Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy Reveals Voice Talent for Several Companions in New Trailer

Owlcat shares the actors bringing Haymar, Epione, and others to life — with more to be announced soon

Nicosia, Cyprus (August 27th, 2026) — RPG powerhouse Owlcat Games has unveiled the first batch of talent voicing companions in the upcoming turn-based RPG Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy in a new trailer. The Imperium is brutal and unforgiving, and a talented cast was needed to fully realize a world where true justice is non-existent. The team at Owlcat delivers with the roster of Dark Heresy, welcoming Aaron Sinn as Haymar Devos, Jonathan Cox as Cogg, Brittany Chanel as Epione Spes, Stephen Spencer as Saro, Rhiannon Moushall as Ra’akhti, Chris Sharpes as Laarthyr Cairnareth, and Ian Russell as Servo-Ossuarium.

The introductory reveal for the cast of Dark Heresy announces a number of accomplished actors, both Owlcat veterans and newcomers, lending their talents to the upcoming CRPG: Emmy-nominated actor Aaron Sinn joins as Haymar Devos, native of the Imperium’s most infamous Death World Catachan and a former member of the Astra Militarum’s “Catachan Devils.” Notable for his roles in Sunny Side Down and Mouse: P.I. for Hire, Aaron brings over 15 years of experience to the world of Dark Heresy.

Jonathan Cox, known for his work on the previous Owlcat title Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, voices Cogg. Jonathan’s portrayal of Cogg, an Ogryn with enhanced intelligence and fierce loyalty to the Imperium, showcases the character’s dogged determination.

Brittany Chanel (Psychology of Murder) brings her skills as Epione Spes, Officio Medicae who uses her cold, analytical mind to hunt down an elusive disease that has struck the sector capital of Scintilla.

Saro, the pyromantic psyker, is voiced by the talented Stephen Spencer, known for his work in titles like Lords of the Fallen. Though treated as an outcast by all other members of the Imperium, Saro carries his burden with his head held high and his gaze forever fixed upon the Exalted One.

Rhiannon Moushall, a fellow Owlcat veteran from her work in Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, returns to the Warhammer universe as Ra’akhti, a Kroot scout. Declared an “Inedible” for transgressions against her tribe’s traditions, Ra’akhti is saved from a life of exile through a chance encounter with the player character, joining the acolyte’s retinue.

Chris Sharpes is another voice actor returning from his previous work on Rogue Trader as Pascal Haneumann, this time voicing Laarthyr Cairnareth, the Aeldari corsair. A Way Seeker and being of near unimaginable psychic power, Laarthyr’s true goals are steeped in mystery.

The final actor revealed in this first round is none other than Ian Russell, another fellow Owlcat veteran also known for his role as Rogue Trader’s probably most popular companion, Abelard Vesarian. This time Ian plays Servo-Ossuarium, the collection of servo skulls assigned to the player by The Inquisition to aid them in their task of rooting out heresy.

The initial Dark Heresy cast announcement already touts a stacked roster of talent, but the team at Owlcat still have more reveals planned. Be sure to keep an eye out to see who else was brought in to help bring the world of Dark Heresy to life.

Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy will launch on Windows PC via Steam, GOG, and Epic Games Store, and on consoles via PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

But with Lumen under siege and the Gods facing imminent defeat at the hands of the Army of Darkness, you are forced to embrace a shadowy new form to survive the chaos of both light and dark realms.

While your angelic side favors a slower, disciplined approach, your demon form is highly agile, aggressive, and bristling with dark powers. Mastering the shift between both forms is key to survival, and only by balancing order and chaos can you hope to overcome formidable enemies, deadly obstacles, and challenging puzzles along your path.

RAGDOLL SANDBOX GAME ‘MELON SANDBOX’ CELEBRATES FIVE YEARS OF DREAMING BIG WITH EXCLUSIVE CINEMATIC TRAILER

Half a decade in, this sandbox is just getting started.

LIMASSOL, CYPRUS, 27 August 2026 | Mobile publisher PlayDucky is thrilled to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Melon Sandbox, their hit ragdoll physics title. From a mobile ragdoll simulator to a massive, creator-driven ecosystem with over 150 million downloads globally, this anniversary marks half a decade of continuous updates that encourage the community to experiment, play, and dream big.

Pure Sandbox Chaos

Melon Sandbox began as an experience designed for pure creative freedom and interactive destruction. On this foundation, the development team has been able to build bigger. Now, Melon Sandbox features over a dozen maps, including the moon, acid pits, and lava pits. The roster of beloved characters–known in-game as Livings–expands beyond the original Melon to include robots, skeletons, and a variety of inspired sprites. The catalog of interactable items has grown, as well, and includes an array of weapons, mechanical devices, and programmable chips to fully play out any chaotic scenario.

Sharing Is Caring

The game’s Workshop debuted in 2023, adding expanded mod-sharing tools, in-game asset browsing, and custom item creation tools to encourage players to think outside the box and share their content with the world.

Players can monetize this content within the Workshop through User-Generated Content (UGC) integrations. In 2025 alone, players collectively earned over $1M USD for their original content. The platform continues to host over 55,000 creators and more than 92,000 original works, making Melon Sandbox one of the most significant UGC cash-out systems in mobile gaming.

More and More Ways to Play

Melon Sandbox is continuing to grow into 2026 and beyond. In addition to new maps, new items, and community events, this year introduced a powerful new tool to empower players to do more: the Lua Chip. Bridging the gap between visual logic and text-based game development, the Lua Chip allows creators to write and inject custom Lua scripts directly into their contraptions. Players now have full programmatic control over their creations, and PlayDucky is excited to see what they do with these mechanics as Melon Sandbox continues to grow.

What The Future Holds…

Melon Sandbox started as a simple place for fun physics experiments and has grown into a full game creation environment and launchpad for future game developers. PlayDucky’s mission to give players open-ended creative tools will continue beyond this fifth birthday into many more years of celebrating creativity, encouraging collaboration, and dreaming big.

About Melon Sandbox

Melon Sandbox is a thrilling sandbox game where players unleash creativity through brutal experiments with realistic ragdoll physics. Originally launched in 2022, the game encourages experimentation and creativity among its player base. Users can test unique interactions between objects–such as vehicles, weapons, explosives, and tools–to create chaos in an open world. A variety of maps are available to choose from–including cities, acid pits, lava, and underwater environments–each with unique physics and different items to choose from. In addition, Melon Sandbox’s Editor allows users to create their own gameplay experiences to share with fellow players. These creations may be uploaded and purchased via the in-game storefront.

Gameplay Features:

  • Experiment With Physics: Throw, smash, and test unique interactions between objects!
  • Massive Arsenal: Use firearms, melee weapons, explosives, and vehicles to tear through ragdolls!
  • Create Chaos: Stab, crush, burn, or vaporize with custom devices!
  • Control Your World: Use the Lua Chip to modify objects with code and dynamically alter your game!
  • Open-World Sandbox: Explore diverse maps and build your own playground of destruction!

Melon Sandbox is free to download. The latest update, including the Lua Chip, is available now on iOS, Android, and browser. Players can join the game’s official Discord to discuss the game, share modded content, and receive tips for their UGC experiences.

PlayDucky will be attending Gamescom (Aug 26 –Aug 30) in Cologne, Germany this year. Attendees are encouraged to visit the Cyprus Country Pavilion (Hall 03.2, Stand F-030G) to learn more about Melon Sandbox.

HIJINKS HIGH IS BACK WITH A WHOLE NEW WAY TO PLAY

Sackbird Studios’ chaotic co-op comedy goes third-person and PvE, with the new version playable for the first time at gamescom

Baltimore, MD – August 27, 2026. The Hijinks High announced in June isn’t quite the same game Sackbird Studios is bringing to gamescom.

Following its debut reveal earlier this summer, the independent, employee-owned studio has transformed Hijinks High into a third-person co-op PvE comedy for up to six players, where the school itself is the enemy, players can choose how they want to play, and every school day can unfold differently depending on who’s in the room.

For the first time, players will be able to get their hands on Hijinks High at gamescom 2026   (located in the Indie Area, Hall 10.2, Stand F044g – E061g), experiencing a full co-op school day where groups will tackle class periods and their objectives, deal with the game’s infamous toilet economy, where everything you eat and drink eventually has consequences and where it ends up can be worth points, attempt to avoid getting caught and dragged away, and face an end-of-class finale that changes depending on who’s in the room.

“The game has changed dramatically since we announced it,” said Adam Hafez, CEO of Sackbird Studios. “Moving to third-person completely changed what Hijinks High could be. You’re not just doing something ridiculous anymore, you’re watching your friends do it. Then we pushed the game towards PvE, and the school itself became the thing you’re fighting against. That’s where it really started to click.”

Watch the new Highjinks High gameplay trailer here

THE SCHOOL DOESN’T WANT YOU HERE

Each session plays out as a complete school day. Class periods give players absurd objectives while faculty NPCs enforce the rules. Get caught, and you’ll earn strikes, rack up naughtiness, or attract the attention of the janitor, who will happily drag you to detention.

The final bell brings no relief. Every player must make a run for the bus while the faculty gives chase, turning the end of every school day into an all-out extraction.

But who you play now matters just as much as what you do.

Players choose their playstyle before the day begins, with the first alternative being the wheelchair student. This is a genuine gameplay choice, with unique traversal, objectives and moments rather than simply a cosmetic option.

Sackbird Studios has built the school around that philosophy, too. One of the studio’s original The Elder Scrolls Online world builders designed the entire school to be ADA compliant, including an elevator network ensuring wheelchair players can reach every part of the school required during a session.

The approach has already produced some memorable results. During the studio’s first external playtest, testers independently came up with an idea for a physics-class finale involving sacrificing the wheelchair student before they had even been shown that such a possibility existed. It subsequently became one of the group’s favourite moments.

“That playtest told us we were onto something,” said Hafez. “They came up with exactly the kind of terrible idea we’d hoped players would come up with. Then, when the organised session ended, they went off to Discord and kept playing on their own. That’s the loop we’re building Hijinks High around.”

WHO SHOWS UP CHANGES EVERYTHING

The player roster is effectively the game’s replay button. Objectives and class finales can change depending on who’s in the session, while session modifiers can further warp the rules of the next school day, including one that can assign the wheelchair to an unsuspecting friend.

The game now also features persistent progression and leaderboards, with players’ records following them between sessions.

Outside school, players begin and end their days in The Cul-de-Sac, a social hub neighbourhood where every player already has their own house. Player housing customisation, seasonal leaderboards, larger social lobbies and additional playstyles are all in development.

Key Features

  • Six-Player Co-op PvE: Team up with up to five friends and take on a school that absolutely does not want you there.
  • Third-Person Chaos: See your character, your friends and every physics-driven disaster unfold around you.
  • Choose How You Play: Different playstyles change traversal, objectives and how you experience the school day.
  • The Wheelchair Student: A fully realized alternative playstyle with unique traversal and objectives.
  • The School Is the Enemy: Faculty enforce the rules, the janitor hunts you down, and getting caught is part of the fun.
  • Classroom Chaos: Objectives and finales can change depending on who is playing.
  • Warp the Rules: Buy session modifiers and prepare for the unexpected.
  • Escape Before the Bell: Survive the school day and make a desperate run for the bus.
  • Persistent Progression: Your records follow you between sessions.
  • The Cul-de-Sac: A social neighborhood where every player has their own house.

Hijinks High is currently in development for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as consoles. Wishlist Hijinks High on Steam and Epic Games Store and get ready to find out what happens when six friends are given a school, a set of objectives, and absolutely no intention of behaving.

BLACKWOOD SETS SEPTEMBER 16 RELEASE DATE FOR ACT 1 ON STEAM

The cinematic third-person action thriller invites players into a double life as a DVD store owner by day and ruthless contract killer by night

August 27, 2026. AttritoM7 Productions and IZilla Games have announced that BLACKWOOD: Act 1 will launch on PC via Steam on September 16, 2026, accompanied by a new release date trailer offering a closer look at the cinematic third-person action thriller.

Set in New York in 2012, BLACKWOOD follows an unassuming DVD store owner living a secret double life as a contract killer. While the store provides the façade of an ordinary existence, a second life awaits beyond its doors, drawing players into a dangerous criminal underworld where every contract brings new threats and buried secrets closer to the surface.

The release date announcement trailer provides a first look at what awaits when Act 1 launches, showcasing the game’s cinematic presentation, action and the two very different sides of its protagonist’s life.

Combining third-person action, responsive gunplay, grounded melee combat and brutal contextual takedowns with a cinematic narrative, BLACKWOOD gives players the freedom to approach encounters through a mixture of precision, movement and environmental interaction. Dives, rolls and slides allow players to move fluidly through combat, while contextual executions add a visceral edge to close-quarters encounters.

Away from the action, players return to the DVD store and apartment that form the protagonist’s everyday life. The store can be managed and customised, with players restocking shelves, organising inventory, setting prices and decorating their surroundings. These quieter activities provide a contrast to the increasingly dangerous world outside, while giving players a glimpse into the life the protagonist is trying to maintain.

As the story unfolds, the two sides of that life become increasingly difficult to separate. A cast of flawed characters, hidden secrets and criminal conspiracies draw the protagonist deeper into a world where his past and present begin to collide.

ACT 1 Arrives September 16

BLACKWOOD: Act 1 is the first chapter of a planned three-act story, but BLACKWOOD is not an Early Access title.

Launching September 16, Act 1 delivers four main story missions, alongside multiple side missions and additional content, offering more than six hours of gameplay.

The planned story structure consists of four main missions in Act 1, four in Act 2 and five in Act 3. These numbers refer to the main story missions only, with each Act also containing multiple side missions and additional content for players to discover.

Each Act is designed as a complete story arc that can stand on its own, while also advancing the overarching BLACKWOOD narrative. This gives each chapter its own beginning, development and conclusion while building towards the larger story across all three Acts.

Players purchasing BLACKWOOD will be purchasing the full game, with Acts 2 and 3 planned as free updates for existing owners. Act 2 is currently planned for March 2027, followed by Act 3 in September 2027, continuing the story and expanding the world as the remaining chapters are released.

Between the major Act releases, patches will introduce new side missions and other smaller pieces of content, giving players additional reasons to return to the game. As BLACKWOOD expands, each Act will also bring new additions where applicable, including collectibles, achievements, takedowns, weapons, enemy variations and other side content.

This structure allows players to begin their journey with BLACKWOOD in September while the development team continues to expand the complete experience, with new content arriving both alongside the major story Acts and between them.

BLACKWOOD Key Features

  • Live a Dangerous Double Life – Manage a Brooklyn DVD store by day to earn clean money before stepping into the role of a professional assassin after dark.
  • Grounded Cinematic Combat – Master brutal close-quarters combat, dynamic environmental takedowns, firearms, and tactical third-person action.
