Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle Announced, Western Release Planned

About a year ago Attack on Titan 2‘s video game was released in the West and now Koei Tecmo has announced plans to bring an enhanced version, Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle to the West as well. The game will be released on July 5th in the West for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC but if you happen to already own the original game then you can upgrade through a “Final Battle Upgrade Pack” that will be released as paid DLC though no price for this upgrade was announced.

This new enhanced game will follow the story through season 3 of the Attack on Titan anime while highlighting both key moments as well as other conflicts that were never shown before. Final Battle’s Story mode plays through selected characters’ points of view with major heroes active in Season 3 – now playable for the first time – boosting the total number of playable characters to over 40. In addition to the content covering all three seasons of the popular anime series, developers will also include original episodes to create a more fulfilling experience.

Two new gameplay styles will also be added into the game and they are an anti-personnel combat feature using anti-personnel omni directional mobility gear and an all-new wall reclamation mode focused on recovering outside territories. Here, players will have an ability to choose a leader of their squad, pick out the members they want to include – even members who were never together in the original work, and set out to reclaim the lands from the Titans. Thunder Spears will also be equipped for battle for the first time, allowing the take down of the Armored Titan when a normal blade just won’t cut it.
