Most of the news involving Dead Island 2 lately has been pretty bad, what with the game being pushed back to sometime in 2016 after not showing anything involving the title for seven months, and it doesn’t seem to be getting any better. Deep Silver has announced that they have let go of Dead Island 2‘s developer Yager, a company previously known for their work on Spec-Ops: The Line.

Currently it is unknown what developer will be stepping in to work on what is left of Dead Island 2 but in a statement Deep Silver did release the following statement:

“With Dead Island 2, Deep Silver has always been dedicated to delivering the sequel that Dead Island fans deserve. After careful consideration, today we announce the decision to part ways with development partner YAGER. We will continue working towards bringing our vision of Dead Island 2 to life, and we will share further information at a later stage.”
