EarthNight Takes the Dragon Apocalypse to Nintendo Switch in 2019

EarthNight Takes the Dragon Apocalypse to Nintendo Switch in 2019

Announced Today During the Nintendo Indie World Presentation

PHILADELPHIA – 20 Aug, 2019 – EarthNight, the hand-drawn action platformer set during the dragon apocalypse, leaps and dashes its way to Nintendo Switch in 2019, Nintendo revealed today as part of its Indie World presentation. Developer Cleaversoft also plans to release the title later this year for PlayStation 4 and Windows PC & Mac on Steam.

Dragons have taken over the Earth. Mankind now lives in exile, clinging to life in space colonies orbiting around the planet. Two heroes, the demon-possessed teen Sydney and sword-wielding Stanley, represent humanity’s last hope. Fighting to return to the place they once called home, the duo skydives through the monster-infested atmosphere to eliminate as many of the beasts as possible on the way back down to the planet below.

Racing along the serpentine dragons’ backs, Sydney and Stanley can harness their momentum to elude or dispatch the colorful swarms of enemies looking to trip them up along the way. Each character comes with distinct playstyles, offering sharp double jumps or lone gliding leaps and attacks, that can be manipulated precisely with minimalist but nuanced controls.

Those who master traversing these obstacle courses can vault higher into the sky, chaining jumps into the air where power-ups and other treasures await. At the end of a run, players will want to bring these collectibles back to the Appraiser, who exchanges them for persistent upgrades that can be used in the battles to come.

Even with new weapons and equipment, Sydney and Stanley need to remain on their toes. Each dragon is different from the last, fusing hand-crafted design with procedural elements to shape intricate encounters with near-infinite possibilities. Every moment is intense and layered with intricacy, inviting dragon slayers to come back for one more run in search of larger combo strings, higher scores, new items, secrets, warp zones, and more until they finally liberate Earth.

EarthNight was inspired by many of the platformers we grew up with in the ‘80s and early ‘90s, so it’s a dream come true to be putting our game on a Nintendo system,” said Rich Siegel, founder, Cleaversoft. “We can’t to wait show off everything we’ve learned from the classics and how we’re pushing the genre forward when EarthNight launches later this year.”

EarthNight is driven by an original soundtrack composed by chiptune musician Paul “Chipocrite” Weinstein and pairs its tunes with surreal, painterly visuals from artist Paul “Mattahan” Davey, who meticulously illustrated the game’s more than 10,000 frames of animation by hand.

For more information about EarthNight, please visit the official website, wishlist the game on the Nintendo eShop and Steam, and join the Cleaversoft community on Twitter and Facebook.

YAGER’S COMPETITIVE QUEST SHOOTER THE CYCLE LAUNCHES INTO EARLY ACCESS ON THE EPIC GAMES STORE

YAGER’S COMPETITIVE QUEST SHOOTER THE CYCLE LAUNCHES INTO EARLY ACCESS ON THE EPIC GAMES STORE

The Cycle’s first early access content update adds new gameplay systems, enemies and more!

BERLIN Aug. 20, 2019 More than 250,000 players braved The Cycle during alpha testing, and now YAGER’s fast-paced competitive quest shooter is free to download in early access for Windows PC via the Epic Games store. The Cycle will continue to grow and evolve throughout early access with additional supported languages and regular seasons of content drops created with community feedback. That begins today with the new “Crime & Punishment” update, introducing:

  • A new Duos mode allowing players to pair up together to take on other Prospectors. Duos joins the two other game modes: Solo, where players can queue alone, and Squads, where four players team up to take on the game’s challenges.
  • A new bounty hunter system designed to better balance PvEvP: players who frequently kill other prospectors will get marked as “ruthless” on the mini-map, revealing their location to everyone.
  • A new heat map showing areas with a high density of players — decide if you want to hunt down serious PvP action, or focus more on PvE in less populated areas.
  • The ability to level up your armor kits with better stats by collecting experience points.
  • Two new archetypes, the Gambler and Exo Biologist, along with a new enemy type: the Droids.
  • New sound effects for most weapons.
  • Support for in-game voice chat.

The Cycle is a match-based first-person shooter with a focus on PvEvP action, completing jobs, gearing up with new weapons and powers, out-scoring other players, and making it off the exotic, alien frontier of Fortuna III alive. Compete against and – if you choose – team up with other prospectors to harvest resources, defeat hostile lifeforms, and make your fortune before the world, your rivals, or your so-called allies kill you. It’s up to you how to stake your claim: go it alone, form squads with friends, or make uneasy alliances with strangers. The Cycle delivers a competitive multiplayer experience where everyone can survive, but how you choose to manage your precious time will make all the difference.

World of Tanks Reveals Battle Royale-Inspired Mode

Bringing brand-new mechanics, Steel Hunter will pit lone wolves and Platoons against each other

August 20, 2019 — As part of World of Tanks’ two-month long Tank Festival, players will find themselves on a brand-new map battling it out to be the last person (or Platoon) standing in Steel Hunter. The new mode will be available from August 26 to September 16 and introduces a slew of new game mechanics including looting, on-the-fly vehicle upgrades, airdrops and more.

The rules are simple. A no-holds-barred battle, the sole survivor or the surviving members of a single Platoon claim the victory. Every battle will start on a level playing field as each tanker will have the choice of three special tanks, representing the classic World of Tanks nations (the USSR, the USA and Germany). Before the battle starts, each of the twenty lone wolf tankers (or seven three-player Platoons) chooses a place to spawn on Dreamland, the brand-new city map specifically designed for Steel Hunter. As the battle unfolds, the area of play progressively gets smaller and so-called Danger Zones appear.

“A fresh challenge in World of Tanks, Steel Hunter shows we’re not done experimenting. Last year, we tested the foundations of this mode,” states Max Chuvalov, Publishing Director, World of Tanks. “Thanks to the overwhelmingly positive response from our players, we decided to build on those foundations and create a fully-fledged mode that will get players even more excited!”

The more advanced rules of “Steel Hunter” offer an immense amount of tactical options. Damaging enemies, cannibalizing their chasses and picking up loot will reward players with Battle XP, the most important commodity found on Dreamland. By collecting it, tankers will be able to upgrade their tanks on the go via a branching Tech Tree.

But Battle XP is not all that can be looted; by finding treasures or stopping off at special stationary loot points, players can restore their hit points or find ammo and consumables which can repair modules or turn the tide of battle by temporarily boosting mobility or accuracy. In addition, players will be able to take advantage of powerful abilities during the battle. These powerplay weapons enable tankers to set smoke screens, call airstrikes and create zones to replenish your and allies’ HP or slow down enemy vehicles.

And over the course of the event, players will be adequately rewarded for their tours of duty on Dreamland with a collection of decals, 2D styles, Credits, Bonds, Medals, Emblems and days of Premium Account. So, savour the hunting season in World of Tanks. Load up your guns and bring your friends—it’s fun to triumph in the end!
