Prototype 2 – The Making of New York Zero

Before Prototype 2 hits shelves next year, developers Radical Entertainment would like to introduce you to NYZ – that’s New York Zero. Leaving the real world New York behind, Prototype 2’s home turf was designed from the ground up, and will come in three distinct areas with their own unique visual, tactical, and gameplay styles.

This post viral world is nothing like the New York of memory, and only fourteen months on from the events of the first game has become divided into Green, Yellow and Red Zones. As you might expect the safest of these is the Green Zone, but that outward sense of normality shouldn’t have you fooled – the developers are promising a more insidious threat here, one hidden behind a facade of normalcy. The Yellow is a highly controlled midway point (where the game begins) and acts as the bridge between the safety of the Green Zone and the danger of the Red.

All three will unlock as the game’s story unfolds, but players will have the freedom to come back to each zone as they see fit. Check out the developer diary below for all the details…

Skyrim is taking over Sydney

As a person from Sydney I’m used to hearing about cool things happening in other places (such as in the US) and not really experiencing them first-hand. Well, no more! Bethesda have decided to give us Sydney citizens our very own cool little thing to call our own.

Next time you’re wandering around Sydney CBD keep an eye out because these little logos may be anywhere.

That’s right, Skyrim is invading the CBD via logos.

So if you’re in Sydney and you happen to catch sight of one then why don’t you snap a picture and post it on the Capsule Computers Facebook page, or let us know where you spotted it in the comment section below!

Dragon Quest Monsters 3DS Teaser Site Appears!

The previously announced Dragon Quest Monsters for the Nintendo 3DS now has it’s own obligatury teaser site in order to promote the title. The teaser site can be viewed here, just existing to purely tease you with bare minimum information on the game you so desperately desire.

The new title is a 3DS remake of the infamous original Dragon Quest Monsters game for the Game Boy Color from all the way back in 1998. In case you couldn’t understand that, you will be playing a 13 year old game remade with new visuals and what not. Very exciting for fans of the original game and for kids who were still in diapers when it was first released.

Nothing really substantial has been revealed about the title besides the fact that it will feature; local and wireless online multiplayer, spotpass and that little fluffball creature pictured above.

What do you think of this quest-tease from Square Enix? Let us know in the shoutbox and comments section below.

Skyrim – Which Perspective Do You Play?

skyrim-stuff1

Talking in the third person is a sign of the crazy’s, but playing Third person is a joy, especially in the vast expansive world of Skyrim. In previous iterations of The Elder Scrolls Series first person was the better option for combat, which didn’t sit well with some gamers and I was one of them. If Skyrim didn’t have it’s improved Third Person camera/animations I probably wouldn’t be playing it, Bethesda probably knew this and was smart to refine it for console gamers, especially since this generation has seen many franchises benefit from the Third Person Shooter/Action Adventure genre.

I’d even argue that overall the game and it’s UI are better designed for the console this time around, and the PC version can get mods if they’re unhappy, so everyone wins really. So which perspective do you play? How do you see the world of Skyrim? I’d say 90% of the time is third person for me, 10% first person for looking at things to pick up more closely. There’s probably many gamers who are around the other way, who’ve been playing the The Elder Scrolls since forever, that’s why I’m interested to know.

So, Let us know!
