Virginia, United States – 29 June, 2026. Indie developer Electric Machine Games is excited to announce that The Core, the immersive narrative-driven action-adventure game, will launch into Steam Early Access on August 13th, 2026.

Developed by a solo creator, The Core is the debut PC title from Electric Machine Games, the studio founded by the developer behind the mobile phenomenon Tall Man Run, which has amassed more than 250 million downloads worldwide. Following extensive community feedback gathered through multiple public playtests and a Steam demo, players will soon be able to experience the first chapters of this ambitious sci-fi adventure as it begins its Early Access journey.

In The Core, players awaken as an autonomous AI deep within a long-forgotten facility, stripped of their memories and uncertain of their purpose. Exploring a mysterious world of abandoned machinery, forgotten technology, and bleak dystopian landscapes, players must uncover the truth behind their creation while mastering movement, puzzle-solving, exploration, and combat.

The initial Early Access release will feature three fully playable story chapters, along with 30 standalone challenge missions known as Cain’s Trials. These unique scenarios reward players with Tech currency used to progress through the main narrative, while timed challenge modes and Steam leaderboards offer additional replayability for those seeking mastery.

Built with community collaboration at its heart, The Core will continue to evolve throughout Early Access with new story content, additional trials, gameplay improvements, and enhancements driven by player feedback.

About The Core

The Core is a narrative-driven action-adventure that blends exploration, puzzle-solving, platforming, and combat within a mysterious sci-fi world. As you journey deeper into the world, you’ll unlock powerful upgrades, master momentum-based traversal, solve environmental puzzles, and use a versatile energy tool to manipulate machinery, overcome obstacles, and defend yourself against hostile threats. From dark corridors and decaying technology to forests, cliffsides, and abandoned surface environments, every area hides new secrets waiting to be discovered.

Scattered clues, recordings, and remnants of a lost civilisation gradually reveal the fate of humanity and the purpose behind your existence, transforming a search for answers into a much larger journey of self-discovery, mystery, and survival.

After months of community-driven development, The Core is ready to welcome players into its world. Wishlist now on Steam and prepare to begin your journey when Early Access launches on August 13th.

Set Sail For Adventure – Old School RuneScape Unveils New Area Wyrmscraig

Winner of the Player Designed Island Contest, the Mysterious New Island Adds a New Quest, New Activities, a New Mini Boss and More!

29th July, 2026, Cambridge, UK – Today, Jagex: The RuneScape Company is thrilled to share that the mists have lifted across the treacherous waters of the Unquiet Ocean to reveal a perilous new area for players to forge new adventures: Wyrmscraig. Created by OSRS player and creator ScreteMonge (also known as Gnome), his concept was selected from over 1,000 entries to the community Player-Designed Island Competition earlier this year. This new area introduces a new sailing destination brimming with new content, including a new quest, new activities, and a new repeatable boss, The Mad Angel, and more.

Far across the south-west sea of Gielinor lies the secluded island of Wyrmscraig. Known to the locals as Cuil An Domainh, its rugged mountainous terrain and highly aggressive wildlife make for the perfect place for adventurers to explore. Upon arriving on its rocky shores, players will encounter the remote village of Auchrie, occupied by a tenacious community who have built a secluded life for themselves despite the harsh environment, making them wary of the rare traveller to wash ashore.

Travelling to Wyrmscraig and scaling its rocky shores will give access to exciting activities, making the difficult journey worthwhile for the most determined adventurers:

New Quest: Fallen From Grace and New Repeatable Boss: An introduction to the island where players explore the village of Auchurie, they learn of the enigmatic Guardian of its people, The Mad Angel, whose presence may just be myth. Adventurers must learn what led this once benevolent protector to descend into madness and ascend the steps of Ardeaglais to discover the truth of her existence. Upon completion of this quest, Adventurers can test their might against the new repeatable boss, The Mad Angel, to earn themselves the valuable weapon, Hallowfell.

New Slayer Master: Mortimer: Accessible once players have started to progress through Fallen From Grace and unlockable with 100 Combat and 70 Slayer (or 99 Slayer respectively), this new high-level slayer master puts control into players’ hands. Instead of the traditional single task assignment, Mortimer offers slayers a choice of two, with the ability to unlock three assignments to choose from as the relationship progresses; however, assignments will be more expensive to skip. As players progress, they’ll unlock powerful modifiers that appear alongside the task, granting extra rewards or benefits, depending on the assignment.

New Activity: Golem Crafting: After completing the Fallen From Grace quest, players unlock the ability to craft new protectors for the islands people – golems. As an alternative training method to glassblowing, crafters will mine the rocky terrain for sunstone, then sculpt the golem’s stone figure, and finally adorn it with clothing for bonus crafting experience.

New Activity: Goat Hunting: A brand-new hunter training activity; players will need to cull the out-of-control goat population on the island by herding their prey into spike-filled pits, using spike traps that can be found on the island. Each goat successfully herded towards their doom will grant hunter experience, with a greater amount of additional hunter XP granted for every goat processed as well as the unique goat hunter pet Mr McGroot.

Old School RuneScape is available now on PC, Steam, iOS, and Android, complete with cross-platform progression and play on PC and mobile.

EXTRACT, DEFEND, DISCOVER. ‘OMEN’ TO RELEASE ON STEAM AUGUST 11TH

Take the role of an immortal starship pilot sent to investigate the ruins of a fallen empire.

Seattle, United States, 29 July 2026 | Indie developer Codex Interactive is excited to announce that their debut title, Omen, will release on Steam on August 11th, 2026. In this top-down sci-fi extraction shooter, players will explore and loot the war-torn remains of a fallen galactic empire while shoring up a defensive front to combat waves of lurking pirates, opportunistic traitors, and savage cultists.

Galaxy-Wide Calamity

Humanity has been reduced to a post-apocalyptic expanse of broken space stations and nomadic ships. Take on the role of an Astral, an immortal starship pilot whose job is to investigate The Veil, a cosmic anomaly hailed by an army of cultists set on inciting a total war to claim power. Amidst this macabre backdrop, Omen challenges players to root out the forces of the Veil, raid their bases, defend against retaliatory infiltration, and ally with the resistance to recenter the remaining threads of humanity.

Rebuild the Monastery

Omen combines base defense combat, ship customization, item crafting, and extraction looter elements for a cross-genre gameplay experience. At the start of the game, you come across the remains of a derelict monastery suitable enough to use as your base. With the Monastery as your hub, interact with local NPCs to claim missions, customize your ship, and build new weapons for your future raids. It is a prime target for the forces of the Veil, so it’s essential to build out its defenses to survive the brutal waves of enemy onslaught.

A Futile, Four-Part Saga

Every region of the Samarin Empire has unique challenges, quests, and loot. Discover Omen’s four-act structure as you delve further into the burning remains of a once-great civilization. Each act, complete with its own set of questlines, mini-objectives, and loot drops, ends with a high-octane boss battle to test your upgraded weaponry, tactics, and skills. Battle through military bases, secret research facilities, and the Empire’s capital city before reaching The Veil. Secure final weaponry upgrades and team up with new allies to face the abominations of this otherworldly dimension. Do you have what it takes to overcome The Veil for good?

Gameplay Features

  • Base Defense Gameplay: Hordes of pirates, a legion of traitors, and an armada of cultists want you dead. Craft a variety of defensive structures and expand your base to withstand retaliatory enemy raids.
  • Extraction Shooter: Select a mission to complete allies’ objectives and extract valuable resources; if the enemy response fleet arrives, quickly stage your exit or be prepared to face powerful capital ships.
  • Four Act Saga: Uncover the truth behind The Veil across four distinct story arcs against a cosmic backdrop of Lovecraftian-styled myth. Each Act features a unique enemy faction and culminates in an epic boss battle.
  • Over 80 Items and Upgrades: Collect loot from enemy bases, select from a variety of ship hulls, and build a combination of over 80 weapons, defensive structures, abilities, and utility items. There are hundreds of different possible loadouts, each with unique strengths and drawbacks.

Omen arrives on Steam August 11th. Players can wishlist the game for launch updates and try the demo to experience Omen’s first act. For more information about Codex Interactive, please visit their website: https://www.codexinteractive.com/
