Xbox Fitness officially revealed for the Xbox One

While the original Kinect may have had its fair share of problems with some games, it usually worked well for the many exercise games that were released. As such, it should come as no surprise that Microsoft has now announced a new app for the Xbox One which will focus entirely around giving Xbox One owners a chance to work out.

This app will be called Xbox Fitness and it is a subscription based service that will take advantage of the new Kinect’s new capabilities such as being able to tell a person’s heart rate and weight placement. There will be numerous workouts available for use on the app, such as the commonly talked about P90X system and Insanity workouts as well as celebrity trainers Jillian Michaels and Tony Horton. The app will be free with Xbox Live Gold until December 2014 and will likely cost a nominal fee after that point in time.
