Blizzard has been adjusting World of Warcraft’s monetization strategy over the years to reflect the fact that expecting players to buy the base game and multiple expansion just to start playing is a great way to chase off potential new players. With the launch of the World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth pre-patch, Blizzard revealed their new pricing structure moving forward. The monthly subscription will remain the game, but the subscription now includes access to the base game and all expansions except for Battle for Azeroth.
The World of Warcraft: Complete Collection bundle has been changed to reflect Blizzard’s new pricing structure. The bundle now contains Battle for Azeroth, a level 110 character boost, and 30 days game time to unlock access to the base game and all previous expansions.
World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth is scheduled to launch on August 14th for PC. Launch times vary by region and are available here.
