Game Reveal: Merge Materials to Make Mechanimals in Legacy Code, Physics Sim Coming to PC Next Year

0

TOKYO — Sept. 16, 2026 — Legacy Code, the quirky physics simulation game developed by Room 127 and published by Kodansha Game Creators’ Lab, fashions fantastical fighters on PC via Steam in 2027. Go hands-on with the bizarre new creature creator at Tokyo Game Show this weekend, where it was selected as a finalist at “Sense of Wonder Night 2026.”

Manufacture enigmatic machinations called “Mechanimals” by combining all kinds of objects, and set them loose upon the world to do battle…no, really, anything can be combined!Frankenstein together all kinds of parts like heads, arms, and legs with motors, doll heads, character merchandise, electric fans, televisions, 3D puzzles, dentures, chains, cacti…the list goes on!

Powered by the proprietary “Marionette Engine,” all Mechanimals come to life no matter their design or anatomy. Each powered-up part comes with its own quirks, and may cause Mechanicals to move in unpredictable ways, surprising even Legacy Code’s creators! Marvel at how they manage to amble across the ground and navigate terrain hazards.

Hodgepodge together a battle-ready Mechanimal, then face off against abnormal adversaries, collecting parts from fallen foes after every skirmish for future upgrades. Attach newer, more powerful parts, and head back into the fray in search of greater challenges.

Recognized for its originality, Legacy Code has been selected as one of eight finalists in this year’s Sense of Wonder Night at Tokyo Game Show, handpicked amongst more than 1,500 competing submissions. Finalists are chosen based on their ideas that evoke a sense of wonder and change, and Legacy Code earned its place through its unique concept of creating unpredictable creatures created from scraps.

“We tried our best to create Mechanimals that would break the physics engine, but somehow, every combination of parts led to a living creature,” said Yasuta, Programmer at Room127. “Creativity truly knows no bounds in Legacy Code, and we invite all Tokyo Game Show attendees to try their hand at creating bizarre creatures.”

Legacy Code is planned for release on PC via Steam in 2027 with language support in English, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese. To stay up-to-date with the latest information, follow developer Room 127 on X/Twitter, and wishlist the game on Steam.

First Fresh Start Server ZERO Eases Growth and Competition Barriers, While Existing Servers Receive “Legendary Festival” Rewards

LOS ANGELES – SEPTEMBER 16, 2026 – Netmarble, a leading developer and publisher of high-quality games, has launched a major update for its dark fantasy MMORPG RAVEN2, opening the game’s first fresh start server “ZERO,” alongside “Legendary Festival” for existing servers.

ZERO opened on September 15 (UTC +0) as a specialized server with a different ruleset from existing servers. Built for new and returning players, ZERO eases growth burdens, monetization pressure, PK stress, and competition barriers through increased equipment drop rates and EXP gains, adjusted combat balance, and a simplified progression structure that excludes Mythic-grade Summons and Awakenings. A key feature is Farming Crystals that allows players to obtain the core in-game currency Crystals through hunting and gameplay.

Certain fields are Peace Zones where PK is disabled, while field bosses in these zones allow broader participation, guild crafting materials, and high-grade equipment crafting. ZERO currently lets players experience Abyss 1F and the Sinerim region, with future content to follow sequentially.

ZERO-exclusive events offer 550 Summon Scrolls, Legendary Holy Garment and Familiar, weekly chances to obtain Heroic Holy Garment or Familiar during the first month after launch, and level milestone chests. The ZERO Special Corps Growth Event provides Heroic equipment and skill books, while the [ZERO] Special Starter Package, containing Heroic Holy Garment Summon Scroll, Heroic Familiar Summon Scroll and more, is available to all players who login to the game.

For existing servers, “Legendary Festival” offers Legendary Holy Garment and Familiar, 330 Summon Scrolls, Abyss-related benefits, and the upgraded Elite Special Corps Growth Event with high-grade equipment and more. Running through October 7, the event dungeon “Full Moon Forest” will be available across both existing servers and ZERO, offering generous rewards to participants.

An official sequel to Raven (EvilBane: The Iron King), RAVEN2 is a blockbuster MMORPG set in a dark fantasy realm reimagined with unrivaled graphics. As a member of the Special Corps, players will embark on a journey to investigate dangerous and bizarre incidents under royal order, and engage in a large-scale, cruel war.

BLACKWOOD: ONE PURCHASE, THREE ACTS – ACT 1 OUT NOW ON STEAM

0

Buy BLACKWOOD now and receive Acts 2 and 3 as free updates, with the complete three-act story planned to arrive by September 2027

September 16, 2026. Indie developer AttritoM7 Productions and publisher IZilla Games today announce that BLACKWOOD: Act 1 is out now on Steam, beginning a dark, cinematic single-player story set in 2012 New York, where by day players run a seemingly ordinary DVD store and by night step into the role of a ruthless assassin.

BLACKWOOD follows Anton, whose seemingly mundane day job provides a stark contrast to the violent world he inhabits after dark. Combining cinematic storytelling with grounded combat, brutal takedowns, and responsive gunplay, BLACKWOOD puts players in control of a character living a dangerous double life, where every encounter can demand careful preparation, and every bullet counts.

Act 1 is just the beginning. BLACKWOOD is designed as a complete three-act experience, with Acts 2 and 3 included with the initial purchase and arriving as free updates to existing owners. Act 2 is planned for March 2027, with Act 3 following in September 2027.

Watch the BLACKWOOD: Act 1 launch trailer below.

ONE PURCHASE. THREE ACTS.

BLACKWOOD launches at $24.99USD / €24.99EUR / £23.49GBP, with the base price increasing as the game expands:

  • Act 1 – September 16, 2026: $24.99/€24.99/£23.49
  • Act 2 – March 2027: $29.99/€24.99/£23.49
  • Act 3 – September 2027: $34.99/€34.99/£33.49

The proposition is simple: buy BLACKWOOD once and receive all three acts. There is no need to purchase Act 2 or Act 3 separately. Anyone who purchases BLACKWOOD during Act 1 will receive the remaining acts as free updates to their existing copy.

SUPPORT THE BLACKWOOD PROJECT

For players who want to support the development of BLACKWOOD, a Supporter Edition will also be available for $5.00 / €5.00 / £4.49.

The Supporter Edition includes:

  • An exclusive cosmetic for Anton
  • An exclusive handgun
  • $5,000 Dirty Cash
  • $500 Clean Cash

The Supporter Edition is an optional upgrade for players who want to show their support while picking up some exclusive in-game items and additional cash.

THE STORY STARTS HERE

Act 1 delivers 6+ hours of gameplay, combining four main story missions with multiple side missions and additional content. Players who spend more time with the store management and sim elements of BLACKWOOD can expect a longer experience than the prescribed 6 hours.

BLACKWOOD is a focused, linear single-player experience rather than an open-world game, with its story driven by carefully designed encounters, cinematic presentation and a growing sense of danger.

The planned structure is:

  • Act 1: 4 main missions, plus side missions and additional content
  • Act 2: 4 main missions, plus side missions and additional content
  • Act 3: 5 main missions, plus side missions and additional content

The mission counts refer to the main story missions only. Each act contains additional content beyond the main storyline, while Act 3 features an additional main mission to accommodate an alternate ending.

MORE TO COME

The three major acts form the backbone of BLACKWOOD‘s story, but development will continue between their releases.

Updates can introduce new side missions, collectibles, achievements, takedowns, weapons, enemy variations and other additional content, where appropriate. Patches will also address bugs, technical issues and other improvements as development continues.

THE ROAD AHEAD

With Act 1 available now, AttritoM7 Productions continues development on the remaining chapters of BLACKWOOD.

Act 2 is planned for March 2027, followed by Act 3 in September 2027, completing the three-act story. These dates represent the team’s current development targets, with further details on each upcoming act to be revealed as development progresses.

For players joining BLACKWOOD today, the journey begins with Act 1, but their purchase already includes everything still to come.

KEY FEATURES

  • One Purchase, Three Acts – Buy BLACKWOOD once and receive Acts 2 and 3 as free updates.
  • 6+ Hours in Act 1 – Four main story missions alongside side missions and additional content.
  • A Double Life – Experience Anton’s life as a seemingly ordinary DVD store owner by day and ruthless assassin by night.
  • Tactical Combat – Manage limited ammunition, realistic weapon behaviour and dangerous encounters where every decision matters.
  • A Focused Story – A cinematic, linear single-player experience unfolding across three connected acts.
  • More to Come – Future acts and updates will expand BLACKWOOD with new story content, missions, collectibles, weapons, enemy variations and more.

BLACKWOOD: Act 1 is out now on Steam with Acts 2 and 3 launching in 2027.

Roman Sands RE:Build is a surreal, pastel-toned adventure told through two stories set across a stranded luxury resort and a decaying zoological research station. Their only company is a voice on the radio, performed by content creator and streamer STPeach. Across both settings, Roman Sands RE:Build blends adventure, visual novel, puzzle-solving, and horror, as the line between the resort and the research station begins to blur.

Explore a heartfelt world of emotions, puzzles and evolving abilities in Studio BBB’s award-winning adventure

Seoul, South Korea – September 16th, 2026 – Independent developer Studio BBB has today launched its heartfelt puzzle-adventure platformer MONOWAVE on PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch for £7.39/$9.99/8.99€, with a limited-time launch 10% launch discount.  Combining atmospheric exploration, thoughtful platforming and emotion-driven puzzles, MONOWAVE follows Mono, a newborn Guardian tasked with restoring balance to a mysterious world by reuniting four scattered Emotions: Anxiety, Anger, Sorrow and Happiness.

MONOWAVE sees Mono reunite the scattered Emotions one by one, each changing how they navigate and interact with the world. Anxiety lets Mono sense traps, Anger enables wall-jumps, Sorrow lets them melt through narrow gaps, and Happiness increases their jump height. As the adventure progresses, these abilities evolve further, giving Mono new ways to explore and overcome the challenges they encounter.

Mono’s abilities extend beyond movement, with the game’s 18 spirits each reacting differently to their current Emotion. By singing to nearby spirits, players can experiment with Anxiety, Anger, Sorrow and Happiness to discover 72 possible interactions that can affect puzzles and traversal. The four major boss encounters are similarly shaped by their ruling Emotion, putting players’ understanding of each Emotion to the test.

Beyond the main adventure, MONOWAVE features eight hidden stages, with two secret stages in each of its four main regions, alongside dedicated Codices covering spirits, environments, worlds and the four Emotion Spirits. Together, these optional discoveries offer plenty of opportunities to uncover more of MONOWAVE’s world and the emotions that shape it.

“We wanted players to experience emotions and empathy through play,” said Gwonyeong Lim, CEO of Studio BBB. “In MONOWAVE, paying attention to how a spirit feels can help you find a way forward. We hope players enjoy discovering those connections, whether they’re playing on their own or sharing the adventure with someone else.”

Overview

For the longest time as a child one of the easiest ways to waste some time was with a “Where’s Waldo?” book before the internet became a thing. Spending time searching through a ridiculous scene trying to find the lone striped sweater-wearing man and a few other objects that would usually be highlighted were a delight for the young mind. Now take that concept, add a sniper rifle into the mix, and you have Sniper Dan, a child-friendly game about hunting down objects and problems spread across stages just as chaotic as the classic books. The question is, is this child-friendly take on a sniping game worth it?

Story

As far as a storyline goes, Sniper Dan really doesn’t have one. He’s a man named Dan who has a business and a license from the mayor of the town to freely snipe away any problems or tasks that the people might need help with across six different locations throughout town. Dan makes it a point that he is strictly against harming animals or people, though doing so only results in some minor money loss and a knock against their level score. Some characters do re-appear across multiple stages and each stage, except for the park, spans across three days and can have various events develop from earlier missions, such as needing to chop down a bean stalk on the third day that players helped grow the first day.

Gameplay

The first stage, Perky Park, serves as a tutorial of sorts that helps ease players into what they can expect with Sniper Dan as it is a smaller level and features a wide-range of missions. These missions are all lined up on the right hand side of the screen and have little hints about what the player must do. Sometimes they are fairly straightforward such as asking someone to help push them on the swingset to get rid of all the leaf piles while others are more vague like taking a selfie or blowing bubbles. Players can use “hint tickets” to unveil the location of where the characters are on the map but these are limited and cost a reputation point to replenish.

Regardless of the stage, Dan will always be perched up on his shooting tower, occasionally with a plushie awarded for perfecting a stage or gun key-chain which oddly dangles from the top of the screen rather than the rifle. Here players will aim down the sight and can initially zoom in as far as 32x and up to 64x with an upgrade and search for whatever they might need to target for any given mission. These can range from multi-shot missions such as helping to clean a chimney clogged with soot to single shots to help light a match. Every mission completed will reward players with money and it is possible to fail a mission by missing a shot and shooting the person involving it, especially if it happens to be a mission where a character is holding the item to their body, making the expensive 64x upgrade all the more worthwhile.

While there is no time limit per day or level, there is a “Par time” of usually 15 minutes a stage and as long as players finish every task within that time limit they’ll gain a higher rank and extra reputation at the end of the day. In fact, reputation is based entirely off of time, if hints were used, completed missions, and failed missions, ranging from B, A, to a perfect S with one, two, or three reputation points matching the grade. It is also fun to note that there are little unlockables as well that players can eventually display later on such as magnets for achieving A ranks in levels and even plushies for completing a level entirely.

Alongside the standard missions players will be assigned in a level they will also occasionally get “answerphone” missions that are urgent and must be completed ASAP or risk failure, though these are generally pointed out with big arrows so players at least know what they are looking at, but not what they need to shoot to solve the problem. Upon completing a second day players will also unlock a “bonus” game that is basically a shooting gallery arcade game with a prize should players manage to hit every target in the time limit. Finally on the third day players will find themselves challenging a “boss” style mission and these range from either being a bit simple to being downright difficult. Unfortunately these boss missions also count as a job and only can be done upon completing every job on Day 3, so failing the final mission results in an automatic B no matter what which is rather disappointing.

That being said, the biggest part of Sniper Dan is the replayability element. While the Jobs remain the same every day in every one of the six locations, the actual positioning of most of the jobs changes. This means while players might need to help milk a cow near the barn the first time, it might be entirely on the other side of the map tucked next to a house next time. It is also worth noting that every map features ten fireworks, ten banana peels, a “Waldo” knock-off, and oddly enough a jiāngshī of all things, to shoot in every level. Though players will simply need to  knock the hat off of the Waldo and talisman off of the jiāngshī’s forehead to make it flee to complete them.

As players gain money and reputation they can unlock additional stages at the cost of reputation or head to the market where they can buy various cosmetics such as different costumes for Dan to wear, gun upgrades such as increased zoom, reload, clip size, and bolt speed, a gachapon machine, a fridge to place magnets on rewarded from A ranks and to store achievement items, as well as office decorations that will boost the overall money earning rate slightly. For example, players can have their office decorated like a castle with a Little Shop of Horrors Audrey II sitting on their desk while dressed as a pirate should they feel like it. Reputation can also be used to purchase mini-games that can be played in the office, again with shooting them, such as table tennis, air hockey, and bowling. Players can also unlock extra game modes for stages such as time attack and ammo hunt to challenge themselves and give the game even further replayability.

Audio & Visuals

Sniper Dan is very colorful and bright and it helps make every stage look completely ridiculous at the same time. The stages are decently varied and there are plenty of things that players can shoot and break outside of Job targets, some of which even trigger responses from the people out in the level, like blowing the food out of a guy’s hand and having him curse at the player. Stage designs are quite complex and with the amount of wild animals doing zany looking things mixed in with people doing just as ridiculous things players will have a lot to see in every stage, with there even being a camera players can buy to swap to and take photos of.

The game features no voice work of any kind but does feature a decent amount of options to customize the way the player’s gun sounds when it shoots and strikes something, including joke sound effects for kids. The soundtrack consists of mostly generic background music but works well enough for a game such as this as it doesn’t distract from seeking out the items required for Jobs.

Overall

Crafting a hidden-object game around a sniper rifle of all things is certainly a unique idea and one that works out quite well for Sniper Dan. It’s a fun and colorful game with plenty of ways to replay and aim for a higher score or perfect result. It does have a few issues such as an eventual lack of varied content and some poorly designed clues or boss jobs that feel overly punishing for no reason, this is a great type of game that is fun for the whole family and at a fairly cheap price at that.
