Sailor Moon Manga Tops US Charts

The long-time cult classic series Sailor Moon created by Naoko Takeuchi in 1992, has nearly 20 years on seen one of the biggest revivals in manga history.

After years of licensing disputes regarding the Sailor Moon franchise, Kodansha Comics have finally heard the calls of the masses and begun releasing the Sailor Moon manga, full translated into English.

But that isn’t the most exciting part. Sailor Moon Volume 1, has gone on to top the U.S. Graphic Novel charts, with the spin-off Codename: Sailor V Volume 1, taking the second spot. This is a great sign for the future of the manga and definitely something to make companies take notice and hopefully license the anime for release.

Your Weekend Timekiller: The Akinator

It’s a slow news day, so what better way to kill some time than to play on the interwebs? I recently came across this unique program/game thanks to a fellow editor (thanks Ben!) that can guess any character you are thinking of. So who is this wizard?

A genie by the name of the Akinator. The way this works is that you simply answer a series of questions and the Akinator tries to make a guess through the process of elimination. Oddly enough, this little genie has been correct with the most obscure of characters. Youngster Joey from Pokemon, Callisto from Xena: Warrior Princess, and even Emily Wyatt from Deadly Premonition were all guessed by the Akinator, much to my surprise.

Star Wars The Old Republic Confirmed RP-PvP Servers

Players interested in the upcoming MMORPG by Bioware, Star Wars: The Old Republic, may be interested in learning that there will be designated servers for roleplayers who prefer to PvP. These servers will be designated as RP-PvP Servers and this news confirmed in the forums about a week ago.

On the 30th of September, the Senior Online Community Manager, Steven Reid, stated this in a forum –

[…]  However, we have good news: RP-PvP servers are going to be a part of Star Wars: The Old Republic…

Though, it should be noted that such servers will not be exclusively monitored by a dedicated set of admins. But this may change in the future.

Please note, the ‘RP’ part of the RP-PvP designation will be a suggested style of play, not a mandatory one. What that means is, if you feel someone isn’t roleplaying, reporting them to Customer Service will not ensure action on their account. We will also not be enforcing naming policies or similar.

Just Dance 3 app lets you create easy music videos


We all knew our dogs were holding out on us. They just waited until we were out of the house to have awesome parties, dance all the time and eat all the food. At least, that is what we suspect happened to our beef jerky now that we have seen the video below. If a dog can dance like that, who is to say that they can’t unlock the closet where the good food is.

Ubisoft is launching a Just Dance 3 app for the iOS and Android which will let you create music videos just by placing things in front of your phones camera. The app is only currently available in certain countries on select devices buy will make its way to more devices/countries soon. Minecraft Pocket Edition launched

Hey, guess what? You can now play Minecraft on the go. Yes, just what we needed: a way to waste time doing awesome stuff on our phone. The Android version of Minecraft can now be found on the Android Market for the paltry sum of $6.99. In addition, there is a free demo that you can download to get a taste of the what the game is like.

Just know that if there are no new articles posted in the coming days, we are in a virtual world filled with wonderful glorious blocks. It is just so pretty!

By pre-ordering your copy of Dungeon Defenders, you will receive a 10% discount as well as Valve exclusive in-game items. One of the exclusive items is the gun from the game series “Portal”. Having extraordinary powers, the gun will be used to teleport players from one area to another as well as extending traps for unwary opponents. Additionally, you will have access to four familiars from “Team Fortress 2”:

  • The Heavy: Uses his Gatling gun to shoot at enemies from afar.
  • The Engineer: Repairs groups of nearby towers while you’re on the offensive.
  • The Medic: Heals a group of nearby allies amidst battle.
  • The Pyro: Uses a flame-thrower to set your foes on fire.

Mama always did say that if we kep’ stealing cookies from the jar our nose would fall off…

WHAT?! Your mom never said that? Well, maybe the guy in the picture above should have had a mom who told him that. He might have a nose now, instead of being a noseless, weird guy with crazy eyes!

This new trailer for Binary Domain explains how your choices during the game (including choices made under combat conditions) will affect how the other characters in the game react. For example, insulting a person’s nose or their mother will often get you punched.

Sorcerer’s Lair comes to Pinball FX2

Zen Studios is once again expanding the line of pinball tables present in Pinball FX2. However, this time instead of ‘sploding little people, they are bringing the undead, citadels and sorcerers to the game.

“Story, theme and design come together in a beautiful blend of fantasy” in this new table as you “avoid pesky traps, defeat an army of undead skeletons, explore six cellar missions and restore peace to those who reside within the walls of the ancient Citadel as you fight to escape the grasps of the evil Sorcerer.”

As usual, the new pinball table will “seamlessly integrate into the Pinball FX2 platform on Xbox LIVE Arcade, with full social feature support. Sorcerer’s Lair will also feature new Achievements, operators menu and rule sheet.”

Malware Plagues US Drone Computers

In an exclusive article over at wired, we are told of how a suspicious piece of software has made it into the US militaries drone computer network. This network intrusion is reported to have been coupled with a keylogger to record keypresses made by drone operators.

So far, the virus has had no effect on the operators abilities to fly the drones, nor have they seemingly developed a Skynet like intelligence. Word is that this is a benign virus, that could just be standard malware, but it has been able to avoid deletion for the moment.

Are we secure? Should the US government stop using these drones before something happens? Let us hope that the infected software remains safe.

New trailer for Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7

Hey, are you ready to play as the Potter in block form once again? Well then, get ready! This new trailer shows off the gameplay elements present in the new game and what we can expect from the story. Spoiler alert! You play with Lego blocks, solve puzzles and go through the plot outlined in the Harry Potter books.

Seriously though, so far, the developer has done an excellent job with the Lego license and we can’t wait to play some more Lego Harry Potter. How about you? Prepare for battle!
