NetEase Games and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment Announce Closed Beta Test for The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War™ on Google Play

Tolkien Fans in Australia and the Philippines Can Recruit Iconic Characters, Assemble Powerful Armies and Pursue the One Ring

GUANGZHOU, China, Jul 13, 2020 — NetEase Games and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced that the closed beta test in Australia and the Philippines for the officially licensed mobile strategy game, The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War, on Google Play will start from 15th July. Tolkien fans have another opportunity to step into Middle-earth and command their own armies with their favourite characters leading the charge.

In The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War, players will take on the role of a leader and build their armies for conquest, strategically expand their territory and form new alliances in pursuit of the One Ring. The game also features iconic characters who offer unique skills in battle, including Aragorn and Elrond, among other beloved characters.

Key to The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War is the formation of Fellowships, which encourages social interaction and teamwork. Players can build a small group of allies for a perfectly coordinated and executed attack or defense, but as stakes become higher and territories are won, it will be crucial to band together into a larger network of alliances. Where there are Fellowships there are also enemies; players will have to face and defeat fierce forces to ensure their dominance doesn’t come to a premature end.

The closed beta test on Google Play will run from 15th July and will last about 3 weeks. The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War is scheduled for a 2020 release.

●       ‘Fel Peon U’ has also won the chance to join the Chiefs ESC League of Legends Academy Program

●       He will represent Australia in the Red Bull Solo Q World Finals taking place in December this year

After three weeks of intense competition and a high-energy final, Nathan ‘Fel Peon U’ Edward Basser was yesterday crowned the inaugural National Champion of Red Bull Solo Q.

The Australian National Finals of Red Bull Solo Q, the official 1v1 League of Legends (LoL) tournament, culminated yesterday in an intense competition that saw 16 finalists duke it out for a range of prizes including a place in the Chiefs Esports Club’s Academy Program, coaching from The Chiefs Esports League of Legends team, and the opportunity to represent Australia at the Red Bull Solo Q World Finals.

Celebrating an outstanding victory, Nathan ‘Fel Peon U’ Edward Basser asserted himself National Champion against the other 15 finalists and over 450 entrants of the tournament. In an effort to accumulate the most points players were to be the first to eliminate their opponent (First blood!), reach 100 minion score, or destroy the opponents tower. ‘Fel Peon U’ had a rough climb to the top, losing one match in each best of three played in the series, before clean-sweeping the Grand Final in a perfect 3 – 0 against runner up Joel ‘Randomact’ Skewes.

Nathan ‘Fel Peon U’ Edward Basser will now join the Chiefs ESC Academy Program, where for three months they’ll receive fortnightly one-on-one coaching sessions with Coach, Chris ‘SeeEl’ Lee and the opportunity to train with a Chiefs ESC League of Legends player.

The program will look to prepare them for the Red Bull Solo Q World Finals, where they will face off against National Finalists from over 35 participating countries*, for the chance to claim the Grand Final title and win a League of Legends All-Star experience.

“With Red Bull Solo Q hitting Australia for the first time this year, we’re extremely lucky to be able to head straight to the World Finals and see an Aussie on the world stage. We’re ready to support Nathan on his journey, and can’t wait to see how he performs.” Says Nick Bobir, Managing Director of The Chiefs Esports Club.

As part of the partnership with League of Legends Global Esports Events, the winner of the Red Bull Solo Q World Finals will be able to experience the 2020 League of Legends All-Star Event firsthand*! Alongside some of League of Legends’ biggest esports athletes and streaming personalities, they will participate in League’s annual year-end celebration, including playing in showcase matches and attending exclusive parties.

EA SPORTS UFC 4 OFFICIALLY REVEALED WITH UFC MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPION ISRAEL ADESANYA AND UFC WELTERWEIGHT JORGE MASVIDAL AS COVER ATHLETES

EA SPORTSTM UFC 4 Launches August 14, Get a First Look in the Official UFC 4 Reveal Trailer Pre-Order Today for Access to Heavyweight Boxing Champions Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury and the All New Backyard and Kumite Customization Packs

LAS VEGAS, NV – July 13, 2020 – Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) today revealed EA SPORTS™ UFC® 4 featuring UFC® middleweight champion Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya and UFC welterweight contender Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal as the game’s official cover athlete duo. The next game in the popular UFC franchise brings a new experience that puts the player and their created fighter at the center of the action. Featuring an all-new unified progression system, overhauled takedown and ground mechanics, more fluid clinch-to-strike combinations and the chance to experience the origins of combat sports in all-new environments, UFC 4 delivers the most polished mixed martial arts experience to date. Players who pre-order* the game can play out one of the most anticipated fights in combat sports history with world heavyweight boxing champions Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury on day one.

“EA SPORTS UFC 4 is the best fighting game ever made,” UFC President Dana White said. “Fans can play in the top arenas, as well as in Backyard and Kumite environments. This game allows you to play with some of the top athletes in UFC history, plus legends like Bruce Lee and boxing champions Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. It’s crazy how good this game is.”

“I am the face of the new wave of UFC fighters, so it feels right to represent the sport on this new generation UFC game,” said UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. “I look forward to my fans playing as me as much as I have enjoyed playing as myself.”

In EA SPORTS UFC 4, the fighter is shaped by their fight style, achievements and personality. Players can develop and customize characters through a unified progression system across all modes to go from unknown amateur to UFC superstar in the new Career Mode. New to UFC 4, players can also experience four all-new environments, including The Kumite, The Backyard, UFC Apex and Action Avenue, or challenge the world in new Blitz Battles or Online World Championships to become the undisputed champ. Performance details like weight class and one of five MMA disciplines, including Wrestling, Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing and more, define how players fight, while over 1,600 new pieces of earnable gear, over 120 emotes and more allow players to put their personality on display while doing it.

“UFC 4 is the most authentic MMA game ever,” said Brian Hayes, Creative Director, EA SPORTS UFC. “We’ve created a visceral fighting experience that allows players to create their own UFC legacy with Create a Fighter, explore the origins of MMA through our new fighting grounds and be in full control of every strike and takedown with our overhauled core gameplay mechanics.”

“MMA is more than about the belt. It’s about who you are as a person and the determination that drives a fighter to go from unknown to selling out arenas all over the world,” said UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal. “I grew up backyard fighting so it’s exciting for me to see that style of fighting come to UFC 4 where players can bring out their Gamebred mentality.”

In gameplay, fluid clinch-to-strike combinations offer more responsive and authentic stand-up gameplay experiences, while overhauled takedown and ground mechanics deliver more control in those key phases of the fight. No matter how or where players play, EA SPORTS UFC 4 puts them at the center of every fight. Fluid clinch control brings RPM into the art of the ‘clinch’, adding a key element of strategy to the striking system. RPM Tech drives a takedown overhaul, with a slew of new takedown animations, driven by player control and fighter attributes. A new submission system was built to offer a simplified player experience, with more ways to transition into submission attempts, accelerate a finish, or deploy high-impact slams to escape them.

Additionally, an overhaul to Career Mode introduces a brand-new way to develop fighter backstories and offers an in-depth evolution process for the duration of the fighter’s career. The new fighter evolution feature lets players dictate a fighter’s skillset, as every punch thrown, or every takedown executed builds fighters up in that specific discipline. Relationship Building brings the impact of partnerships and rivalries into UFC 4, learning from both friend and foe to gain experience and learn vital skills. Players can pick their path, which allows them to choose the fights, weight class and rivalries they want, ensuring no two careers are alike.

EA SPORTS UFC 4 is available worldwide on Friday, August 14 on PlayStation®4 and Xbox One. Players who pre-order* the game now will get boxers Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, along with a Backyard Customization Pack and Kumite Customization Pack containing cosmetic items. Additional benefits± are available for players who purchase UFC 4 through an in-game tile in UFC 3 or UFC 2, including 10% off UFC 4, martial arts legend Bruce Lee and 500 UFC points.

UBISOFT ANNOUNCES HYPER SCAPE™ OPEN BETA AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY

PC Players across the World Can Discover the Fast-Paced Urban Battle Royale and Viewers Can Begin Earning Battle Pass XP Just by Watching Content Creators

Sydney, AUSTRALIA July 13, 2020 — Today at Ubisoft Forward, Ubisoft® announced a Hyper Scape™ Open Beta for all PC Players available immediately worldwide. Hyper Scape is a free-to-play fast-paced urban battle royale first person shooter. Developed by Ubisoft Montreal, Hyper Scape takes place in the distant future of 2054, where up to 100 Contenders descend upon the virtual city of Neo-Arcadia to engage in action-packed and fast-paced matches to be crowned champion.

During this Open Beta, Hyper Scape will introduce Crown Rush Solo, a  100-player free-for-all version of its main Battle Royale mode, on top of the previously available 3-player squad mode Crown Rush Squad, The Open Beta will also feature two new limited time modes: Hack Runner Squad and Turbo Mode Squad. Additionally, the Open Beta includes one new hack and weapon, Shockwave and Harpy respectively. These additions build on the previously available nine weapons and nine hacks from the Technical Test.

Hyper Scape’s Open Beta will also introduce all new features to the innovative Crowncast Twitch extension, including Battle Pass progression by watching Hyper Scape live streams on Twitch and the ability for streamers to invite viewers directly into their squad from Twitch chat. These additions are on top of the previously available Viewer Events, which allow all Twitch viewers the opportunity to have a real-time impact on the real-time battle by voting on events that affect all contenders within a match, such as Low Gravity, or Infinite Ammo. The Open Beta introduces a new Event called Haste that increases the game’s speed for all contenders.

The Hyper Scape Open Beta will include a free 30 tier battle pass alongside an in-game shop offering additional customization options. All Open Beta progress and items will carry over through future live phases and into the full launch, across PC and console. Hyper Scape will launch its Season One for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 later this summer.

Hyper Scape was designed from the ground up as an intense, vertical and fast-paced battle royale experience with Twitch streamers in mind. Three-player squads and solo players can dive into the futuristic virtual city of Neo- Arcadia to engage in dynamic firefights, quickly transitioning from narrow streets to open rooftops and deadly interiors.

Hyper Scape introduces Hacks, abilities that players can loot in the world the same way they do weapons. Hacks grant offensive and defensive capabilities to suit all playstyles. Laying down a mine, seeking an enemy, protecting the squad with a big wall or turning invisible to sneak up on opponents are just a few examples of the Hacks players can combine and swap effortlessly. All Hacks and weapons can be upgraded through the Fusion mechanic to produce more powerful iterations of the pre-existing item.

Hyper Scape innovates and twists the battle royale formula in many ways, such as the unpredictable Decay which dissolves the map of Neo-Arcadia into different patterns, or the unique Echo mechanic that keeps players active in the battle even when they’re down. At the end of a Hyper Scape match, the climactic showdown phase starts when the Hyper Scape crown spawns on the map. Players have two different ways to claim victory, either by picking up and carrying the crown for 45 seconds or by being the last player or squad standing.

Today during Ubisoft Forward, Ubisoft announced that Far Cry® 6 is currently in development and will release February 18, 2021 on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Stadia, and the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Store on Windows PC, as well as on UPLAY+, Ubisoft’s subscription service*.

With performances from renowned actor and Emmy Award Nominee Giancarlo Esposito (Better Call Saul, The Boys, The Mandalorian) joined by Anthony Gonzalez (Coco), a score created by film and television composer Pedro Bromfman (Narcos), and an opening sequence directed by Emmy Award winner Patrick Clair (Westworld, True Detective), Far Cry 6 brings in Hollywood-calibre talent to bolster the narrative experience.

Players will be able to play as either male or female Dani Rojas, a local Yaran swept up in a revolution against Antón Castillo. As Dani, players will become a guerrilla fighter and explore and unite an entire island nation, from lush jungles to Yara’s capital city Esperanza. UBISOFT ANNOUNCES WATCH DOGS®: LEGION WILL BE AVAILABLE OCTOBER 29, 2020

SAN FRANCISCO – JULY 12, 2020 – Today at Ubisoft’s first digital press conference, Ubisoft Forward, the company announced that Watch Dogs®: Legion will launch on October 29, 2020, on Xbox One, PlayStation®4, Stadia and for Windows PC on Epic Games and Uplay. The game will also be available on UPLAY+*, Ubisoft’s subscription service. Watch Dogs: Legion will also release on Xbox Series X and PlayStation®5 upon the launch of the consoles.

Built with a next-gen concept, Watch Dogs: Legion introduces “Play as Anyone,” a never-before-seen gameplay innovation created by Ubisoft Toronto**, the studio behind Watch Dogs: Legion. Play as Anyone gives players the entire city of London to choose their roster of resistance members from. Every single person in the open world can be recruited and played, is unique and has a backstory, personality and skillset. Watch Dogs: Legion will also support hardware-accelerated DirectX Raytracing on Xbox Series X and full ray-tracing support on Nvidia RTX-equipped PC devices, bringing real-time ray-tracing reflections to the streets of London. Players who purchase Watch Dogs: Legion on Xbox One or PlayStation4 will be able to upgrade their game to the next-gen version (Xbox Series X or PlayStation5) at no additional cost***.

In Watch Dogs: Legion, London is facing its downfall. Amidst the growing unrest of a restless London, a mysterious entity known as Zero-Day has framed secret underground resistance DedSec for coordinated bombings across London. In the aftermath, criminal opportunists from every dark corner of London took hold and filled the void left by a defeated government. As a member of DedSec, players will be going up against criminal opportunists in Watch Dogs: Legion; sadists, mercenaries, cybercriminals, and more; they’ll have to be prepared for a variety of situations. Players must recruit members into their DedSec Resistance to take on these criminal opportunists, liberate London and uncover the mystery behind Zero-Day.

Watch Dogs: Legion lets players recruit anyone they can see in the open world to be part of their DedSec Resistance up to 40 characters at a time. The London setting gives players the perfect backdrop to recruit all kinds of characters – who each have unique skills and weapons – to their Resistance: from an MI6 agent to a bareknuckle fighter, from a brilliant hacker to a getaway driver, from a football hooligan to an inconspicuous old lady. Players can play as any character from their roster of recruits and approach a situation based on their preference; whether the approach is from the sky while riding high on a cargo drone as a construction worker, or on the ground as a spy using high-tech gadgets like a gun-jamming watch and a prototype of a rocket-firing car, the choice is for the player to make.

In addition, Ubisoft announced the Gold, Ultimate and Collector’s Editions**** for Watch Dogs: Legion:

  • Gold Edition includes the base game and the Season Pass, including new story expansions, extra DedSec missions, four unique heroes, the Complete Edition of the original Watch Dogs game from 2014, and more.
  • Ultimate Edition includes Gold Edition and Ultimate digital content, including three new playable heroes, four weeks’ VIP Status to earn currency faster and new masks.
  • Collector’s Edition includes the Ultimate Edition plus the LED Ded Coronet Mask Replica, an exclusive SteelBook®, a set of three stickers and a recto-verso propaganda poster, all inspired by the game’s universe, and instant access to the mask in-game. Watch Dogs: Legion Now Set for October 29 Release

It feels like Watch Dogs: Legion has been a long time coming but it looks like that wait will be over soon as Ubisoft revealed during their streaming event that the game will be releasing on October 29th for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia on October 29th with an eventual PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X version planned sometime in the future. Similar to the other games given release dates during the event, this one will also allow those who purchase the current-gen versions of the game to upgrade to next-gen at no extra cost.

Alongside this release date announcement Watch Dogs: Legion was also given a lengthy cinematic trailer as well as nearly eight minutes of gameplay footage and both of these videos can be found below. As for the game itself, players will find themselves in a future where London has been taken over by corrupt opportunists and it is up to the players to build a resistance to take the city back for the people.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Sets Sail on November 17

During their big streaming event today Ubisoft announced that they will be releasing Assassin’s Creed Valhalla onto the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Stadia on November 17th. Surprisingly, the company appears to not have an exact release date set for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X version of the game at this time but when it is released those who purchased the last-gen versions will be able to upgrade at no extra cost.

To go along with this announcement Ubisoft also released a small overview trailer as well as a lengthy thirty minute long gameplay video showing off a little of everything that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has to offer including a look at the raids that players can hold against Saxon troops and fortresses across England. These raids see the player leading their clan in attacks from your longship and pillage enemy territories to bring riches and resources back to your people. These resources can be used to construct and upgrade buildings that allow for deep customization, including a barracks, blacksmith, tattoo parlor, and more.
