ASMODEE DIGITAL’S GLOOMHAVEN COMES TO VIDEO GAME CONSOLES IN 2023

The acclaimed tactical RPG inspired by the best-selling board game will be adapted for new platforms by Saber Interactive

PARIS, France & FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.May 19, 2022 – Embracer Group companies Asmodee Digital and Saber Interactive have announced a new partnership to bring the critically acclaimed tactical RPG Gloomhaven to video game consoles in 2023. Originally developed by Flaming Fowl Studios based on Isaac Childres’ award-winning board game, Gloomhaven has sold over 500k units throughout early access and its official launch on PC and Mac last year. The console editions of the game will be published by Asmodee Digital and developed by Saber.

The competition is based on a point system, with points awarded according to the standings in each round from Round 1 (#1) to Round 8 (#8). NACON has confirmed its status as a major mid-publisher and creator of standard-setting accessories

Paris, France,  May 18, 2022 – The latest edition of Bigben Week opened its doors on Monday. This major event for the group is the perfect occasion to present its products and objectives to the media and international partners. NACON, the group’s gaming brand, held a press conference to announce all of its news and to explain how it is changing.

The last time the event was held – in 2019, due to the health crisis – BIGBEN presented its soaring ambitions for the years to come. Bigben Week is an opportunity to highlight the company’s strong growth over the last three years along with the major changes it has undergone.

AN EFFECTIVE STRATEGY
NACON’s March 2020 listing on the stock market raised more than €100 million, reinforcing the company’s ambitions and resources.

Over the course of three years, NACON acquired no fewer than 9 studios. With the latest acquisitions of Midgar Studios and Daedalic Entertainment, a total of 16 studios have now joined the fold. The RIG brand, renowned worldwide for its premium gaming headsets, integrated NACON in March 2020, bringing all of its know-how with it. The strategy has significantly increased NACON’s weight in the video game industry, providing it with several different areas of expertise in games and accessories. This has most notably resulted in an increase in turnover, from €113.1 million in 2019 to €155.9 million today, among other consequences.

TWO EXCLUSIVE ANNOUNCEMENTS
Bigben Week is also the perfect occasion to announce the addition of new titles to NACON’s games catalogue. The studio Spiders revealed GreedFall 2, the new entry in the successful franchise, which has sold more than 2 million units. The other major new game concerns the development studio KT Racing and the next WRC, entitled “WRC Generations”, with a planned October 13 release.

THE MOST AMBITIOUS VIDEO GAME LINEUP EVER

Action-adventure
Some of this year’s most ambitious projects are in the action-adventure genre, including The Lord of the RingsTM: GollumTM. With a planned 2022 release, this epic experience, created by the studio Daedalic, has been revealed at Bigben Week for the first time.

On 19 May, Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong, the story-based RPG from the studio Big Bad Wolf will be released. It combines exploration of a variety of environments, carefully crafted dialogue, complex puzzles and a multi-branching story in which each choice has consequences.

Steelrising, the combat-oriented action RPG from the studio Spiders, has the player take on the role of the central figure in an alternative universe in which Paris trembles under the yoke of a tyrannical King. As Aegis, the player must untangle the webs of intrigue to bring an end to the madness of one man and to ensure the French Revolution reaches a triumphant conclusion. Some of the story elements in the game, scheduled for 8 September, are revealed in a story trailer: what if the French Revolution had failed? And what if King Louis XVI, gone mad, had developed an army of automats capable of stifling the people’s anger?

Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, Creative Director of the studio Rogue Factor, is attending Bigben Week to talk about his new, recently announced project, Hell is Us. The game is pioneering a new genre, with a blend of action and exploration, requiring players to use judgement and curiosity to progress through the story.

Blood Bowl 3 (Cyanide) offers fans of the Warhammer universe and tactical games a perfect cocktail of sport, strategy and heroic fantasy.

Clash: Artifacts of Chaos (ACE Team) is bringing a unique blend of exploration and unarmed combat to NACON’s action-adventure segment, in the mysterious and quirky world of Zenozoik.

Zorro The Chronicles (BKOM) marks the return of the famous vigilante in a game intended for both nostalgic parents and young players taking their first steps in action-adventure gaming. The official video game adaptation of the animated series is scheduled for release on 16 June.
 
Racing
Alongside the development of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown by the KT Racing teams, NACON has announced WRC Generations. The latest entry in the series, scheduled for October 13, includes a wide range of new features, such as the introduction of hybrid cars, several engine mapping configurations and a new league system.
 
Sport 
This year NACON is offering several disciplines, including Session: Skate Sim, a skateboard simulation with innovative gameplay, which takes the player into 90s-era skateboarding. Also on display, the cycling games Tour de France 2022 and Pro Cycling Manager 2022 are offering a glimpse of their gameplay prior to their 9 June release date.
 
Simulation
With Chef Life, NACON’s Simulation cornerstone features a dash of immersion and culinary creativity. The game, which incorporates official elements of the MICHELIN Guide, lets each player design their own dishes while they create and manage the restaurant of their dreams. 
 
NEW ACCESSORIES FOR EVERY PLAYER
With the quality of NACON’s professional controllers acknowledged by a host of players around the world, the company is continuing to expand its ranges with many new additions for every console.

NACON for Xbox®
NACON’s family of official peripherals for Xbox®Series X|S and Xbox®One, launched in 2021, have met with great success in both Europe and North America.

The range is expanding with the addition of one of the year’s star products, the DAIJA Arcade Stick, with the official Xbox® version available at the end of 2022.

Continuing the winning formula of the first game, GreedFall 2 is an RPG that focuses on story and player choice but also includes new gameplay in the form of more tactical combat and revisits the unique universe created by its predecessor.

The story starts three years before the events of the first game and the adventures of De Sardet. This time you play as a native of Teer Fradee, uprooted by force from your island and taken to the continent of Gacane, where the colonists are from. In this old world ravaged by war and scarred by the Malichor plague and the political scheming of the different factions, you must regain your freedom and control of your own destiny. Using diplomacy, cunning or combat, as well as help from allies you make, it’s up to you to end one man’s ambitions of conquest, which could spell the end for the continent and your island.

2K today revealed an in-depth look at Season 7 coming to NBA® 2K22 this Friday, May 20, ahead of the NBA Finals. NBA 2K22’s Season 7: ‘Return of Heroes’ builds on last year’s fan-favourite season to welcome back household names and marks the dawn of a new era of burgeoning superstars like MVP candidate and this year’s scoring champion, Joel Embiid. This season also includes the arrival of a brand new TKO event to The City and the Cancha Del Mar, where you can compete for incredible new rewards, complete courageous quests, and prove that you can be a leader.

NBA 2K22 Season 7 features 76ers star Joel Embiid as the headline athlete for the first time, bringing many exciting new updates to MyCAREER, MyTEAM, and The W Online.* Season 7 also includes 10 new songs created by the winners of the “2K Beats: The Search” contest in partnership with SoundCloud. Major updates include:

  • MyCAREER introduces daring new quests, all-new heroic courts, team-spirited NBA rewards, and more. PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC updates include the choice of an Affiliation mascot reward for reaching Level 30, along with an NBA mascot award for reaching Level 40. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X updates include a random NBA mascot outfit reward for reaching Level 30 and a Jetpack for reaching Level 40, along with a new TKO event, and more. The event rewards include a slew of rewards, consisting of Skill Boosts, Boxing Shorts, Boxing Gloves, and 10,000 VC;
  • MyTEAM includes Playoff Agendas, recreated moments based on big playoff performances, a LVL 40 Invincible Anthony Edwards, and hand-drawn hero cards featuring current players and Legends. Additionally, Murals are back, with Hero Galaxy Opal Zion Williamson as the Level 1 reward and Invincible Joel Embiid as the Challenger Mural’s collection complete reward. Lastly, a new Season Rewind Domination tier will be added to MyTEAM, where players can compete against the MyTEAM-best versions of the current NBA’s rosters for MyTEAM Points, Tokens, Hall of Fame badges, and an Invincible Tim Hardaway for earning all 99 Stars; 
  • The W* features a pair of former college teammates and WNBA legends as Hall of Fame tier rewards: Tamika Catchings and Chamique Holdsclaw. Other rewards include a Takeover Perk Picker, 2K Breakthrough Gear, Extra Badge Point, 4,000 total VC, a Seasonal Clothing Bundle, and a Tattoo;
  • 2K Beats: The Search,”NBA 2K’s annual international contest to discover the next up-and-coming artists, teamed up with SoundCloud this year to select the 20 winners to be added to the NBA 2K22 soundtrack. The free-to-play, team PvP sports game will be available with cross-play on Xbox One, PlayStation® 4, Xbox Series X | S and PlayStation® 5 (backward compatibility), as well as Windows PC through the Ubisoft Store. Roller Champions will also be available on the Nintendo Switch™ system at a later date.

In Roller Champions, players compete in two teams of three to be the first to reach five points by throwing the ball in the goal. But there is more to it: the more laps you make around the elliptical arena, the more points you will get, provided your team maintains ball possession. Speed along the arena walls, use several tackling maneuvers efficiently and work with your teammates to claim victory over your opponents and roll up to glory.

By winning matches and climbing the leaderboards, the doors of increasingly renowned stadiums and leagues will open, all the way up to the Elite Champions’ league. Along their journey, players will have the opportunity to gain fans, discover new maps, compete in time-limited game modes, and fully customize their Champion as they see fit. In addition to the many unlockable items, exclusive cosmetic rewards can be acquired with the Roller Pass each season.

Rollers Champions can be played alone with similarly skilled opponents through the cross-play matchmaking system, or with friends.
