Dynasty Warriors 7 getting free DLC containing original Japanese voices

Dynasty-Warriors-7-Action-Shots-10

How exactly does a woman as small as that manage to lift that giant wrecking ball of a weapon? Well its Dynasty Warriors so that’s enough explanation there. Besides super strong women, Dynasty Warriors 7 is going to be getting a handful of new features that are being released as free DLC from Tecmo Koei. Fans of the series had been clamoring for the original Japanese voice track to be available in the game and the company has obliged. Also free in the package will be a bunch of extra costumes for the fighters in the game.

Don’t think that it will be all free however, TK also stated that there would be paid DLC in the future, like new areas to fight and weaponry. But the addition of the Japanese voice cast is certainly a great choice by Tecmo Koei. Fans of games brought over from Japan often prefer the original Japanese voices compared to the English voice cast that takes over. Sure this means you have to read the subtitles but to each their own.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Reverie DLC delayed for Xbox 360

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow was released last year but Konami has continued to support the game through DLC and last week PlayStation 3 owners had the ability to start buying the Reverie DLC content with Xbox 360 users being promised that the they would be able to get their download-on this week. Unfortunately that won’t be the case.

In a post on the Castlevania Facebook page they have posted a notification and explanation saying that due to a last minute problem on the 360 version of the game that they would not be able to get the game content out this week. They are working with Microsoft to fix it and are hoping it will be fixed quickly. Unfortunately there was no information given as to what the problem was, leaving speculation as to whether it was something on Konami’s end or on Microsoft’s.

Dissidia iPhone app does AR

One of the most impressive features of the Nintendo 3DS is its AR mode. AR mode allows you to place cards on a surface and with your camera make them appear as if they are apart of the background. Well Nintendo your not the only one who can do it. Square-Enix has an app available on the App Store called Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy AR.

All you have to do is go to the app’s official website and print a card. Then set the card on a table or any surface and take a photo with the card and its just like they are actually there or something like that. Another added bonus is there is a model viewer which will allow you to see various character models from the game and add them to your photos. The 4 characters you get to bring to life are The Warrior of Light from Final Fantasy, Terra from Final Fantasy 6, Cloud from Final Fantasy 7, and Lightning from Final Fantasy 13. You can download this on the App Store now for $4.99 (US) & $5.99 (AU) BUY HERE

Child of Eden gameplay trailer is gorgeous

You don’t have to watch a hundred videos to know that Child of Eden is going to be gorgeous to look at. Of course if you do have to watch another video then you don’t have to worry because Ubisoft has released a new gameplay video today that shows off people using the Kinect version of the game on the Xbox 360.

Then again you really don’t have to take the trailer’s word for it as you can read our preview of the title here. I personally didn’t get my hands on the game, or off the game in the case may be, but this one appears to be one of the must have Kinect titles when it releases some point this Summer. Also don’t forget that the game is also coming out on the PlayStation 3 with Move capability when it is released so no one will have to worry about missing their chance to play it.

Mafia 2 rereleased as Director’s Cut/Platinum/Greatest version; sells for $30

It is a little odd that they couldn’t simply just keep the little subtitle the exact same on every console but regardless of that fact 2K Games has announced that Mafia 2 has been re-released for all platforms it was available on before. The Xbox 360 version will be the Platinum Hits version, PS3 is seeing the Greatest Hits and PC gamers are given the true name for a game such as this; Director’s Cut.

Now for a price tag of only $30 and is currently available at select retailers with a full release coming next month. The Director’s Cut/Platinum/Greatest Mafia 2 version will include all the DLC missions which are: the Betrayal of Jimmy, Jimmy’s Vendetta and Joe’s Adventures. Also included in the package are the style packs which were exclusive to certain retailers.

L.A. Noire selected for 2011 Tribeca Film Festival

Rockstar’s highly anticipated crime-thriller game, L.A. Noire, has made it into the official selection for the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival.

This is the first ever time a video game has been recognised by the TFF. L.A. Noire is under the “Special Event” category, and there is an exclusive preview of the game for those attending the festival at the Tribeca Talks series on Monday 25th April. The presentation not only has a live demonstration of a case in the game, but it also includes a Q&A exploring the crossover between filmmaking and interactive entertainment.

As a bit of a confessed film buff, I’m sure no one is as excited about this game as I am. Check out L.A. Noire’s page here for the Tribeca Film Festival, and stay tuned for more updates about this awesome, awesome game…yeah, I’m that excited.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 ships 2 million copies worldwide

It is always good to see a game do well; nobody wants to see a game franchise die off…. well maybe a couple. But regardless of that Capcom reports that they have shipped two million copies of Marvel vs Capcom 3 worldwide since it has been released a month and a half ago. Now keep in mind that these aren’t sales figures, simply shipped figures, but that still means that the stores had to pay Capcom for their stock.

Releasing eleven years after Marvel vs Capcom 2 it seems the wait only made fans want the title more. MvC 3 has blown past Capcom’s sales expectations considering Marvel vs Capcom 2 sold over a million copies of the game itself. With recently released character DLC and upcoming outfit DLC it certainly seems like Capcom is getting their money back for the popular fighting title.

Max Payne 3 isn’t dead yet; new screens shown

It is never a good sign when a game has been delayed countless times and then not given anything resembling an update in almost two years. The same thing happened to Duke Nukem Forever and we are finally seeing that title be released, but another title in recent memory has been delayed a few times, so much so it was thought to have been dead.

But not so says Rockstar because today on the group’s official twitter page they released two brand new screenshots that show someone in a hawaiin shirt and what looks like Max who has seen better days. The tweet only stated two words: “He’s coming.” Thankfully it seems that the franchise is not forgotten and hopefully we will hear more in the weeks to come.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City trailer released; includes confused Leon

Shortly after the release of information to all of the different console magazines, Capcom has decided the internet needs a bit of information besides what we’ve read in print. Today they have released a teaser trailer that possibly shows in game footage of how the game will look when it is played with a team of four against the zombie horde. There is even a quick appearance at the end of the teaser that shows Leon Kennedy pulling up, but as one would expect he is more than a little confused…

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City is being developed by Slant 6 and will place players in control of the Umbrella Security Services that have been tasked to clean up the T-virus outbreak in the city. This means that Leon isn’t an ally this time around, but a target to be eliminated this winter when the game releases on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

No 3D for Wii2?

As Nintendo release the 3DS across the world to gain an even stronger hold on the hand held gaming console market, some of the leading members driving the home console segment of the company have given a very brief insight into their new console. While many argued they should have delayed the release of the 3DS until they had a library of reputable titles with which to launch, the dropping figures in Wii sales could have prompted the early release. Although the Wii still outsold the other consoles in 2010, the release of the Kinect and Move have seen Microsoft slip in front, more than likely from a drop in PS3 sales rather than Wii.(Total overall sales still see the Wii on top with over 70 million consoles sold worldwide). Nevertheless Microsoft and Sony offer more advanced motion detection controls leaving the Wii with less to offer to gamers, especially since it is lacking in HD graphics.

Nintendo are an incredibly innovative company which is the main reason I have owned all of there consoles at some stage or another. There will be little doubt that their next console will be something special once again and offer gamers an experience that the others dont. They have always been a family friendly company and while many have argued this has limited them in the titles they get as well as their prospective audience, it is also what has kept so many people loyal to them over the years. Nintendo seem to have realised early on in the picture that 3D gaming is very limited to single player use due to the direct angles players need to be in relation to the screen in order for the 3D features to have any effect. Although they have managed to produce non-glasses 3D gaming on the 3DS, Hideki Konno, a man responsible for many important Nintendo franchises acknowledges that any sort of goggle-type 3D system was not going to work, and that any 3D technology would have to be non-glasses to be a success. He goes on to say that based on what they had learned on 3D it was not to be expected in relation to their next console. Personally I think they wont abandon the idea but will keep working on ways to produce non-glasses play on home based consoles.
