fixtures in the heat of battle. One player even dislocated their knee cap. Damage to personal property notwithstanding, GORN went on to become one of the top ten VR games in sales and one of the top three in user reviews on Steam during Early Access.

Free Lives spent the past two years adding in everything from new weapons and opponents to local cooperative modes and even a custom language within the GORN universe. That last one is a joke that frankly just got out of hand until they had a full language and a five-track hip-hop EP in said language. The final update in Early Access brings an ultimate showdown with a longtime nemesis, a new weapon, and more alongside SteamVR Index support and a slew of fixes and tweaks.
