Time to Get…Orbital! Award-Winning 360° Rogue-lite Sci-Fi Shooter Orbital Bullet is Now Available on Steam Early Access

Whether You Swirl, Swivel, or Spiral — Just Make Sure You Keep Going ‘Round and ‘Round

Wiesbaden, Germany (April 22, 2021) — German publisher Assemble Entertainment and developer SmokeStab Studio are thrilled to announce today the Early Access launch of their highly-anticipated award-winning rogue-lite shooter Orbital Bullet. Now available on Windows PC via Steam, Orbital Bullet introduces a genre-bending 360° rotating level design, providing a whirling and swirling high-octane guns-blazing action-platforming experience where you’ll need to play a deadly game of “ring-around-the-rosie” in order to outsmart enemies and dodge all manner of propelled perils.

Orbital Bullet is a title that screams ‘instant classic,’ and we’re thrilled to have such a unique and refreshing addition to the beloved genre in our quickly expanding roster,” said Assemble Entertainment CEO Stefan Marcinek. “The game brings something long-desired to the table in the form of fast-paced action and eccentric gameplay paired with distinctive level design and classic rogue-lite merit.”

Orbital Bullet is included in Assemble Entertainment’s massive (and exclusive) publisher sale on Steam, where almost the entire portfolio of indie titles are available for up to 90% off for a limited time. The sale kicks off today at 1:00 PM Eastern.

To celebrate the Early Access release, Assemble Entertainment has unveiled a brand new launch trailer, depicting one of Orbital Bullet’s not-yet-seen level biomes: the Water Planet. In addition to the lush and flourishing Jungle and Cave biomes, the Water Planet introduces new bosses, tricky puzzles, and environmental perplexities.
Watch the Orbital Bullet Early Access Launch Trailer:

Orbital Bullet is a multi-award-winning action-platformer that takes the tried-and-true, highly addictive rogue-lite formula and adds a unique twist with a 360° rotating level design. Players can expect fluid, fast-paced gameplay featuring procedurally generated enemies and level elements, with “instant-transmission” upon completion of a stage — keeping the rhythm going and the action flowing! Of course, it wouldn’t be a rogue-lite without a deep skill tree, game-changing body modifications, upgrades, and of course, a diverse range of heavy weaponry with which to dispatch the hordes of enemies keeping you from reaching the next level!

Key Features of Orbital Bullet:

  • Nothing ‘Rosie’ About This Ring: A unique 2.5D ring-shaped world offers a one-of-a-kind setting fresh for the genre with a rotating 360° level design. Make the most satisfying long-range curved snipes you’ve ever made, or blast and shred enemies with a load from the Hyper Shotgun.

  • Bullets and Body Mods: No rogue-lite is complete without all sorts of nifty upgrades, mods, skill trees, and heavy weapons to keep your sci-fi fustigator strapped and ready for action — enhance your character’s vigor by unlocking permanent upgrades such as the Combo System, the Medi-Backpack, or a stronger starting weapon.

  • Stay Classy: Four meticulously crafted classes can be unlocked by solving challenging puzzles and include epic abilities per class, such as the turret-wielding Engineer or the fire-fueled Hellion.

  • Intense Arcade Action: A game that defines “one more run”, Orbital Bullet throws players into the fray with fierce, frenetic action. Jump, dodge, and shoot your way through hordes of enemies as you wind your way around several beautiful and unique biomes.

  • No Time to Relax: Instant level transitions upon completion of a stage keep the mayhem flowing and your trigger finger dialed; no more interrupting the rhythm with cutscenes or hub worlds!

The promising and already highly acclaimed action-platformer has already won several awards, including “Best Concept with Prototype” at GermanDevDays 2019, and the second-place prize in the “Prototype Young Talent Award” category at Deutscher Entwicklerpreis 2019. The Heidelberg-based studio SmokeStab also had Orbital Bullet nominated for the highly industry-relevant IGF Awards as “Best Student Game” at GDC 2020.

Throughout Early Access, developer SmokeStab Studio invites casual players, fans, and all members of the community to join the official Discord to share feedback, gameplay recommendations, content suggestions for new weapons, challenges, bosses, planets, enemies, and more during the pre-launch phase.

Developed by SmokeStab Studio and published by Assemble Entertainment, Orbital Bullet is an Early Access title currently available on Steam for $12.99 USD. On theme with the game’s diverse biome-based environments, Assemble Entertainment has teamed up with Ocean Cleanup — a non-profit foundation leading the world’s largest coordinated ocean cleanup effort — to offer a special Save The World Edition on Steam for $22.99 USD, which includes the official game soundtrack and a 10% donation to the cause. ABOUT THE RIFTBREAKER™:

As Captain Ashley S. Nowak, “the Riftbreaker,” you enter a one-way portal to Galatea 37, a distant planet at the far reaches of the Milky Way. Your purpose is to build and develop a base that will allow travel to and from Earth for further colonization. Ashley’s Mecha-Suit, which she calls “Mr. Riggs,” can withstand the harshest environmental conditions and has a full range of equipment for base construction, resource extraction, specimen gathering, and of course – combat. It is also capable of traveling through rifts that connect space across vast distances.

MAIN FEATURES:

  • BASE BUILDING – Your task is to construct a two-way rift connected to Earth. This will be a very complex undertaking requiring enormous amounts of energy. Simple solar collectors and a few tons of steel will not be enough. You will need to build up an intricate chain of mines, refineries, power plants, and research facilities to complete this mission.
  • EXPLORATION – Galatea 37 is an unknown planet in the Sycorax belt of the Milky Way galaxy. Remote surveys have detected that it is inhabitable and perfect for colonization. The planet is full of rare minerals and substances that can be found scattered across the globe. Various biomes will surprise you with unknown fauna and flora, as well as harsh weather conditions. Construct local outposts in resource-rich locations to transport the required resources using rift technology.
  • DEFENSE – Your presence on this planet will not go unnoticed! As you build up your industry and disrupt the natural order, the planet will start to see you as a threat. Build up your defenses. Construct walls, barriers, and defense towers as the attacks get stronger with every passing day. You will face thousands of hostile creatures trying to eliminate your presence.
  • HACK, SLASH, SHOOT – Mr. Riggs can be equipped with powerful weapons and abilities that will allow you to take on the largest of beasts. You will need to be ready to face lots of hostile alien creatures as you explore the planet.
  • GATHER SAMPLES AND STRANGE ARTIFACTS – Felled beasts will drop valuable research specimens as well as rare resources. Use everything you can gather to research and craft new technologies, buildings, weapons, and equipment. You can also scout the terrain using your sensors and dig for treasure buried underground.
  • RESEARCH – Use your gathered samples to research new technologies that will help you build up your base, improve your defenses, develop new blueprints for your Mecha-Suit, or improve existing technologies.
  • CRAFT – Mr. Riggs is fully customizable and upgradeable. Use the blueprints that you’ve researched to craft new parts and weapons. Utilizing better materials in the crafting process will result in gear with improved properties. Each crafted item has unique properties.
  • INTERACTIVE STREAMING – The Riftbreaker™ has built-in integration with all the most popular streaming services. The stream’s audience can actively participate in the game through multiple options, e.g., by voting to send waves of new enemies, donating resources, or spawning environmental disasters like a tornado.
  • THE SCHMETTERLING ENGINE – This game is built using the latest iteration of EXOR Studios’ in-house developed Schmetterling 2.0 engine, which was previously used to create X-Morph: Defense™ and Zombie Driver™. We pride ourselves in delivering fluid gameplay and utilizing all your hardware’s capabilities: uncapped frame rate, support for widescreen monitors, customizable controls, and more.
  • COMMUNITY-DRIVEN DEVELOPMENT – If you’ve already read everything up to this point, then you might be interested in helping us shape the game. Please get in touch with us via our official Discord server or any other of our social media channels. We’ll be sharing inside info about the progress of the game’s development, and we’d love to hear your feedback. Please come and help us make The Riftbreaker™ the game YOU want to play!

Action RPG Almighty: Kill Your Gods Coming to PC on May 5th

Public Playtest Available from April 26th until the 28th

Baltimore, MD – April 22nd 2021 – Independent games publisher Versus Evil and developer RUNWILD Entertainment today announced that their third person co-op action RPG Almighty: Kill Your Gods will be coming to Steam Early Access on PC on May 5th with console versions following later in the year. A public playtest which begins on 26th April and gives action RPG fans a chance to try the game out for themselves.

In Almighty: Kill Your Gods, you take on the persona of an Alpha, a magical warrior infused with the power of your ancestors, reborn to take a stand for your tribe against the tyranny and oppression of the Elder Gods. Almighty: Kill Your Gods is a game about reclaiming and rebuilding your home in the face of impossible odds, armed with your magic gauntlets you’ll hunt demons, monsters, and gods taking them down with devastating ranged or melee attacks, or utilizing amulets to summon powerful spells.

Aside from big action and god sized fights, Almighty: Kill Your Gods is an action RPG geared around resource management, crafting and customization as much as it is about intense combat, allowing players to experiment with various loadouts with the freedom to create their very own playstyle and look.

With seamless online co-op gameplay, Alphas can team up and fight in packs of 4 as they hunt and take down the various demonic and powerful beings who threaten their world. These are frenetic monster sized battles where your combat skills and loadouts will be fully tested as you look to capitalize on valuable loot drops from enemies taken down in tandem with a player ally.

Teaming up also means players can help defend each other’s Island homesteads from devastating enemy raids and they can build and upgrade defensive towers, farms, and other  buildings, all of which will boost the homesteads local economy.

The dynamic sandbox design means that every play will be different, including the behaviors from roaming Gods and monsters. Anger these behemoths and watch as violence escalates and your Island changes.

Almighty: Kill Your Gods is a single player and multiplayer  action RPG with some amazing action, crafting and customization which brings a lot of different options players can experiment with. It’s safe to say we’re bringing a multi-layered action RPG with some monster sized action unlike anything else on the market right now.” said Steve Escalante, Versus Evil General Manager.
