Furmins to come in Free and Not Free iOS packages

Hey, remember that Furmins game we told you about awhile ago? It is a game about little furballs and it is being made by Housemarque, an acclaimed developer whose resume includes Outland and other console games. However, Furmins will be their first iOS game. This game will be coming to all all of Apple’s devices –iPad, iPod Touch and iPhone– and it will come in three versions.

The free version “contains one game world / 12 game levels and supports in-app purchases for downloading content.”

The paid version comes in two varieties: a “universal app” or a “less expensive iPhone/iPod version.” They both support in-app purchases and both contain the “full game containing over 40 levels across 4 game worlds”

Buy an Xperia Play; get 4 free games

Hey, do you have an Xperia Play smartphone? Or are you considering getting one? EA and Sony have teamed up to make you want one even more. Dead Space, Battlefield:BC2, Need for Speed: Shift and NFS: Hot Pursuit (the mobile versions of all these games of course) will cost $0 if you have the Xperia Play. This special deal runs through January 15, 2012 so you have plenty of time to save for the phone if you want to get it.

Of course, you also have the option of asking your Granny to get this for you since the holiday season is coming up, but you wouldn’t do that right? Right?!

Get Afterfall Insanity for $1 if there are 10 million preorders

If there are 10,000,000 (yup, that is 7 zeroes!) preorders of Afterfall: Insanity, Nicolas Games will make sure that you only have to pay $1 for it. Here’s how it works:

As of now, you can preorder the game and pay your 1 flippin’ dollar right now. IF there end up being 10 million preorders, that is all you will need to pay to receive the game when it launches on November 25. This game is digitally distributed, so you won’t get anything besides the game, but $1 for a new game is a pretty good price eh?

10% of the revenue generated from the 10 million orders would go to charity.

However, there is the option for failure too. If the game does not reach the specified number of preorders, all proceeds will go to charity and the game will cost you $33.90. This sounds like an INSANE idea, but a good one. Check out the video below for more details.

Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer Confirmed!

UPDATE: SEE MORE BIOWARE CONFIRMED DETAILS ABOUT ME3 MULTIPLAYER HERE

Casey Hudson, Excecutive Producer on Mass Effect 3, has today confirmed that the game will feature co-op multiplayer missions. There has been strong speculation about this since a South African games retailer released a promotional flyer that unofficially let the cat out of the bag, and it’s safe to say that there’s been a bit of apprehension over the idea! The fanbase’s feelings are  something the developers are obviously aware of, as you can see from the Tweet below:

So it’s definitely happening – collective sigh of relief that it’s co-op in 3…2…1…*breathe*

Of course there’s now a huge pile of questions to be answered and no doubt there will still be negative reactions to the whole thing. Will the single player suffer because the developers had to devote time to co-op? Will there be co-op achievments? What characters will be playable? Local or online only? Can I be Garrus?!

The general message from Bioware seems to be this: wait until you have all the details before you judge. Putting aside the internet’s ability to be patient and not post  OMG ME3 WILL BE *#@** COZ OF MULTIPLAYER type comments everywhere,  Wednesday will bring the release of more information, but for now – what do you think?

Gears of War 3 making consoles freeze?

Uh-oh. Commenters on Epic’s forums have recently been reporting that a glitch in Gears of War 3 is causing some consoles to freeze up. It seems that if you try to play Horde mode in splitscreen with two profiles, the bug attacks and permanently screws up one of the profiles, blocking that person from entering ANY other game modes in Gears of War 3.

There is reason to hope however. Epic’s Rykard has posted a questionnaire that attempts to find out what exactly is going on and update the game to fix it. Until then, we advise you NOT to play Horde mode in splitscreen.

Deus Ex’s Missing Link DLC given second walkthrough trailer

You may remember a few weeks ago a developer walkthrough trailer was released to show off the first part of “The Missing Link” DLC for Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Today Eidos Montreal released the second part to that video which reveals that you won’t be staying on a boat the entire time in the DLC, but in fact traveling through a Belltower base as well.

In this video we are treated to a narrative by designer of the game, Antoine Thisdale. You can catch the video walkthrough below and expect to see The Missing Link dlc sometime later this month. I wonder if they have an augment to prevent sea sickness in the future?
