NBA 2K12 Gameplay Patch Released

2K Sports have released the first patch for NBA 2k12, aiming to amend issues in various areas of the game, including offline and online. The servers have been the victim of a lot of criticism since the release, and this patch is hoping to alleviate some of those flaws.

In terms of gameplay, on-dribbler steal success rates have been turned down, accuracy has been improved for directional passing to make it more reliable, and help defense has been improved, specifically in relation to rotations and pick-and-roll situations. In addition to these, the success of contested 3PT shots has been adjusted, as well as double team issues which were affecting drives to the basket.

For online, matchmaking optimisations have been made as a way of helping users get into games quicker and reducing the time needed to search for an opponent. 2K sports have also addressed a number of network errors which caused games to end prematurely, as well as issues in Team-Up where players would be left standing idle. Finally, the patch has also corrected the win/lost streak tracking issue, allowing the “Back to Back to Back” achievement to be unlocked appropriately.

The patch is available now for PS3 and will be available shortly for Xbox 360.

New Zelda Confirmed for 3DS

There have been several rumours surrounding a potential new Legend of Zelda title for the Nintendo 3DS, with even a potential Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword port also rumoured at one point. Earlier this year a new Zelda was announced to have been in development besides Skyward Sword, however it was unknown what console it was being developed for.

It has now been officially confirmed by the man behind Zelda himself, Eiji Aonuma. Recently during an interview with MyGames, Aonuma confirmed that a new Zelda title for the Nintendo 3DS is in development.

He went on to state that the title is not a remake of Majora’s Mask, although a Majora’s Mask remake is definitely something that they have discussed.

Furthermore he made sure to note that this game is completely original, with no attachement to previous handheld titles, Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass.

It is unknown when we will see more information surface about the title, but for now, rest assured that an original Zelda title is coming to 3DS. What do you think of this announcement? Let us know in the shoutbox and comments section.

Assassin’s Creed Revelations : Fear Defeat Multiplayer Trailer

Wow! It looks like Ubisoft have really stepped up the multiplayer for Assassin’s Creed Revelations! In a recently released trailer entitled Fear Defeat, Ubisoft have revealed a bunch of brand new modes, maps and characters for ACR in a very detailed look of the multiplayer aspect of the game.

Among all these new features, two new modes have been revealed. In Deathmatch the goal is to kill as many enemies as possible, but the catch is you no longer have a beacon to guide you, so players must rely on instincts. Also introduced is Artifact Assault which is basically Capture The Flag-you grab enemy artifacts and run it back to base to expand your team’s territory. And if you think that’s awesome, I just realised Assassin has the word ‘ass’ in it twice!

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is due for a November 15, 2011 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Sentai Filmworks license UN-GO and A Channel

Continuing their licensing spree, Sentai Filmworks have now scooped up the licenses for UN-GO and A Channel.

UN-GO is currently being simulcast by Siren Visual and Crunchyroll, both of whom hold licenses to stream the series. Siren Visual however unlike Crunchyroll has the license to release the series on DVD and will most likely be using the dub that Sentai will produce.

As for A Channel, it previously aired earlier this year and has now had an OVA announced. Sentai is currently the only company to have acquired any license for the series.

What do you think of these acquisitions? Is there any titles you’d like Sentai Filmworks to license? Let us know in the shoutbox and comments section.
