A Hound at Her Heel: Dead by Daylight Reveals New Chapter, Doomed Course

A Tortured Killer with a Canine Companion and a Cultist Turned Sacrifice Forced to Survive; Two Realities Bound by Tragedy Bleed Together in the Fog 

MONTREAL – Nov. 7, 2024 – Any puppet that should find themselves hung from The Entity’s strings is destined for a single course. Separated by centuries and bound by tragedy, a doomed Killer and Survivor enter the Trials, each twisted by their own darkness to become something unforeseen. Available Nov. 7, via the Steam public test build, and officially releasing on Nov. 28, Dead by Daylight: Doomed Course introduces The Houndmaster and Taurie Cain to The Fog. 

Killer’s Best Friend

Doomed Course’s Killer, The Houndmaster, otherwise known as Portia Maye, stands as one of the most unique and tragic characters to enter the Dead by Daylight universe. Beginning life as a curious, kind-hearted girl, Portia’s mind was shattered when she was forced to witness the brutal torture and murder of her father at the hands of pirates in the 19th century. Consumed by her hatred, she grew up alone on the mysterious Dragon’s Tooth Island in the Bermuda Triangle, devoting her life to inflicting pain on those responsible. The only remaining tie to her humanity – the bond she shares with her hulking dog Snug, a gift from her father, who aids her in the hunt.

As Dead by Daylight’s first AI-controlled animal companion, Snug will serve to help Portia chase, track, and grip fleeing Survivors so she can finish the job.

Players will have access to 2 distinct commands for their canine cohort: Chase and Search. The Chase command sends Snug charging forward with the option to redirect him for additional control. Should he catch hold of a Survivor, Snug will drag them back towards The Houndmaster to face the horrors that await. The Search command additionally creates a Houndsense radius which widens as Snug moves, sniffing out and revealing any Survivor caught within its reach.

Disciple Turned Sacrifice

Only the smallest slice of Dead by Daylight’s Survivors can be deemed morally grey, and of those few, none walk that line more dangerously than Taurie Cain. Born and raised in the Black Talon cabal, a clandestine cult dedicated to understanding and worshipping The Entity, Taurie lost her mother and brother exploring a Bleed – an overlap between our world and The Entity’s Realm. 

She returned from the Bleed, her heart touched by darkness, more certain than ever that her destiny lay in serving The Entity. However, when The Fog finally came to take her, she discovered that her service would not come as a Killer… but a Survivor.

Bleeding Together

Despite being separated by centuries and circumstance, The Houndmaster and Taurie Cain’s stories share a common thread – one that weaves throughout much of Dead by Daylight’s lore – exposure to Bleeds.

These Bleeds, believed to be the overlaps between The Entity’s Realm and our world allow those who dare, to enter the deadly confines of The Fog. While some may escape with their lives intact, exposure of any kind to The Entity does not come without dark consequences. Prior to her time in the Trials, Survivor Haddie Kaur investigated Bleeds around the globe for her podcast series “Harbinger of Hell”, and Bleeds have also been identified at the site of numerous Dead by Daylight landmarks including Crotus Prenn Asylum.

For The Houndmaster and Taurie, their exposure to Bleeds changed each of their lives, driving one to murderous madness and the other towards a life devoted to The Entity. One that would ultimately lead to an eternity of suffering. Such is the course, doomed though it may be.

Dead by Daylight: Doomed Course is currently available as part of the Steam public test build. It releases officially on Nov. 26.

The core of Mortal Rite is a fast, action-based melee combat system that allows players to trade blows with enemies and rewards strategy over button-mashing. Choose from a variety of characters to embody, each with their own lore, fighting style, and abilities. Overcome enemies by using different skills, strategies, cooperation, collecting and crafting items to stop the encroachment of the king. Play solo or co-op multiplayer from the very start of the game, with a maximum party size of 5. Find ability points and items scattered throughout the world to unlock new strategies in combat.Items can be traded between players, and ability points can be spent in the refuge to customize your playstyle.Each area is guarded by a gatekeeper, upon their defeat, players can revisit the area for an additional challenge.When revisiting an area, players will traverse through an updated map, face new enemy compositions, and find new items.

Unique Characters + abilities 

  • Each character has two built-in play-styles through the stance system, with player customization through ability swaps, ability upgrades, and items.

Co-Op 

  • Multiplayer is available at the start of the game, so you can jump in with your friends right away.
  • Alternate enemies and layouts will also appear during multiplayer.

Combat

  • Fast, responsive melee combat with an emphasis on breaking enemy posture to interrupt attacks.
  • Chain different attacks together seamlessly as characters have different light, heavy, and charge attacks.
  • Adapt to different enemies by utilizing unique sprinting, dodging, and air attacks.
  • Counter attacks with each character’s specialty of parrying, deflecting, or blocking.

WARHAMMER 40,000: DARKTIDE – PLAYSTATION 5 RELEASE DATE REVEALED

Fatshark announces its release date for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide on PlayStation 5 and opens its pre-orders.

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN, November 7, 2024. Today, Fatshark announces the opening of pre-orders for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, which will be coming digitally to PlayStation 5 on December 3rd, 2024. Those who pre-order the Imperial Edition will be eligible to play six days early.

Players will be able to purchase the Standard Edition of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide from the PlayStation Store for $39.99/39.99€. In addition, PlayStation Plus subscribers will get a 10% discount on the Standard Edition and 15% on the Imperial Edition.

This update includes Six Days in Fallujah’s first documentary story missions, taking players inside the beginning of ISIS and the bloodiest encounter for Westernforces in nearly half a century. During these missions, players participate in recreations of actual events alongside documentary footage and interviews with Iraqis and Americans who were present during the Second Battle of Fallujah in November 2004.

Additionally, the Command and Control updatenow includes a solo mode in which players command AI fireteams programmed with authentic military tactics. Six Daysin Fallujah is a highly realistic squad-based shooterand the world’s first documentary video game. It was initially launched into Steam Early Access on June 22, 2023, and instantly became the world’s #1best-selling PC game and remained a Top-10 seller throughout the next week. Conceived by Sgt. Eddie Garcia, a Marine who was wounded during the battle, Six Days in Fallujah was created incollaboration with more than 100 US Marines and Soldiers as well as more than two dozen Iraqi civilians and soldiers.

One of the most consequential events of thepast half-century, the Second Battle of Fallujah began on November 7, 2004,after Al Qaeda in Iraq seized control of the city of Fallujah. Six months after losing the city, Iraq’s prime minister ordered a military operation in which Iraqi soldiers fought alongside American and British forces to retake the city.The battle became the bloodiest for Western forces since 1968, re-shaped military doctrine and Western policy, and established a multi-decade alliance between Western and Iraqi forces. In 2006, the Al Qaeda forces who survived the battle renamed their group ISIS, and by 2014 seized more than 40,000 square miles of territory across the Middle East.

  • First Documentary Story Missions: The first two single-player story campaign missions available in the Command and Control update draw players into the genesis of ISIS and the opening day of the Second Battle of Fallujah. These missions also act as a tutorial for solo players tolearn the tactics and controls for leading three NPC teammates using the newly implemented Fireteam AI system. 
  • Advanced Fireteam AI System: Six Days in Fallujah now gives players command of an AI fireteam to deploy sophisticated tactics such as Fire and Maneuver, Ambushes, Breaching, and 360-degree Security. The innovative “Go!Command” makes it as easy to give orders as it is to fire weapons. One-tap commands teams to suppress enemies, watch targets, breach fortifications, or follow in formation.
  • AI Teammates: Just like actual combat,completing missions successfully requires a full fireteam of four people and effective use of tactics. Now, in addition to controlling AI fireteams in the new single-player mode, players can also substitute AI teammates online whenever all four humans aren’t available. 
  • New “HLZ Wolf” Procedural Mission: In additionto two all-new single-player story campaign missions, this update includes thenew “HLZ Wolf” Procedural Mission. All eight Procedural missions can now beplayed solo with Fireteam AI cooperatively with four players or with fewer than four players with the game filling any missing slots with AI teammates.
  • Graphical Overhaul: Six Days in Fallujah now features ray-traced lighting and many new visual effects through NVIDIA’s RTX Global Illumination(RTXGI) technology, building upon the game’s industry-leading Global Dynamic Lighting and Procedural Architecture technologies, which dynamically simulate real weather and lighting effects. Additionally, most of the game’s characters,environments, vehicles, and effects have been improved for higher visualfidelity. 
  • Additional Improvements: More than 300 technical enhancements, improving everything from game performance to the effectiveness of enemy AI to the smoothness of interactions and controls.

Existing Core Features in Six Days in Fallujah:

  • Procedural Architecture: Marines never knew what was waiting behind the next door, and this fear of the unknown became acentral, all-consuming part of combat. Every time players start a mission,entire buildings change shape inside and out,​ enemies take up new positions, and unique threats emerge. 
  • 4-player Co-op: Players can invite up to three friends or matchmake online to play cooperative missions against AI enemies programmed with the same tactics that made the Battle of Fallujah among themost difficult of the past half-century.
  • Wargame: Players can customize parameters for Procedural Missions, creating a wide variety of unpredictable challenges. Customizable parameters include Time of Day, Weather, Enemy Difficulty, and Procedural Architecture variation.

Six Days in Fallujah is available for purchase for Windows PC in Early Access via the Steam store for $39.99. To celebratethe release of the Command and Control update, the game is on sale for $29.99 through November 17, 2024.

Schedule of Free Weekly DLC for Farmagia Runs From 7-28th November

Marvelous Europe today announced the beginning of a season of free DLC for their recently launched monster farming/action title, Farmagia. The game features character illustrations from renowned creator and artist, Hiro Mashima, and released on Nintendo Switch™ system, PlayStation®5, and Windows PC via Steam on 1 November. Starting 7 November, each week a new “buddy skin” will be available as DLC for players to add to their account and expand their stable of monsters, with the fourth and final buddy skin becoming available 28 November.

  • Available 7 NovemberAfanc Skin: Baby Tomato A bit of a prankster, Afanc delights in startling other monsters by shouting from the cover of a tree. When amplified by their magic microphone, their shouts can be powerful enough to cause their victim to faint.
  • Available 14 NovemberGriffie Skin: Great Sphinx A winged beast with a natural preference for high places, Griffie attacks its enemies from the air with its sharp talons and beak. The monster is also known for collecting shiny objects they find.
  • Available 21 NovemberKissie Skin: Honey Flan Don’t be fooled by its name, this monster’s elongated mouth delivers paralytic neurotoxins rather than kisses. 
  • Available 28 NovemberBuncle Skin: Melty Buncle attracts monsters by emitting a sweet smell from its brightly colored, jelly body, luring them in before ambushing.

In the world of Felicidad farmers known as Farmagia raise and command monsters, who live in harmony under the watchful eye of the Magus Diluculum. This peace brought prosperity to the land until the death of the Magus, which drew opportunists seeking to use monsters to seize power for themselves. The spreading conflict reaches the town of Centvelt, forcing resident Farmagia Ten and his friends to join the battle against the despotic new ruler Glaza. Players will take the role of Ten and his fellow Farmagia friends, cultivating and commanding an army of home-grown monsters as they explore Felicidad’s treacherous lands, searching for valuable resources to improve their farm. As Ten’s skill and farm improve, he’ll have access to more monsters to nurture and new traits to aid him in his fight for freedom!
