A Wise Tortoise will be your guide in Dragon Quest X

The Dragon Quest series is known for it’s off-beat and charming cast of characters, and Dragon Quest X is looking to keep that trend going. Starting out, the player meets up with a tortoise deity by the name of Kame-sama in the human ran Etene Village.

Kame-Same soon tells the inhabitants that the main hero is heaven-sent, and then leads you to the statues that represent the five tribes in Dragon Quest X. Yes, by the looks of it, this is where the game will start and as usual, this title looks to have quite an interesting beginning. We are still a ways off from DQX’s official release, but stay tuned as once more information rises, we will be sure to keep you covered.

Get a Behind the Scenes look at Wakfu…

Ankama’s freemium MMO Wakfu is gearing up for a release in February, and to hold you over, a new developer diary has been released to give us all a better look at what’s inside. This clip has Game Designer “Azael” and Community Manager “Zidrune” of Ankama give a run-down on the freedom players will be given in this anticipated title.

From the economy system to the creation of kamas (Wakfu’s currency system), there is quite a bit explained in the clip if you don’t mind reading through some subtitles. At the moment, I am rather impressed with the easy-on-the-eyes art style presented though, as it seems like a brilliant move to go with a timeless design that is sure to run great on all PCs. Check out the video in full below, and don’t forget to keep an eye out for Wakfu when it launches next month.

Nintendo adds new game line-up to Club Nintendo…

Last month, Nintendo pulled the brilliant move of including downloadable digital releases in the Club Nintendo catalog. As promised, those four titles are long gone, and a new selection has risen to take their place.

First up is the clear winner of the four, with that being The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. To make the deal even better, you can download the N64 greatness straight to your Wii for just 150 coins.

Dr. Mario fans, you also have a lot to pick from as well. For Wii owners, you can snag up Dr. Mario Online for just 100 coins. If you are looking for a pill to swallow on the go however, Nintendo have also added Dr. Mario Express to the 3DS downloads at 150 coins.

Wrapping things up is the game that started it all. Made for the 3DS Virtual Console, Kirby’s Dream Land is being offered for fans of the pink fluff, and only for 100 coins.

Quite a decent array here, if I do say so myself. Now, to decide between them all (*cough*forgodsakesit’szelda*cough*).

Run Roo Run out now on the iOS

0

5th Cell Games known for their Scribblenauts series have released a new game that is essentially the opposite of Scribblenauts but in the best possible way. While Scribblenauts focused on allowing players to practically do anything, their latest offering, Run Roo Run, allows players to do only one thing – Jump.

Such a simple concept, works wonders on the iOS and looks to potentially be the best new iOS release in a long time. The game takes a familiar concept (the one touch control method) places it into a unique environment (Australia), adds a truckload of charm and polishes it to casual gaming perfection.

You can pick up Run Roo Run on the iTunes app store for a mere 99 cents here. Be to pick up the title as well as check out the trailer for Run Roo Run below.

Mole Kart, Out Now – Because the iOS didn’t already have enough embarrassingly pathetic game clones

Why can’t the iOS ever realistically compete with dedicated handhelds? Because a large portion of the games on the iOS are pathetically bad clones of dedicated handheld games. Case in point; Mole Kart.

Mole Kart is a Mario Kart 7 clone for the iOS, one that doesn’t even try to hide to fact that is a clone or that it is incredibly bad. The game retails for $2.99 here and features all tracks ripped straight from Mario Kart 7 but instead of you know, having Mario – it has Moles. Yes, Moles.

If you want to see for yourself how much of a sad clone Mole Kart is, focus your attention to the Mole Kart trailer below this article.

Ultimately Mole Kart is another in a long line of cash in clones that clutter the already overcrowded iOS platform. Be sure to look at the video below. I would love to hear anyone tell me that the iOS should even deserve to be uttered in the same breath as dedicated handhelds when the platform is overloaded with games very much like the shameful Mole Kart.

Code Geass: Akito the Exiled Promo Video Released

Code Geass
‘s third season has been taking many twists and turns in terms of development ever since it’s initial announcement, but on Thursday at the Code Geass New Project announcement a 90 second promo video was presented. The promo video was later streamed by Bandai Namco Live TV online for everyone to view.

Initially the promo video is some what of a disappointment. The animation is substandard compared to the animation of the original series, and I find the audio to be embarrassing. Though apart from this many of the characters are revealed and some of the mecha battles look very interesting. All in all, I am even more excited for the new season than ever.

Ninja Gaiden 3’s multiplayer given trailer alongside new screenshots

Nothing says Ninja Gaiden 3 like a few unnamed Ninja’s having liters of their blood spilled all over the floor and on Ryu Hayabusa. Today Tecmo Koei revealed a slew of new screenshots which show off exactly that. Ryu Hayabusa slicing into multiple bad guys and being showered in their blood.

For those who would rather take their ninja abilities against fellow players, Tecmo Koei has also released a multiplayer trailer which can be seen below. This footage shows the multiplayer mode where up to eight different players can slaughter one another with a multitude of over the top skills in what looks like an extremely hectic and interesting mode.

New Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Film Project

Sunrise’s Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion is getting it’s own movie. On Thursday the producer of the Code Geass franchise (Yoshitaka Kawaguchi)   announced the film adaptation to the original series is being planned.

This film adaptation covers the original storyline , thus the film will be following the student Lelouch and his struggles with the Holy Britannian Empire. Both seasons of the original series have won awards at the Tokyo International Anime Fair, the series has also been extended with a third season, which follows alternate characters, called Code Geass: Akito the Exiled.

The producers Kawaguchi and Yukawa described the film adaptation as a ‘dream project’. No release date has been set for this title, but as a Code Geass fan, I say the sooner the better.
