First look at the 007 First Light Limited Edition DualSense Wireless Controller – inspired by James Bond’s iconic codename and weapon

Just as every secret agent carries their signature weapon, every player has a signature controller. Today, PlayStation Australia is excited to share a first look at the new DualSense wireless controller – 007 First Light Limited Edition.

Featuring a golden sheen and radiant barrel design, the controller frames James Bond’s iconic codename and weapon on the DualSense wireless controller touchpad.

To learn more about the controller’s design and inspiration, watch the video and head to the PlayStation blog.

With this 007 First Light controller, we saw an opportunity to welcome James Bond back to gaming after more than 13 years in a way that felt instantly iconic. The golden finish pays tribute to the elegance, legacy, and timeless style of the franchise, while the barrel-inspired detailing reflects the themes of the game and how it feels to play it, as well as being a nod to one of pop culture’s most recognisable visual signatures. Every element of the DualSense design was crafted as a celebration of Bond’s return, blending legacy and modernity to create a controller that feels unmistakably 007 from the moment you see it.” -Rasmus Poulsen, Franchise Art Director on 007 First Light

The DualSense Wireless Controller – 007 First Light Limited Edition will be available at select retailers in limited quantities for $134.95 AUD RRP. Pre-orders begin on Friday, 17 April at 10 am local time.

The new controller launches starting on Wednesday, 27 May, alongside 007 First Light for PS5, where players take on the role of a young Bond at the very beginning of his journey in this standalone, re-imagined origin story for video games, navigating a world of global intrigue and earning his codename.

The DualSense wireless controller’s adaptive triggers deliver precise responsiveness during gunfights, while haptic feedback places you in the middle of the action during explosive set pieces from the game. Learn more about 007 First Light and check out the latest trailer here.

Morbid Metal Now Available in Early Access on Steam

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – April 9, 2026 – Today, Ubisoft and Screen Juice announced that Morbid Metal, a hack-and-slash roguelite with unique shapeshifting abilities and infinite replayability, is now available in early access on Steam for AU$26.95. To celebrate the week of launch, a 25% discount lets players jump into the game for AU$20.21.

Developed by Screen Juice, Morbid Metal is set within a post-apocalyptic simulation. Players progress through stunning, semi-procedurally generated levels, fighting through hordes of enemies and powerful bosses in various environmental biomes, ranging from desolate wastelands of the far future to the overgrown ruins of mankind.

Players can switch seamlessly between three powerful characters: Flux, Ekku, and Vekta, at any point during the game. Each character has a distinct fighting style and signature skills that can be chained together, giving players the creativity to discover new stylish and powerful combos. Players can acquire permanent upgrades to make their next run more successful, choose mid‑run upgrades, and take on high‑risk options like Devil’s Bargains or Operator’s Trials for powerful rewards.

“What began as a prototype for a university application in 2015 has grown into what Morbid Metal is today, shaped and fueled by the passion of the gaming community who believed in it early on.” said Felix Schade, Creator and Game Director of Morbid Metal at Screen Juice. “The game has grown far beyond my original vision thanks to the dedicated team at Screen Juice, and we can’t wait for players to experience it – and remember to push those combos to SSS!”

At early access launch, Morbid Metal features:

  • 10+ hours to finish the main path, with infinite replayability
  • Three unique playable characters with distinct playstyles:
  • Flux, great for high single-target precision
  • Ekku, who can cause heavy area devastation
  • Vekta, bringing ranged battlefield control
  • Two biomes:
  • Sublime Garden, which most resembles what the Simulation was pretending to be: a beautiful utopian retreat for the privileged. A millennium of neglect has eroded the landscape; human structures were changed to create the cruel gauntlet of fights to the death or to succession.
  • Steel Sanctuary, a fractured cityscape of towering steel and rusted ambition. Massive pipelines coil like serpent through neon-lit buildings, where enemies stalk the shadows and every corner hums with lethal tension.
  • Ten enemy archetypes with Elite variants and two final enemy bosses:
  • Saru, an apex predator of metal and rage who embodies the brutality and precision of Morbid Metal’s combat philosophy.
  • Prophet, the guard of the Steel Sanctuary.
  • Meta-Progression using starting modifiers, core upgrades, and persistent upgrades
  • A training room
  • Available in English, Brazilian Portuguese, German, Spanish, and Simplified Chinese
  • Xbox & PlayStation controller support
  • Regular content updates throughout early access
  • And much more!

Challenge the Gods, Reclaim Your Love: SoulQuest to Arrive on Steam on May 1, 2026

Face the goddess of death in a spectacular side-scrolling hack-and-slash!

[Argentina] – April 8th, 2026 – SoulBlade Studio and indie.io are proud to announce that  the side-scrolling, hack-and-slash spectacular, SoulQuest, will arrive on Steam on May 1, 2026! As Alys, a freshly widowed Celtic warrior who refuses to accept the judgment of the gods, players will experience a story of loss and vengeance combined with stunning, fast-paced gameplay, slashing their way through hordes of enemies using a freeform, combo-based combat system that’s as intuitive as it is gorgeous to behold!

Morrigan, the goddess of death, has taken away Alys’ husband – but instead of meekly accepting their decision, she takes up her sword in defiance. Joined by the druid Abanus, the two embark on an epic journey to confront the Celtic pantheon, defy the fates, and challenge death itself to save her husband’s soul from oblivion.

SoulQuest draws on the rich legacy of Celtic folklore and Arthurian myths, combining them with a crisp retro aesthetic and medieval-inspired soundtrack for an unforgettable experience across iconic areas of the British Isles. Thanks to frame-perfect animations and responsive controls, players add their own beauty to the landscape, cutting through enemies using a flurry of moves that are as beautiful as they are effective at dispatching them.

This beauty is made possible by the freeform combat system at the heart of the game. It allows players to combine light and heavy attacks into dozens of combos, smoothly flowing from one animation to another – and beyond melee lie magical abilities and ultimates, allowing each player to define their own play style and defeat the forces of fate as they see fit.

The intuitive system is easy to pick up, but leaves plenty of room for growth and mastery: Enemies come in relentless waves and effective mixing of melee, magic, and ultimate powers can turn a chaotic bloodbath into a visual feast, as Alys cleaves through the hordes with surprising grave – with player efforts recognized on a combat scale from F to the coveted SSS identifying the truly exceptional among players.

Ready to take up the blade and throw down the gauntlet to Morrigan, the goddess of death? SoulQuest will release on Steam on May 1, 2026.

The Occultist is Out Now, Inviting Players into the Shadows of Godstone

Psychological horror unfolds in a world shaped by memory, ritual, and unease

Valladolid, Spain / Hamburg, Germany – April 8, 2026 – The Occultist is out now on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Developed by DALOAR and published by Daedalic Entertainment, the first-person psychological horror game draws players to Godstone, a remote island where old rituals, buried memories, and unsettling truths still cling to the walls.

The Occultist builds dread through atmosphere, discovery, and the slow weight of what lies beneath the surface. Godstone is more than a backdrop. Its ruined paths, forgotten corners, and lingering echoes shape a world that feels unnerving, troubled, and alive with the past. As the story unfolds, exploration and narrative remain tightly bound together.

At the center of the experience is the pendulum, an occult tool that helps reveal hidden traces and guide the way through places marked by earlier lives and dark events. The game’s sense of unease is further deepened by rich audio design and an original score recorded with the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra.

Alan Rebels, the game’s protagonist, is voiced in English by Doug Cockle, best known as Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher game series. His performance gives the journey a steady human presence as Godstone grows more disquieting with every step.
