Meta Quest 2 Adventure EOLIA Supports Real-World Conservation on 9 June

Meta Quest 2 Adventure EOLIA Supports Real-World Conservation on 9 June

Award-winning artists and musicians at ROTU Entertainment will donate portion of proceeds

BOSTON — 19 May 2022 — EOLIA, the VR fantasy-adventure follow-up in the award-winning Rhythm of the Universe series, finds the rhythm of change on Meta Quest 2 Thursday, 9 June 2022. Developer ROTU Entertainment, an award-winning collective of artists, musicians, and thought leaders whose games and productions have fostered international unity, fought Amazonian deforestation, and more, will donate a portion of EOLIA’s proceeds to a climate-conscious non-profit selected by the ROTU social media community.

Explore the desert lands of Eolia as Conga Dholak, an adventurer determined to save the land from devastating climate change. Droughts and extreme weather patterns ravage these once-flourishing wilds, threatening to irreversibly alter the landscape. Climb through ruins of antiquity, ride through the remnants of a humming civilization, and solve puzzles grounded in musical theory to bring an ecosystem back from the brink of ruin.

Meta Quest 2’s captivating Hand Tracking technology unlocks an immersive experience unlike any other. Grip the saddle of a Lhargo with intuitive controls designed for Hands First VR and bound across sun-swept sands. Pluck the strings of magical instruments and perform deciphered flute melodies to open new pathways. Pick up items, store them in a satchel, and view them in intimate detail, all with simple, intuitive hand motions. Restore the rhythm of the universe by reaching out to touch the very world itself.

With more involved mechanics and highly detailed environments, EOLIA expands upon its predecessor, IONIA, without losing its accessible heart. ROTU Entertainment invites dedicated gamers, VR newcomers, children, families, students, and educators alike to discover the importance of conservation through the beauty of Eolia’s world—a once-bountiful, vibrant home that, like our own, is worth saving.

“In order for players to feel inspired to reflect on real-world issues, we needed to make sure EOLIA was accessible and evocative,” said Jason Parks, ROTU CEO. “Like our fragile real world, this fantastical one responds and reacts to every choice. And thanks to Meta Quest 2’s best-in-class immersion and ease of use, people of all ages and experience levels can play with this idea and join us on the journey to do right by our planet.”

EOLIA debuts for Meta Quest 2 on 9 June with support for English voice and text, with text localization for additional languages coming post-launch. For more information about ROTU Entertainment, please visit the official website, follow the studio on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, and join fellow adventurers on Discord

Watch What You Eat in Puzzle Platformer Nosher, Serving up Some Treats Now on Kickstarter

Independent developer Insamnohty is excited to announce their first title, Nosher, a 90s-inspired puzzle platformer where becoming your enemy is the only way to explore the morph-tastic world.

Nosher just launched its Kickstarter campaign, which not only offers up some exclusive treats but also a chance to indulge in the tasty gameplay yourself. The playable demo will be available for the entire duration of the Kickstarter campaign on both Steam and itch.io.

Play the demo now

Nosher sees you playing as Noshy, a lovable slime creature who likes nothing more than chowing down on bats, skeletons, and even spiders. Level design in Nosher is inspired by platforming classics like Spyro The Dragon and Crash Bandicoot, each stage offering a labyrinth of mysteries to find and complete.

Navigating the forests and graveyards of Nosher is no simple task. Each stage introduces a new enemy that’s looking to ruin Noshy’s day. Not only do these enemies block Noshy’s path, they also hold the power to let you explore and progress through the stages. Upon eating an enemy you’ll gain the ability to briefly gain their ‘power’. Eat a bat, fly across impossible-to-jump gaps; munch on a skeleton, wield their pickaxe power to smash rocks blocking your way; tuck into a spider and gain the ability to traverse walls and ceilings, shooting web to zip across to those hard to reach ledges.

Combining all these abilities to explore the environments of Nosher is vital to not only finish a level but also uncover all its hidden treats. The combination of the enemy powers also offers the opportunity for levels to be completed in almost any route. Nosher is not a linear puzzle platformer, more a sandbox puzzle platformer.

If taking a cute slime creature for a walk while enjoying a handful of berries isn’t enough for you, then you’ll be pleased to hear Nosher has a competitive side through an integrated high-score system. The system ranks a level completion from bronze to platinum. To achieve the higher ranks you’ll need to find all the berries, uncover all the secrets, not dawdle while taking in the graveyard views and try not to die to a venomous spider.

Nosher’s Kickstarter campaign is live now and will run until Monday 16th June. The playable demo will be available throughout the campaign. The developer, Insamnohty, regularly streams the developing process of Nosher on Twitch, working with the community to build Nosher the perfect treat-tastic playground to explore when the 1.0 launch comes around.

World of Warships Announce Second Year of Longest Night of Museums, Supporting Global Network of Naval Museums and Charity Organisations

World of Warships Announce Second Year of Longest Night of Museums, Supporting Global Network of Naval Museums and Charity Organisations

The event which provided museums a platform of over 1.4 million viewers during global lockdown returns for a second year

offering the opportunity for an all-expenses-paid trip to experience one of these iconic sites firsthand

18th May 2022 — World of Warships has released the details of its Longest Night of Museums initiative, designed to publicise, and support naval museums across the world. Starting from 18th May, World of Warships will be publishing one museum showcase article per week, giving an insight into the world’s biggest sites of naval history. This will include interviews with curators, and an insight into these heritage sites for those unable to travel to them across the world.

World of Warships has hidden characters in their articles to encourage readers to compose a special bonus code. The first person to crack the code will win a five day, all-expenses-paid trip for two people to one of the published naval museums.

Participating naval museums include four museums in the US: the USS Texas, USS Iowa, Battleship Missouri and USS Bowfin, the Maritiman in Sweden, HMAS Belfast in Ireland, and IWM Duxford in the UK.

These articles will also feature embedded video footage of last year’s event, which saw over 1.4 million people attend a virtual tour on Twitch and YouTube, of over 15 naval museums across the world.

With the continuation of the COVID-19 pandemic, museums have been hit incredibly hard over the past two years. Beyond the financial impact, many lack their own digital platforms to share their exhibits and make their desired impact on the world remotely. This is why Wargaming, the developer of the world’s most historically accurate, naval battle video game, World of Warships, continues to support these museums and bring them in front of a wider audience.

The event has been publicly celebrated by the World of Warships community, which stands at over 50 million players, and museums from last year’s event lauded the impact it has had on their organisations:

“Joining in the international Longest Night of Museums was a great experience for us. We got to communicate directly with people from all over the world, many who had probably never heard of us before,” said Johannes Olsson, Museum Educator, Maritiman, Göteborg, Sweden. “At the same time, we got interesting glimpses of some of our sister museums all over the world, many of whom we would dearly like the opportunity to visit in person. We look very much forward to joining the event this year as well.”

The Longest Night of Museums 2022 can be followed via the World of Warships website https://worldofwarships.asia/
