On July 12th, Thief Simulator 2, the new installment of the best-selling game combining stealth, simulation, and adventure in a mafia-thief world, will be released on PlayStation 5. Players can now choose Reginleif. A member of the Celestial Guardians, Reginleif is a ranged-type Legendary hero who grants allies Tense Immunity when she’s in battle. When a critical hit attack is dealt successfully, she earns a buff to increase her attack for each Ranged unit in the team. Reginleif’s active skill deals damage to the designated area, and the damaged target gets a debuff that decreases its critical hit rate and defense. They are unable to block attacks while the debuff is active. Players will have the opportunity to obtain Reginleif through the Reginleif Rate Up Summon Event, which runs until July 24. 

Another newly-introduced Legendary hero is Aquila. She is a defense-type hero who grants Concentrated Attack debuff to a target upon a successful critical hit attack. All allies, other than those who are Taunted, will be forced to attack the target with the Concentrated Attack debuff. Aquila is also known for her skills to decrease her skill cooldowns and to recover her HP. 

A new mini-game, Coliseum, is now available for players to enjoy until July 24. Players can form a team of randomly provided heroes to fight in battles and obtain rewards based on the total number of wins. The new Mirage Tower is a game mode where players can battle enemies on each of the 9 floors to earn as many points as possible for a high score. Players can receive a Score Achievement Reward and Ranking Reward based on their high score. 

This latest update also features the introduction of stages 18,401 to 19,200. Players can obtain Giparang, Jake, and Asura from the Guards’ Carnival Event that runs through July 24. A new Guild Boss, Steel Predator, will be available to challenge starting on July 18.

Alluding to the Rabbit’s pre-occupation with being late, his home has been littered with clocks and time motifs, including a clock floor and the pervasive sound of ticking.

Caterpillar’s Mushroom

Ever wondered if a caterpillar wears socks? Wonder no more, as players will find them hanging on the line. A more curious question is do they wear PJ’s and what do they look like?! The answer lies under the muck!

Mad Tea Party

In this unique level, players will see things from a whole new perspective… after being shrunken down to miniature size and let loose with 1:1 controls to clean up the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party with accuracy.

Queen of Hearts’ Court

Players will feel imposed and invited in equal measure as they look up, down and all around at the beautiful environmental art and regal details. They’ll stare in awe at the trimmed hedges that perfectly line up with the Queen’s crown and the wonderfully illustrated banners that undoubtably cement this as a domain fit for a Queen!

Step Out from the Shadows with the Retail Edition and iam8bit Exclusive Edition at schim.iam8bit.com, Digital Version Launching July 18

LOS ANGELES – July 11, 2024. iam8bit, together with developers Ewoud van der Werf and Nils Slijkerman and publisher Extra Nice, are collaborating to release physical editions of the acclaimed indie adventure launching soon on multiple platforms throughout the Americas and EMEA. Fans may choose the retail edition, available on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch for €34.99/£29.99, or hunt for the iam8bit Exclusive Edition, available for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch for $39.99.

The standard physical edition, which will be available at major retailers Americas and EMEA, features the main game alongside four bonus art cards showcasing scenes from the game, and includes cover art by Janna van Abbema. This snazzy edition will be available on store shelves on October 25. 

Fans may also opt for the iam8bit Exclusive Edition, which includes an 11″x17″ Street Scene Poster with four Character & Shadow Sticker Sheets, as well as Exclusive Cover Art by Owen D. Pomery, all for $39.99.  This version is exclusive to iam8bit.com and will begin shipping in Q4 2024.

The digital version of SCHiM will also be available for download beginning July 18 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox and PC.

SCHiM started off as an exam project for Ewoud in February 2020. Ewoud had the opportunity to do his exam at Indie Game Studio: Extra Nice. Ewoud pitched the idea of platforming through shadows. Together with the company, Ewoud worked on what became the first version of SCHiM for his exam. Several tweets about the game caught the attention of possible publishers and the scope was adjusted to become a more full-fledged game instead of a short experience. Ewoud aced his exam and continued to work on SCHiM together with Nils Slijkerman and additional support from Extra Nice.
