New update 0.9.6 deploys three historical German CVs in Early Access, starts a new Season of Ranked Battles, features updated Hamburg Port and host of other improvements 

World of Warships has today seen the release of the new Update 0.9.6, kicking off a new event centred around the long-awaited introduction of German aircraft carriers in Early Access. The new German CVs are the Tier IV Rhein, Tier VI Weser, and Tier VIII August von Parseval, all three of which can be obtained by completing special combat missions, which can be dropped from German Carriers containers. 

The historical German aircraft carriers featured in World of Warships were either planned or partially constructed during World War II but never actually deployed or launched. In World of Warships, they come equipped with attack aircraft featuring a new type of ammunition: armour-penetrating rockets that can inflict heavy damage to enemy citadels if successful. German bombers carry armour-penetrating bombs, which are most effectively dropped on slower targets. The torpedoes are short-range and fast, but only dish out moderate levels of damage. The planes themselves have high cruising speeds but are somewhat fragile with low HP pools. 

The new German CVs can be obtained through the German Carriers containers that are given as rewards to players who complete combat missions, as well as Directives, Daily Shipments, and for watching streams. The containers can also drop the new “Black-White-Red” expendable camouflage and other rewards. Also given out for completing special chains of combat missions are German Tokens, which can be used to obtain rewards in the Armoury such as Iron Cross permanent camouflage for Tier X Großer Kurfürst, Tier X Z-52, Tier X Hindenburg and Tier X Manfred von Richthofen, which will become available for research at a later date,  as well as “Black-White-Red” expendable camouflage patterns, credits and signals.

Furthermore, Update 0.9.6 also introduces a fully reworked and renamed Equipment menu (the former Modules tab). Players can take advantage of a more streamlined interface to manage upgrades, consumables and modules of a ship at a quick glance in one window. Ships that haven’t yet been purchased can also be viewed in the new Ship Preview mode. The Update also includes many other interesting and useful changes that will simplify things a lot for players.  

Update 0.9.6 also brings a new Season of Ranked Battles with a 7vs7 format, playing Tier VIII ships, an updated version of the Hamburg Port, other improvements such as sound engine updates, new sound effects, and enhanced HDR improvements in Naval Base, Azur Lane, Dragon, and Sarushima Base ports.

revamped social, crafting and competitive features

BERLIN – July 8, 2020 – The third season of YAGER’s competitive quest shooter The Cycle is here! Season 3 introduces a big showstopper: Prospect Station, a new social hub for all players. In this bustling space station orbiting Fortuna III, you’re free to interact with other players, grab new missions, craft items for your next match and more. Spend less time in menus in your new home away from home!

Season 3 also raises the stakes with a new setpiece contract on a moving Mag Train available on both maps. As the train loops around the environment, squads must battle to get on board and keep it locked down, forcing players to use whatever cover they can find in close-quarters combat without falling off!

There’s a ton of other new content added with Season 3 today, as well, including:

While the presence of a mask on a stranger may invoke feelings of distrust and uncertainty, the exact opposite can be said of the An’mu. While wearing their protective masks, the An’mu demonstrate that they are friendly allies willing to help Ti’bi on his journey. Through complex puzzles and hazardous situations masked An’mu can be used to make a quick escape or progress through a level otherwise inaccessible to Ti’bi. On the other hand, an unmasked An’mu should be avoided at all costs —  their exposed appearance means that their souls have been corrupted and they will viciously attack Ti’bi given the chance.

When encountering an unmasked An’mu, there is no chance of talking things out. Ti’bi has to decide whether he will run for safety or risk his life! 

Eternal Hope is a visually captivating puzzle-platformer inspired by the artistic stylings of Studio Ghibli. Giving new meaning “life after death”, players take on the role of Ti’bi, a young, grief-stricken boy haunted by the untimely death of his beloved girlfriend. Snapshot VR brings the incredibly fast-paced and intense tactical gameplay of real-life professional paintball into a futuristic virtual arena shooter with team-based matches of up to five players per side.
