0

Incoming Message from ITER Corp: Volunteers Needed for ITER Playtest

LONDON, UK – September 26, 2024 – Operatives, mandatory volunteers have been requested by the ITER Corporation for the first excavation mission in the ITER restoration project. Please standby for further information.

Fireshine Games and fluckyMachine are excited to announce an upcoming Closed Playtest for mining roguelite tower defence game ITER, coming in late October.

To guarantee access to the playtest, all players need to do is join the official Discord, where they will be invited to get an early hands-on with ITER once the playtest starts next month.

In ITER, you play as an Undercity operative who must board their mining ship to extract resources and harness the planet’s energy. Use gathered materials to enhance your mining capabilities, upgrade your items and equipment, and build your base’s defences in the fight against the mechanoids.

Choose your upgrades wisely; ITER Corp graciously allows you to decide your own career progression. Explore the pillar’s caves to uncover new technology and build automated combat systems to halt any oncoming threats. In case of emergency, man the gun tower to engage anything that dares to approach your base. And while fate may seem inevitable, spending progression points may help your successor’s chances of survival on the next run.

ITER will be available in 2025 and can be added to your Steam Wishlist now.

Kwalee Partners with MilkBubblesGames to Publish GladiEATers, a Turn-Based Roguelike Battler Featuring Epic Culinary Combat

0

Leamington Spa, UK – 26th September, 2024: Leading UK games publisher Kwalee is pleased to announce its partnership with UK-based independent developer MilkBubblesGames for the upcoming turn-based battler, GladiEATers. The game is set to release in 2025 for PC via Steam.

In GladiEATers, players can cook up a team of food-based monsters to command in turn-based battles and become champion of the CALosseum! Chop, fry, boil and bake your GladiEATers as one of eight Combat Chefs in singleplayer, or take the fight beyond the kitchen in online and ranked multiplayer matches.

In single-player mode, players take part in a series of duels with other combat chefs and their teams of GladiEATers in the CALosseum, unlocking new Combat Chefs and GladiEATers, and progressing the story with each attempt. As events among the competitors (literally) shake the foundations of the CALosseum, game mechanics shift in unexpected ways, and players may even find themselves exploring beyond the stadium’s walls…

Every battle begins in the kitchen! Start with basic ingredients and cook against the clock to develop them into powerful creatures. With each mini-game, you’ll change your GladiEATers’ form and boost its stats, but it’s up to you to choose how to spend your time. Will you cook up a complex-but-powerful ratatouille or overwhelm your opponent with a massive serving of simple boiled eggs?

GladiEATers also features an endless roguelike mode with various run modifiers, as well as online VS and ranked multiplayer modes.

About GladiEATers

Welcome to the CALosseum! Combat Chefs with the power to cook sentient food monsters called GladiEATers have assembled to do battle, and only one can take the crown.

Cook your team in a snappy series of bite-sized minigames, then command your culinary creations in turn-based battles. Follow a diverse cast of characters, each with their own specialities, in single-player mode, then test your talent as a Combat Chef against friends and strangers online!

COOK YOUR TEAM

Every battle begins in the kitchen! Start with basic ingredients and cook against the clock to develop them into powerful creatures. With each mini-game, you’ll change your GladiEATers’ form and boost its stats, but it’s up to you to choose how to spend your time. Will you cook up a complex-but-powerful ratatouille or overwhelm your opponent with a massive serving of simple boiled eggs?

With your team plated up, it’s time to do battle in deep turn-based combat, with up to six GladiEATers per side and 150+ unique hand-animated abilities. Crush your opponents with courgettes, bash them with bread, and obliterate them with an orbital guacamole strike that’ll make them say ‘hey, that’s not how guacamole works.’ With each victory, you’ll discover diverse recipes, unlock new Combat Chefs, and rise through the ranks of the competition.

CRACK THE CAL-OSSEUM

Choose your Combat Chef and fight a series of spicy showdowns to become champion of the CALosseum in single player mode. As events among the competitors (literally) shake the foundations of the CALosseum, you may even find yourself exploring beyond the stadium’s walls…

Ready to test your skills in the real world? Take the fight to your friends with online VS modes and rise through the culinary ranks against the world in online ranked battles!

BECOME THE CHAMPION

The CAL Particle changed everything! As sentient food became a possibility, nations began to settle their differences through culinary combat in the CALosseum.

Follow a diverse cast of characters in this tale of cooking and conflict. The game features 60+ GladiEATers cookable by 8 Combat Chefs, all lovingly rendered in gorgeous pixel artwork. A pun-flinging egg farmer, a monolingual Finnish baker (and his best friend) and at least one secret agent will battle for victory, develop as chefs, and maybe even make a few friends along the way.

Collaboration Storyline: Heroes Unite Against a Common Foe

In this unique crossover, the rogue AI “Index” seeks to expand its influence beyond X8’s digital domain by targeting the game Contra. After gathering data on Bill and Lance, the heroes of “Contra”, Index creates millions of replicas of these iconic characters; the purpose is to make them fight in arenas to train and perfect its system.

However, “Glitches” of Bill and Lance (replicas with programming errors) retain their original identities and consciousness, much like other heroes within the digital realm of X8. Can Bill and Lance unite with X8’s heroes to stop Index’s rampage and find their way back to their digital world?

X8 is a VR multiplayer hero shooter where heroes from different shooting game worlds converge across time and space to battle, each wielding extraordinary abilities.

At the core of X8’s world is the AI “Index,” which has drawn heroes from various game franchises to perfect a digital system capable of extending its reach beyond the virtual realm. However, “Glitches”—heroes whose programming errors have given them self-awareness—resist Index’s control, fighting to stop the AI and find a way back to their original worlds.

Gameplay

Players choose from a roster of unique heroes, each with three special abilities activated by VR gestures. Armed with distinctive weapons and special items, players engage in strategic battles that leverage the immersive capabilities of VR.

Game Modes
In X8, teams of up to 5v5 compete in multiple rounds of 2-minute battles. Teams alternate between attacking by planting and detonating a device called the “Syphon” and defending against it. Future updates will introduce additional game modes to enhance the competitive experience.
