ODDWORLD INHABITANTS BREWING SOULSTORM FOR XBOX SERIES X|S & XBOX ONE CONSOLES
New content soon to be announced – Ready or not, the entire fate of the Mudokon species is in Abe’s (and your) hands!
The announcement teaser is available here
Sydney, Australia – August 19, 2021 – Today, Microids and Oddworld Inhabitants are pleased to confirm that the explosive action-adventure platformer Oddworld: Soulstorm is coming to Xbox One consoles and Xbox Series X|S. Retail editions will also be available for Xbox versions.
Game Features:
Explosive Action-Adventure Platformer: Evolving the platforming genre by adding RPG-lite elements with player agency to play as you like, whether aggressively or passively. Pickpocket your enemies, loot lockers, sift through trash cans, and find hidden areas to acquire resources. Exchange resources at vending machines to get products that give you more agency in how you chose to conquer the game’s many challenges. Acquire recipes to craft tools and weapons to use against opposing forces or solve problems. Arm your followers and watch the revolution begin.
Epicness: This isn’t a traditional 2D side scrolling platformer. Soulstorm is a 2.9D action-adventure platformer with 15 hours of gameplay, and dozens more for achievement hunters and perfectionists. Epic environments with massive scale to explore by going into the world, rather than being limited to the traditional side scrolling platformer sense.
Start a Revolution: A dark storyline with a twisted sense of humor that shines a light on the ironies that exist in the human condition. As a slave to big business, a cog in the corporate machine being grinded to death, Abe tries to save them all and along the way he goes from a nobody to potentially starting a global revolution.
Completionists: Can you save every single Mudokon in the game (there are more than 1,000)? Can you achieve the best ending and unlock the final two playable levels? Can you scavenge every trash can and locker, kill or safely apprehend every antagonist, find every hidden area, collect every jelly? 3+m players have had the opportunity to do it…will you be the first to do it on Xbox?
Multiple Endings: Soulstorm has 15 levels, with two additional unlockable levels at the end of the game. There are 4 types of endings in the game, each depending on your Quarma. At the end of each individual level, you receive a Quarma score, which is based on the number of Mudokons you save. If you succeed in saving enough Mudokons throughout all the levels, you’ll get one of the good endings. But beware: if your Quarma score isn’t high enough, you’ll get a more… dire fate!
***
An improved gameplay experience Since Soulstorm first launched on April 6, Oddworld Inhabitants have been listening to players’ feedback and suggestions and released seven updates to enhance the game’s experience. They are thrilled to say Oddworld: Soulstorm’s gameplay has been refined on all platforms through fixes, removal of bugs, level design and balance adjustments, as well as quality of life improvements. No game is bug free, but the version that players can download right now for PS5, PS4, and Epic Games Store is one the studio is proud of and believes they will enjoy. Same goes for the PS5 and PS4 physical versions that can be found at retailers. The Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One versions will have the same fixes already implemented.

About Apogee Entertainment
Apogee Software’s pioneering journey began in 1987, when Scott Miller decided to split his new game, Kingdom of Kroz, into three episodes, with the first episode available as free shareware. The “Apogee model” of distribution revolutionized PC gaming at the time and catapulted Apogee Software to global renown. As an indie publisher, Apogee (and it’s later incarnation, 3D Realms) would introduce the world to id Software, Remedy Entertainment, Parallax Software, and other video game superstars in the making. As a developer, Apogee would innovate and inspire in equal measure, creating treasured characters and franchises like Duke Nukem, Max Payne, Shadow Warrior, and Prey en route to earning over a billion dollars.
The new Apogee Entertainment, with founder Scott Miller and longtime partner Terry Nagy at the helm, will empower today’s incredibly talented indie developers, paving the way for their global success with innovative ideas, cutting-edge marketing, and the same fearlessness that changed the industry.

London, UK – August 18th, 2021 – Video game players are a passionate bunch and it’s a common occurrence for enthusiasts to make creative projects for their beloved pastime. Fanart, mods, videos, memes, gifs, video guides, music, you name it. It’s all created by fans. Generally speaking these projects are shared on social media, but rarely are the creators of such content able to monetise their efforts. That’s where Playerstate comes in. Playerstate offers an innovative new creation platform that allows creative players a way to create content around or for their favorite games and get rewarded in the process.
Similar to many of today’s most popular social media platforms, Playerstate will allow users to follow others to see what content they’re posting, like and share their favorite posts, and join groups. What makes Playerstate different is users on the platform can discover creative projects that inspire them and get involved, or they can create their own projects and rally the people they need to bring their project to life. Projects on the platform can be created by companies or individuals and users can showcase their creative portfolio to help them get noticed and recognised as creators in the industry.
What makes Playerstate truly unique however, is its approach to rewards and compensation wherein all creators are rewarded fairly. It doesn’t matter if a user has been a graphic designer for decades or is a teenager, just starting their career; Playerstate aims to create a flexible environment that doesn’t discriminate between professionals and passionate fans. Everyone on the platform will have the opportunity to participate and everyone on the platform will be rewarded for the value they create, whether they are a professional or not.
To achieve this, Playerstate offers multiple layers of rewards. Active users will earn experience points (XP) simply by participating in the platform, which will be used to level up, unlock new features and access revenue share opportunities as the platform scales.
Additionally, project owners will set their own rewards, and this provides another layer of opportunity for creators. Project rewards can range from digital goods like in-game currency and skins, to cash. Projects can be set up and run in two ways; for specialised or time consuming work, project owners will share briefs and agree on budgets with creators before work has started. For low touch, passion driven projects, project owners can set a project up as a community challenge. For example, a game developer might challenge their community to imagine a new level or character and draw or sketch it. The developer will then build the winning entry and add it to the game. Developers could also use community challenges to incentivise their community to create viral marketing content such as GIFs, memes, video content or fan art.
It’s this innovative thinking and reward structure that convinced Ubisoft to choose Playerstate to be part of its Entrepreneurs Lab program selection in 2019. Early tests on the platform have shown Playerstate has increased community engagement for developers by over 500% in some cases.
As Playerstate enters its early access phase, it’s partnered with RyseUp Studios to embolden the community in developing its roguelite shooter Roboquest.
“One of the biggest hurdles game developers face today is keeping their player base engaged. If you want to drive engagement, you need to empower your community,” said Playerstate Co-Founder and CEO Dean Anderson. “Unfortunately, most attempts at these kinds of collaborations resulted in an exploitative environment with thousands of passionate players getting nothing, while a small handful of creators received a payout. Playerstate isn’t like that. With Playerstate, everyone gets rewarded for the value they create.”
“Playerstate is not the only innovator in this space, platforms such as Roblox have experienced significant success in recent years off the back of user-generated content. However, on platforms like Roblox, users are limited to create content for that platform only,” added Anderson. “On Playerstate, creators can collaborate with each other or developers to create content for any game. The vision is that in time, individuals will come together on the platform, and learn the skills needed to earn a living or create and publish their own games.”

Innominate Games developers explain the reasons behind postponing the release date for their upcoming turn-based strategy game.
CountryBalls Heroes – a crazy, turn-based strategy game full of memes and real-world references will launch on Steam in Q4 2021. Read below about further plans for the game, content updates and next steps developers have planned.
Here’s what Innominate Games has to say about the game’s release date change:
“Hello!
Today we have planned to inform you that everything is good and the game is coming to you according to the plan. Unfortunately, we’re coming with bad news. The Steam support informed us that its crew needs more time to review the game. Usually, it takes from 3 up to 5 days. In this case, we received a recommendation from Steam to change the game’s launch date because they won’t be able to review CountryBalls Heroes in time. Therefore, we need to postpone CountryBalls Heroes’ premiere. The game is 100% complete, and it has been ready for you for a couple of weeks. However, Steam procedures require that we wait at least 30 days before setting the new launch date. Therefore, we’ve decided to change the date to Q4 of 2021 and give you some more specific information on the premiere’s day once Steam’s review is complete and we have a green light.
We are aware that many of you awaited this game, and you’re probably as heartbroken as we are right now. We have some good news as well, though. There were a lot of discussions about making this delay up to you somehow. Finally, we came up with an idea to use this time to create one more playable map. You’ll receive a bit more content in exchange for some more patience. What’s more, initially, we wanted to give you a launch discount of 15% on the day of the game’s premiere. In this case, we’ve decided to change the discount to 20%. Again, anything to make this prolonged wait up to you! Finally, we will use this time to start working on the multiplayer mode that you’ve been requesting a lot! Stay with us, and remember that without you, we won’t be able to protect all those vodka supplies!
Sit back and roast some sinners by the fire while you craft the hell of your dreams!
Rome, Italy – 18th August 2021. Welcome to Hell. It’s hot, noisy and it’s looking a little run down. It’s time for a makeover and YOU are the best person for the job! It’s time to unleash your creative side as the highly anticipated, dark humoured and gore filled survival sim Hell Architect launches today for PC via Steam and GOG.com for £19.49 / €22.99 / $24.99 with a day one 15% discount.
Published by Leonardo Interactive and developed by Woodland Games, Hell Architect puts you in the role of, you guessed it, an architect of Hell. Your task here is to craft new prisons for the lost souls and sinners who have found themselves ‘downstairs’. Just like all good (or bad) big corporations, Hell is a tightly run ship and under the watchful eye of Lilith from the HR department, you must devise the most creative ways to squeeze as much suffering as you can out of the sinners who will be spending eternity in this hot spot. That’s not all. To climb down the corporate ladder, you must gain the approval of the greatest and most feared devils in Hell, including the head honcho, Lucifer himself, as they evaluate your hard work as well as your sense of aesthetics and thriftiness!
You will have a host of options available to start crafting your own Hell. All the lost souls who arrive through the gates have their own abilities and traits so put them to work harvesting resources and doing the grunt work while you concentrate on researching buildings to make sure their stay in Hell is as ‘comfortable’ as possible. From toilets and canteens to shrines and demonic conference rooms, your Hell must be ready to accept more lost souls and demon VIPs who will continue to drop into your domain, all requiring your attention in many different ways. Remember, the more souls that arrive, the more demands placed upon your resources, so make sure to manage your workers and continue to expand your empire to impress the boss. And don’t forget, if any of your workers step out of line you have the tools at your disposal to whip them back into shape. Literally.
Features of Hell Architect:
Create the Hell of your dreams: Flex your creative muscles to design, build and furnish 9 infamous levels of Hell in the single player campaign mode, or spend a hellish eternity designing your own chaotic masterpiece from scratch in sandbox mode.
If you build it, they will suffer!: Begin with basic buildings like power stations (yup they need those in Hell too!) and canteens for your hungry workers and expand your empire to include shrines and intricate torture contraptions to increase the level of suffering for your weary residents.
Management is key: Harvesting resources, building an infrastructure and expanding your Hell will be key in your success. A constant stream of new lost souls will provide more hands to use, but will require managing to keep them working.
Crack the whip: Treat the sinners sent to your humble abode to different fun (or not so fun) sources of suffering, be it punishing them for disobedience or just for fun. Your Hell, your choices.
Hell never looked so good: Thestylish 2D art style perfectly blends with the brutal, gorey themes and is topped off with outstanding dark humour.
Guest appearances: Play as Legendary Characters, a motley crew of history’s most despicable sinners who drop into your domain, each possessing special abilities to help build your devilish masterpiece.
Developed by Woodland Games and published by Leonardo Interactive, Hell Architect is out today for PC via Steam and GOG.com
