Years in the making, the next major update expands and heavily evolves Knox Country, while introducing sweeping upgrades to survival, crafting, animals, and world simulation
Newcastle, United Kingdom – 23rd July, 2026: After years of barricading windows, boiling dubious water, arguing about generators, and asking whether this particular scratch is probably fine, The Indie Stone is delighted to announce that Project Zomboid (PC, Mac, Linux) will receive its long awaited major update ‘Build 42’ on 29th July.
The full release of Project Zomboid’s Build 42, marks a major milestone for one of PC gaming’s most enduring survival games. Two years in the making, Build 42 represents a substantial evolution of Project Zomboid’s bleak, brilliant, and stubbornly uncompromising zombie sandbox, expanding and refreshing Knox Country with new places to explore, deeper long-term survival systems, and, naturally, plenty of new ways to tell the story of how you died.
The latest update expands Project Zomboid with a wide range of new and improved features, including deeper crafting and building systems, animal husbandry, new and updated map content, improved lighting, expanded lore, and a host of quality-of-life improvements designed to make the apocalypse more immersive, more flexible, and more capable of ruining your afternoon.
More than a decade after players first began trying to survive the Knox Event, Project Zomboid remains a cult fixture for the survival simulation community. For players new and old, the full release of Build 42 marks one of the best times yet to discover a survival RPG where death is inevitable, preparedness is optional, and a can opener can feel more valuable than gold. For returning survivors, it offers a major reason to come back, take stock of the neighbourhood, and confidently make the exact same terrible choices all over again.
“Build 42 has been a huge undertaking for the team, and we are all incredibly grateful to the community for sticking with us: testing, surviving, dying, and then doing it all again, while providing valuable feedback all along the way,” said Christian Allen, Design Director at The Indie Stone. “Project Zomboid has always been about creating a world where the player tells their own story, and this update gives them even more areas, systems, and tools to create the memories of How They Died.”
Since its earliest alpha days, Project Zomboid has grown into one of the most detailed survival sandboxes on PC, combining brutal zombie survival with deep simulation, base building, crafting, character progression, mod support, multiplayer, and an enormous isometric Kentucky map full of places where everything will probably be fine until it very suddenly is not.
Key additions in the latest update include:
A heavily evolved Knox Country, expanding and overhauling the game’s Kentucky setting with new and reworked areas
Deeper crafting and building systems, giving players more ways to create, maintain, and improve their long-term survival setup, from short-term fixes to more ambitious attempts at self-sufficiency
Animals and animal husbandry, adding new layers to wilderness survival, farming, food production, and the fragile dream of building something that lasts
Improved lighting and atmosphere, making homes, towns, forests, roads, and the dark corners between them feel more grounded, readable, and dangerous
Expanded lore and environmental storytelling, offering more texture to the world before, during, and after everything went extremely sideways
Quality-of-life improvements and system updates across inventory, interactions, UI, and more, supporting one of the broadest updates in Project Zomboid’s long development history
Of course, this is still Project Zomboid. Build 42 gives players more ways to survive, but this is still the story of how you died.
Project Zomboid Build 42 will launch on 29th July for PC, Mac, and Linux via Steam and GOG.
Project Zomboid is the ultimate zombie survival RPG from independent developer The Indie Stone. Set in the towns and countryside of Knox County, Kentucky, players must scavenge, craft, build, fight, sneak, farm, fish, repair, barricade, and make increasingly desperate choices in a world where death is not a possibility, but a promise. Whether playing alone, with friends, or on community servers, every survivor’s story begins the same way: This is how you died.
About The Indie Stone
The Indie Stone is the independent development studio behind Project Zomboid, one of PC gaming’s longest-running and most beloved survival sandboxes. Built with a deep commitment to simulation, modding, community feedback, and long-term development, Project Zomboid continues to evolve as a uniquely detailed vision of life, death, and questionable carpentry during the zombie apocalypse.
Game Atelier delivers controller and Steam Deck support, character selection and a rebuilt second stage before putting active development on hold
Paris, France – July 24th, 2026 – Game Atelier, the acclaimed studio behind Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom and Otherskin, have just introduced the first major update to their asymmetrical horror game Follow Us since its Early Access launch last month. This latest update radically revises its second stage along with a host of other quality of life improvements.
Following player feedback received since launch, many players also pointed out that Level 2, A Night with DJ Susan, was less fun and less frightening than the others. The dev team took this feedback on board and completely reworked the level. This radically revised version of Level 2 is available now.
Additionally, this update adds several new features, including full controller support, Steam Deck support, and the ability to change your character skin.
Unfortunately, despite the studio’s efforts to support and promote the Early Access launch, current sales do not allow Game Atelier to maintain an active development team on the project. Development is therefore being put on hold after the release of this update. Follow Us will remain available and playable, and the studio hopes it may be able to return to the project in the future.
“Follow Us was an entirely self-funded project, including its development, localisation, marketing, PR and outreach to content creators,” said Fabien at Game Atelier. “Despite these efforts, the game did not reach a large enough audience to sustain continued development. Before putting the project on hold, we wanted to deliver the reworked Level 2, controller and Steam Deck support, and the other improvements included in this update.
We know that many of the players who supported us were looking forward to seeing what came next, especially so soon after the Early Access release. We sincerely thank everyone who played, streamed, screamed, laughed and panicked with us.
Of course, communication isn’t cut off—we still welcome suggestions and will fix bugs whenever possible.”
For those unfamiliar with Follow Us, each round begins with players choosing between two roles:
The Explorer (EXY): Bravely navigate a deadly, haunted environment
The Operator (OPY): Hang back safe in the van, hacking the playspace to protect their partner
Built on communication rather than complex mechanics, Follow Us creates tension by combining two different things: isolation and connection. Expect panic, shouting, and miscommunication. One wrong call can get your partner killed, and yes, it will probably be your fault. Each stage offers its own unique mechanics, ensuring that players are tasked with different types of communication-based challenges.
Every mission plays with fear in a different way… but they all end the same way: shared panic, bad decisions, and laughter. The Explorer experiences isolation and danger in the field, while the operator suffers through helplessness and constant pressure. Every swap creates a fresh emotional scenario, making each playthrough completely different with unexpected communication conflicts guaranteed to create creepy co-op chaos! Using lo-fi chunky PSone-inspired graphics, everything in Follow Us aims for a clean, immediately legible aesthetic so anyone can hop right into the action and understand its horrific hijinks!
The game is available in thirteen languages, with full text and menu localisation in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Turkish, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.
About Game Atelier: Founded in 2010, Game Atelier is an independent studio with AAA-indie expertise, dedicated to crafting player-focused action-adventure games that blend creativity with technical craftsmanship. The team is known for standout titles like Flying Hamster and the acclaimed Monster Boy, alongside commissioned projects such as the UE5-powered Otherskin. With Follow Us, Game Atelier returns to fully independent, self-funded development, embracing creative freedom, in-house production, and the strength of a tight-knit team.

The game also supports cross-platform co-op multiplayer between PC, PlayStation 5, and XBOX Series X|S.
“Bringing Brave Escape to consoles has always been about giving more players the chance to experience the unpredictable teamwork and hilarious failures that make co-op games special,” said Steve Ciaramitaro, Game Designer at Hit Start Studios. “Some of our favorite moments from development came from watching players solve problems together, whether they were perfectly synchronized or completely falling apart. With cross-platform play, friends can now jump in together no matter where they play.”
Originally released on PC to a “Very Positive” reception on Steam, Brave Escape challenges two players to work together as Colin and Floyd – an unlikely duo navigating fast-paced hazards, precision platforming sequences, and handcrafted co-op challenges that demand communication, coordination, and split-second timing.

45 additional levels added since the original PC release
70 bonus levels across all 7 worlds
Online and local co-op multiplayer

Every environment introduces new challenges designed to encourage collaboration and replayability.
To ensure accessibility for all skill levels, Brave Escape includes both a Brave Mode for platforming veterans and a Standard Mode, which introduces more forgiving timing, fewer hazards and a smoother difficulty curve – making it easier for friends and families to enjoy the full adventure together.
Brave Escape is currently slated for release on Xbox and PlayStation consoles later this year.

Watch the Sword of Convallaria 2nd Anniversary Special Preview below:
To celebrate the game’s latest milestone, XD Games is releasing the A Nostalgic Bond memoir, an opportunity for all Voyagers — from 31 July to 27 August — to reflect on the biggest moments from the past year (and earn rewards in the process).
Additionally, players can look forward to receiving a commemorative gift via in-game mail containing a series of rewards like an Anniversary Cake furniture item, resources, a limited avatar frame and more on 1 August.
Players can also take part in the Galactic Remnants log-in event to earn even more daily rewards or try Astral Surfing to try and earn rewards to power up their companions even faster.
Plus, new and returning players who haven’t logged in for over 45 days can unlock the special Vow of Reunion summon the first time they log in and get the chance to choose which two heroes they want an increased summon rate for.
Once those festivities are underway, players can look forward to Sword of Convallaria’s latest story arc, which takes them to the frozen plains of Luccia, the northernmost reaches of Rodinia. This new expansion will play out in two parts, with the next update containing two complete stories, each released in full for Voyagers to experience from beginning to end.
From 31 July, players can dive into Sagas of Ice and Blood, which sees Luccia facing a winter unlike any other, and sees the realm’s resilient residents facing life-or-death trials. Story two, Frostheart, takes players back in time to Year 980, shortly after the Luccian Empire’s defeat in the Second Radiant War, and is due to launch on 25 September.
Players can look forward to meeting four new companions in the new season: Ulya, a streetwise gadgeteer who can buff her allies on the battlefield, Rogneda, the Scion of Luccia who can fight in human or her Golden Lion form, Anna, the mysterious leader of The Forsaken, and Alexei, who returns with more refined combat skills as Alexei – Snowstride.
The new update will also introduce the brand-new strategy event Hunt on the Frozen Plains. This new event offers three branching modes designed to test players’ mettle on the battlefield: the standard Coldwind Hunting Grounds, the one-team challenge mode Endless March, and the boss gauntlet, Frostcataclysm.
Finally, XD Games are happy to confirm that they are planning the second in-person Sword of Convallaria community meet-up. Event details are expected to be shared across official social channels soon.

Q1 Net Bookings reached €256m, down 9% year-on-year and slightly above guidance. The outperformance was driven by a record performance for Invincible: Guarding the Globe while the rest of the catalog performed in line with expectations. The year-on-year decrease mainly reflects a high comparison base, as Q1 FY2025-26 included significant bookings from Assassin’s Creed® Shadows following its release in March 2025.
Strong launch of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced in July, achieving 84 on OpenCritic and Metacritic, with 3.5 million copies sold-in to date, exceeding annual expectations within its first 14 days.
Further progress on Group Transformation:
Industry veteran Christoph Hartmann appointed General Manager of Creative House 2.
Additional rightsizing across the organization, with the closure of the Winnipeg and Belgrade studios, targeted changes across the Group’s Global Publishing organization and the restructuring of the Ubisoft Barcelona studio.
FY2026-27 and mid-term outlook confirmed.
Paris, July 23, 2026 – Today, Ubisoft released its sales figures for the first quarter of fiscal 2026-27, i.e., the three months ended June 30, 2026.
Yves Guillemot, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, said “We delivered first-quarter net bookings slightly above guidance. This performance was led by a record contribution from Invincible: Guarding the Globe while the rest of our portfolio, including Rainbow Six Siege, performed in line with our expectations.
We also continued to execute our transformation. This included further targeted rightsizing actions and the ongoing reconcentration of resources towards our highest-potential opportunities. At the same time, the leadership of our new operating model and organization continues to take shape, including the appointment of Christoph Hartmann to lead Creative House 2 in building a world-class portfolio of battlefield-driven experiences.
The strong launch of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced in early July by Vantage Studios is an encouraging proof point. The game is the highest-rated Assassin’s Creed title since the original Black Flag, and we are very pleased with the praise it received from players. Two weeks in, the title has already exceeded the annual expectations we had. I would like to warmly thank the teams whose talent and dedication brought it to life. This launch illustrates the enduring appeal of the Assassin’s Creed brand, as well as the early benefits of our ongoing transformation and commitment to delivering very high-quality experiences.
Finally, today we are confirming our FY2026-27 objectives and mid-term outlook. FY2026-27 remains a year of disciplined execution as we continue to implement our transformation, invest behind our strongest opportunities and prepare for a significantly stronger content cycle. We are confident this new operating model will strengthen our position as a leading creator of high-quality, memorable and engaging entertainment experiences, and enable the Group to return to a stronger trajectory of performance, cash generation and long-term value creation.”
Q1 ACTIVITY
First quarter net bookings reached €256 million, down 9% year-on-year, and slightly above guidance. The overperformance versus guidance was driven by Invincible: Guarding the Globe, while the rest of the catalog performed in line with expectations. Back-catalog bookings stood at €221m, down 15% year-on-year, mainly reflecting significant bookings from Assassin’s Creed Shadows in the prior-year quarter, following its release on March 20, 2025.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six® Siege performed in line with expectations this quarter. Year 11 Season 2 delivered one of the best battle pass conversion rates for a season without a new operator and the meta-driven rotating changes brought depth and variety to the experience. Overall, average DAUs throughout the quarter were slightly up on the back of a comparison base that benefited from the launch of Siege X and its free entry point in June last year. Looking ahead, Season 3 will introduce a new shield-counter defense operator, a highly requested addition, and the Legends Division, a new playlist targeting core competitive players. The game engagement will also be supported by its participation in the Esport World Cup in August taking place in Paris.
Elsewhere in the catalog, Live Services titles were supported by the regular rollout of new content. The Division® 2 released Year 8 Season 1 this quarter, which helped deliver improved monetization trends year-on-year driven by virtual currency conversion and DARPU records. The Crew® Motorfest benefited from the NASCAR-themed Season 9 that released in March as well as the RC Frenzy playlist and the inclusion in the PS+ subscription service, which drove robust year-on-year growth in active users and session days.
On the mobile side, Invincible: Guarding the Globe delivered a record quarter in terms of net bookings more than 2 years after launch, outperforming expectations. Momentum built through the period thanks to the March release of the TV series’ fourth season and the introduction of a new in-game character, which together drove meaningful player acquisition, retention and monetization.
FY2026-27 CONTENT ROADMAP
Released on July 9, 2026, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has made a strong startwith 3.5 million copies sold-in to date, exceeding annual expectations within its first 14 days. The game is praised by critics and players alike, with a current 84 review score on OpenCritic and Metacritic, making it the highest-rated Assassin’s Creed game since the launch of the original Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag in 2013. Following launch, player sentiment continued to strengthen, and the game showed robust player engagement, with a record performance for the franchise on PC as it reached a peak of around 105k concurrent players on Steam, the highest ever recorded for an Assassin’s Creed title on the platform. This translated into a historical proportion of sales for the franchise on PC, led by the US and Chinese markets. In addition to the enduring appeal of the Assassin’s Creed brand, Resynced is an early demonstration of the expected benefits of the Group’s transformation and its focus on enhanced quality enabled by the revamped, cutting-edge proprietary Anvil engine.
Resynced demonstrates Ubisoft’s ability to leverage proven catalog brands through remakes to win over a whole new generation of players. Similarly, Rayman® Legends Retold was revealed recently and is set to launch on October 1, 2026, marking the franchise’s 30th anniversary. Early hands-on coverage has been encouraging, with press highlighting the new visuals and cinematics, expanded worldbuilding and new gameplay additions that build on the original’s celebrated foundation. This premium remake, co-led by Ubisoft Montpellier and Milan, reimagines the acclaimed platformer in full 3D, deepens its world and introduces fresh gameplay ideas while preserving the original’s DNA.

DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO’s new content, the “Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC”, will be released on 30 July 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
As detailed in the Producer Letter, this DLC will introduce a new solo mode called “Limit Breaker Journey”, where players can choose their favourite character, develop their abilities and customise them through a variety of battles. Players will navigate the map, select opponents based on their strength and use Battle Arts to gain advantages. Character stats can then be increased, allowing players to shape their fighter to suit their preferred playstyle.
The DLC also includes four new Episode Battles, 33 new characters from DRAGON BALL, DRAGON BALL Z, DRAGON BALL SUPER and DRAGON BALL GT, as well as four new stages.
But that’s not all, as a free update will also introduce gameplay changes and new mechanics. “Sparking! Boost” allows players to spend a large amount of Skill Stock to further increase their attack power while in Sparking! Mode. However, once the boost ends, their stats will be temporarily reduced. “Chain Blast” is a new mechanic that creates an additional follow-up opportunity after sending an opponent flying. By switching to a reserve ally and continuing the attack with a blast, players can deal massive damage. Variations of existing stages will also be added in this update.
DRAGON BALL: Sparking! ZERO is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch. The “Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC” will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. More details regarding the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions will be announced at a later date.
