The Nintendo Wii is a console sitting on its last legs. With the Wii U on the horizon Nintendo wanted to give the Wii its last hurrah. That final swan song comes in the form of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

Skyward Sword is not only the best Wii game of 2011, but also one of the best titles to ever hit the console itself. With its revolutionary control system that perfectly uses the Wii’s control system like no other game has. It perfectly utilising each and every function available to it, in a way that is not only robust but feels more natural than any other game to hit the console to date.

That isn’t the end of the perfection that is Skyward Sword, with its art style that takes the best bits of past Zelda titles such as Windwaker and Twilight Princess, the title is without a doubt the most visually impressive Zelda title to date as well as one of the most stunning aesthetic appearances to hit the little white box.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is the best Wii game of the year and the ultimate farewell title for the console in its final days. It will forever stand as the highest point of achievement for Nintendo’s little white console that took the world by storm.
